I often find myself wondering why the book readers talk about Phillip like he’s the devil incarnate when ALL OF THE MEN ACT HORRIFICALLY IN THE BOOKS.

First we start with Simon who lied about why he couldn’t have kids and in the ensuing argument with Daphne, punched a wall next to her head and physically aggressed her.

Next we have Anthony who essentially sexually assaults Kate and then heavily pressures her into sex on their wedding night.

Now we move to Benedict who also pressures Sophie into sex and then belittles her quite heavily for declining his “offer” to be his mistress.

Then comes Colin who, after demanding that Penelope stop printing Lady Whistledown, grabs her by the arm hard enough to leave bruises when she publishes another column.

Let’s mosey on over to Michael who’s internal monologue is COVERED in declarations about coercing Francesca into having sex so she will have no choice but to marry him.

Here we come to Gareth who pursues Hyacinth on a dare from his father and then, like Michael, spends the majority of his encounters with Hyacinth thinking about how he has to have sex with her so she is stuck with him.

And finally land of Gregory who, after being rejected OUTRIGHT by Lucy during her wedding ceremony, showed up at the reception and tied her to a pipe so he could figure out why she declined him

Now I’m not saying Phillip is perfect—he’s emotionally stunted, unwilling to acknowledge his own trauma from childhood abuse, has very little sympathy for Marina’s depression or her suicide, & pursued a wife purely so he could avoid parenting his children—but he is nowhere near the worst of the bunch.

With Eloise's season being next i find myself thinking about how sad show Philip's life is, in the book at least the twins were his whereas the show he is fully living George's life -a life that he never wanted and got away from the first chance he had- so excited for them to meet (i hope they fix his shit like they did with all the male leads before)

They should've kept the scene where she punches him the first time he asks her to be his mistress i just hope he doesn't keep insisting like in the book, but so far this season has been a great improvement from s3 i hope to see more of Eloise in part 2 as she is clearly the next lead

My only thought while watching is who took younjung's eyebrows and will they please give them back to her ? Her deep voice and thick brows are what stuck out to me when i first saw her in law school why do they keep bleaching them into oblivion

Finally caught up with typhoon family!! it's the first drama that has been compelling so far this year i can't wait to see where it goes from here. However i am once again begging netflix to hire people actually good at translating, why can i -a non fluent in korean person- tell that there's so many mistranslations ??!
