I feel like a Pepsi that's been out for a week. 20yr introvert Sometimes artist, sometimes a memer, sometimes an artist that canât stop using a finger to draw.
Blast from the past, seeing a Undertale Soul Quiz spreading online. So I did it.
âDespite the pressure to change, I stayed true to myself.â Feels like, âDespite everything, itâs still you.â
WHICH IS ACCURATE, BECAUSE WAAAAY BACK WHEN, I WAS INTEGRITY. Albeit, I think Kindness was runner up.
While I do not agree that I am consistent (especially communicating dear lord), I do agree that though I rarely want to hurt people, when I tell them the truth, itâs because I cannot stand it anymore and hope itâs for the best. Always with best interests in mind. Sometimes I act, Iâm different when it comes to who Iâm with, but always within the framework of who I am.
Here is the link to the quiz. Kinda long, but really well made and has a lot of effort in it unlike a lot of those back in the day ones.
A weighted assessment of the seven human soul virtues.
A group of people are sent into space, nothing out of the ordinary about their venture.
Ship gets caught in a wormhole or the void due to a failed Void Jump
Both groupâs turn against each other (Adults and perhaps other kids/The Crew)
Both Protagonists accept unknown and dangerous powers from mysterious figures in order to get out of the situation (Wally/The Voice of the Paradox)
Both Protags die dozens, if not hundreds of times (Drifter/Captain)
Best friends turn in each other, only to realize one was in the wrong (Adis/Engineer Mark) and both friends can sing really well
Both are charismatic enough to woo anyone, or at least make them care (The Hex, The Triad/The Bandit, Wug, the whole crew)
Both have a Sentient AI who usually follows orders (Ordis/ Invincible II Computer)
Both MCâs are feared for their power (Orokin/Lady and her Agency)
Both can manipulate time by sheer will (Drifter resetting/Captain using wormholes)
Like, after getting into Warframe and thinking of the Old Peace/New War, my mindâs been stuck on âWow, thatâd be an interesting concept!â But after months of trying to put fingers to keybinds, I cannot do it. So, I release this into the void to perhaps come back to.
So Queen Imogen was a Queen, with subjects and a notable banner. While Craigâs group and her subjects were cast out, it makes me wonder what accounts as a âQueenâ.
Queen would mean some sort of nobility, which means some position of power. The only other house to have such a position is Voda House, which seems to be a newer House if Progenitor Idrisâ act of sealing the Resurgence happens a few hundred years before present, putting Voda house on the field. (I am merely assuming this, as there is no mention of any past deeds done by Voda House past his and Progenitor meaning beginning, founder or originator if I remember correctly.)
The Corroded Scar is a land that seems more like a part of a whole- a resource land that did house miners and small towns that are devoid of humans, but it is still apart of the greater landmass and itâs territory connects to the center of the Frontier. Magmell on the other hand is separated by ocean, away from the predominant land and yet its occupants are the ones in power. Now the Resurgence could have destroyed land (as it destroyed that island in the beginning of the game and sunk the major city), but itâs an odd spot thatâs very disconnected to itâs people. Itâs a detail that really makes it Voda; Revenants disconnected to their fellow Revenants by distance and conscious, tucked away in the shadows yet is a major player. Lavinia in the shadows, not really caring for her fellow Revenants as the plan is to simply erase them all (which is why she isnât too upset about changing history).
JosĂše is not really noble, as she is just a leader of a city of survivors. Nor is Holly as she just runs an albeit successful hospital. Zenon seems to be only imprisoned in the Frontier, not necessarily from the Frontier so if he is noble/has land, he is at the very least due to his imprisonment, not in charge of it. (Also, odd that Zenon can do a lot of Time Forma just like Lavinia, who he seems to know outside of his imprisonment. Not to mention Jadwinga who can do what Lou can. I kinda HC that perhaps the two have a common ancestor, that the Bloodcode diverged to Superbia with Voda.)
Ever since Valentinâs departure as a civil aid between Humans/Revenants, Lavinia has not displayed much authority past Magmell, yet at least Valentin is known to be next in line to become the most important man in the Frontier (not exact quotes from Noah but close enough?)
Cutting to it, I ask - Is the Mcleish family the actual rulers of the Frontier? Or, was? With Imogenâs self banishment and the exile of her people, the small amount loyal to her banner, create an opportunity for Voda to take the title with their newfound fame? Perhaps Craig, who would be a Prince in this instance, did not wish to fight it as he did not want to rule?
The game states humans are outnumbered by Revenants, meaning some Revenants most likely have the positions of power all across the globe due to their power and longevity. What happens then when in the bad ending, they disappear? What sort of power vacuum does that create? Free from their oppressors, how would humanity adapt? Who got to chose who was in charge? Vote, or a bloody clash to grab the vacant seats of authority? The world in that ending is quite drab, and while weâre put up on a pedestal as a Hero of Humanity (and executioner of all our friendâs hopes and dreams, their families and their friends) , the world doesnât look better for it. We hardly see a difference, or live long enough to see one.
(In my OC Heroâs Ending/1st End, a fanfic Iâll either never publish or never finish, sorta world building mixing CV1 and GE)
Humans tore each other apart to get to positions of power with the Hunter ruling over the Frontier and most likely a force to be reckoned with due to their Revenant Heart given by Lou and the prestige of being Humanities savior. In my Hunterâs case, they felt nothing but the Revenantâs executioner, killing the only people they knew as friends and allies given the mind wipe upon their first death. A sort of paradox as the Resurgence lives within Revenants, Laviniaâs destroyed the Resurgence, but Louâs heart which is Revenant is full in our human chest.
To tie into the wider universe of the series, the super organic cells slowly melting from the iceburgs known as Oracle Cells would form slowly into Aragami. Without Revenantâs (Hell, make it a Revenant House who kept the ice in check), humanity is doomed. The Hunter is probably the only person with the power (due to dying dozens of times and if they still have Louâs heart, the power of Revenant Forma) to do something about and even then, is just one person. So humanity goes on, leaders demand answers and scientists make solutions.
God Eaters, and BOR Revenants.
Using their own race as weapons and tools, declining their numbers more and more. The OG Revenants really died for humanity to just go downhill. The Hunter was so displeased that when they eventually die (I had it as complications with the Revenant Heart straining the human body as Lou isnât there to ease the burden) they vow to never let Lavinia succeed, even at the cost of their life.
Now I had it as that there was Resurgence left in Lou, and as human blood quells the Resurgence/bloodlust, creating a forever reaping and sowing in the Hunterâs body. Not quite human anymore. It only grows more and more unbalanced as they use Forma and Blood Codes, as Revenant Powers demand Revenant Payment. It takes more and more, more than the Hunter can replenish, leaving deformities to occur (as humans and animals were stated to transform during the Resurgence) until it grew too much of a strain and the human body gave out. Zenonâs Forma is triggered and they are sent to the past with an undying will to never let any of that happen and probably to kill Lavinia for bamboozling her and Lou and making her an accomplice to genocide.
Also also, I do believe that since there were records of Idrisâ time travel, Valentin would be able to uncover the different ways we changed history. The Doomed versions of the heroes, the changed outcomes, and even the end of Revenants and the avoided future of what humanity would do. For angst sake.
Iâm so glad with the new DLC more Fu stans are coming out- It felt like such a small little group of gremlins hiding in the shadows liking this awesome character so much. Now thereâs fan arts and posts galore! Sure, itâs still small compared to other characters, but itâs just so amazing to see like minded people.
His final form father is still kinda slept on though-
I AM SO SORRY FUTURE SAGA, I DID NOT KNOW YOUR GAME???
Oh, Iâm gonna be so rusty in XV2 but damnit, Iâve simped for YEARS for this man, I cannot miss this milestone! I need to actually play Chapter one of the saga instead of just doing missions-
Whatever goal and dream you had is no longer there.
You will rise as a tool.
What empty hollow remains will be filled with friends and love.
You will kill them, one by one.
Whatever bonds you forge, no matter how strong will never erase the fact you are a pawn.
(Bit of OC storytelling.)
Macaria Crane lost her family at eight, taken in by the Magmell Orphanage after her Grandmotherâs town had been razed by Horrors. While Magmell takes good care of its human occupants, there was no action to combat the emotional distress she suffered, and continued to suffer as she found no purpose or sense of belonging.
It seemed like a no-brainer to become a Hunter working for Magmell. She would work to become strong enough to protect others and herself, while having the underlying hope that to fall in duty would be to reunite with her family proudly.
She did indeed fall during an island evacuation gone awry at the age of nineteen, giving her life to aid in the innocent townsfolk escape towards the mainland. Her seeming selfless act, budding talent and protecting a Revenant who was desperate to aid others but couldnât, resulted in Voda Houseâs Matriarch adding her an elaborate plan decades in the making. A pawn in their game, a soldier to follow orders, and a tool to be used.
Macaria awoke with hardly any sense of self and a choice to either aid humanity in a heroic journey, or to die so the half heart within her chest could go to another willing Hunter. With no agency, Macaria accepted the weight of the world: to kill the Heroes who gave their lives in a failed attempt to seal the Resurgence, accompanied by the Revenant she died protecting who would always stand by her side.
To see the world for what it was in their times and see the twisted and lost heroes as who they once were. They became friends, brothers-in-arms, and unexpectedly partners- bonds that warmed her ashen heart and soothed a mind that couldnât fully understand the past hurt it had endured. She cherished them all- and it ripped her own heart each time she had to rip their own. The only saving grace was that their futures, their hopes and dreams, the people they cherished, would live on through her. That gave her a reason to continue on.
She vowed to protect and cherish each Heroes legacy, and every person they left behind. She loved Revenantkind more than her own people.
But she was still just a Pawn, unaware that the hand who guided her would finally reach the checkmate because of her actions.
And all of Revenantkind had lost.
(Also yes, this is a reference to that one meme image/drawing thing circulating)
Like, she calls us Beloved, Darling, Betrothed, Opens up a lot to us and the game admits her Fake Engagement has turned into real feelings after her Personal Quest where we help her find the spices for her dish. Sheâs very clearly open and pining for a relationship that she doesnât know canât be.
Our Hunter, from the Present, knows the truth. I imagine that even if they did fall for Josee, they donât encourage it by language or actions as a way to distant themselves (and fail) from her because of the inevitable hurt. They donât flirt back, they donât call her pet names, they donât get close when it comes to themselves. To them itâs an empty promise of a happier life.
One Miraculous Bonds Ending later? Oh yeah, Hunter is gonna sweep JosĂše off her feet. They are gonna wake up, realize that they finally reached the good ending, and immediately turn JosĂšeâs Base into a Wedding Venue. Sheâll have to be the one to tell the Hunter to slow down which is ironic.
I imagine during the Honeymoon (or heck, even before the Wedding) The Hunter will explain their seemingly out of the blue devotion on their relationship and marriage.
(Also it doesnât matter the gender, JosĂše will probably not let the Hunter see the sun for like, a week during the Honeymoon-)
All this Code Vein 2 stuff has me thinking about like⊠a crossover with Fire Emblem Three Houses. Please roll with me, itâs been a long shift at work and Iâm sleepy sick. I ainât giving much context. This is mostly Code Vein 2 with just events playing out like they did in Fe3h.
Like, all the Bloodlines and Bloodcodes mimicking Crests.
Trying to create a heir to Progenitor Idrisâ power and said successful heir is implanted in our heart that can control time. (Progenitor God being Sothis, Progenitor Heir being Lou)
Said Implanter is a person of power who manipulates others around them (Rhea/Seiros, and Lavinia)
Though for the sake of Roleplaying, Byleth and the Hunter are both mercenaries who have no idea what theyâre getting themselves into.
The Ten Elites being the Revenants who sealed away the Resurgence, their bloodlines descending to Holly and Camilo, Craig and Lyle, Zenon and Jadwinga, Lavinia and Valentin, Josee and Lise. (Probably extras somewhere)
One thing I really didnât like about Code Vein 2 was how close the events of the game are. âLong Agoâ wasnât too long by Revenant Standards, and not very distant in the past before the game starts. Whereas the War of Heroes took place long ago, giving a lot of credence to the Seal fading. If I remember right it was maybe over a hundred years ago while given the lifespan of Revenants we see in the base game, itâd be more legendary if it happened hundreds of years ago, or in Fire Emblemâs case, over a thousand.
How would the whole Liberation thing work? I dunno. Nemesis operated as a champion of humans/mortals while wanting the powers of Nabateans/Dragons who had guided humanity with their knowledge. How would the endings play out? No idea.
The Voda house could still be a bastion of Forma, just like how the Church of Seiros stores Crest Stones and hidden history. They can spend decades trying to make artificial vessel after vessel to have Indrisâ power in order to seal the Resurgence for good, only for them all to fail until Lou. They find a dead Hunter from evacuating the Cocoon, revive them with Louâs Heart as they acknowledge that the Human will is strong and Lou is weak. A seemingly perfect balance. Itâs like Sothis and Byleth. Hell, it could even have the same start, sprinkle some CV1. Failed Vessel (Letâs go with Queen/Cruz) has a kid, heart is taken and transplanted into the kid, and father runs away with the Hunter. Who comes from that merge is Lou, reborn but connected to Hunter, growing with the, as a figure that canât be seen and only awakened when they die against the cocoon like in the base game.
I do not plan to make this make sense I am just thinking to hard, need to get it out before I make it a fan fiction. Gods know I really want to write fics for this game.
And the fact that with all that planning, the wedding would never be. We had to kill her twice, we always knew the plans and the bonding with her and Lise would only result in heartbreak.
Maybe the Hunter fought for that life, for that chance. But fate literally will not let the two be together.
Itâs so damn tragic.
(Valentin is below, thereâs just more specific spoilers)
(Valentin. He in particular. Imagine doing all of this for humanity, promising to this human Hunter Noah picked off the tunnels who helped him, that heâd secure them a better future⊠only to either A) Kill everyone they bonded with in the 1st ending or B) Make them sacrifice themselves in the end for his misguided and doomed attempt to save humanity.)
Code Vein 2 is like if Code Vein 1 and Dragon Ball Xenoverse had a child and left it on the doorstep of Dragons Dogma,
Anime aesthetic and characters, more trope-y than the first but still a story with notable friends, multiple endings and bonds to be formed.
Time traveling abilities were we are supposed to not change history, but can change history for the greater good and are seen as a hero for it.
An open world and materials to collect and craft with, but is actually quite empty with sparse dungeons and a small feel, a world retained in a single continentâŠ
Really invested rambling below I just wanted to say that peace.
I feel like they really want to show off lip animation or just mouth animation in general since the first game had very little with everyone being in masks, for one. Itâs the only explanation as to why they use it so often.
The weapons, the skills you can learn from bloodcodes, the whole stat system is really nice compared to the first. With a wider variety of codes and weapons, it really is fun to toy around with builds especially since you arenât for example, too far into Strength and too little into Willpower like the first game which sort of locks you out of making a build viable for a long time.
The characters do have depth, Iâd say more or equal to the CV1, but the MC on the other hand is very plain. In CV1 you are a newly revived Revenant to fight the Queen, you get a backstory to how and why you have these powers and why you are important.
CV2 does sort of have that, but we donât know why our Hunter went to that exploding cocoon, how they died, why out probably many dead bodies, we were chosen to be revived into a pseudo-vampire. At least not that I can remember. Weâre given a mission to slay the Heroes so their cocoons donât explode and not to interfere with history but also thereâs no real consequence for changing historyâŠ
Unlike CV1 itâs got open world aspects with would be nice⊠if they, like in Dragons Dogma, werenât so barren. I understand the Horrors and all that, but I feel like after giving each clan a better outcome, a few places once destroyed would be in better shape near their respective bases. Technically there is the Refugee camp but youâre telling me after decades they still live in the rubble? Also, the lack of important humans. Or at least humans in missions. It would have been actually cool to see Revenantâs like in the last game taking humans and stopping their gangs like in Lyleâs quest. While the âpleasing the sibling-in-lawâ quest is fine, I wouldâve liked to see how the Outpost operated normally as it seems to almost be a trading hub.
In CV1 there are three endings, Good, Bad and True.
Good is that you quell the relics but fall into slumber with Io by your side. Here, Lou is the one with the responsibility and you, either asleep or dead, remain by her side. The Heroes continue to live, your hard work and sacrifice not wasted as you and Lou have ensured an era of peace where both Humans and Revenants can live in harmony. In 1, Io becomes a Tree to not only feed Revenants with Beads eternally, but allows the group to venture outside of the Gaoi and frees everyone, human and Revenant.
Bad is the first canon ending of CV2. In 1, you frenzy under the energy of the Queen without restoring the other relic bearers bonds fixed, and you are killed to stop the Queenâs revival. In 2, Lavinia (to my knowledge) either weaponized or seals the Resurgence funny and it kills every single Revenant in existence who were the largest demographic on Earth. Lou gives you her heart and you survive in a world that is spectacularly more gloomy than the other endings. The sky is dark, the land looking dead. And you are actually dead, remembered as the Hunter and a Leader of Humanity.
True in CV1 is the same as the Good ending but there is a hint that Io has a human form again, able to tag along in the groups adventures. While in 2 you save Lou from the Resurgence Core which is it actually being a foe and not a force of nature and then you wake up. Without a heart at all to see all your friends again. It is a good moment, but the game doesnât change after that. No explanation on what was happening, how long, or what you are. There is DLC coming out which I hope does have a sort of CV1 MC Origin story within it. Our character maybe in a flashback showing the exploding cocoon. Letting us interact with the world after the True ending and not just a boss rush like in CV1. Maybe us, as a human, actually seeing the darker side of Revenants instead of the positive side when they are our friends
Also, Headcanon/OC moment here-
Can you imagine our Hunter waking up in Magmell, slowly realizing that Lou is gone? Not only that but all the hard work, killing the Heroes they bonded with not once but twice so that their clans and their loved ones can continue to exist (and help as Lavinia herself admits!), are wiped from existence? Craig and the Chorus protecting and rescuing people, Holly and her advancements in medicine, gone. The good that they couldâve continued to do not even a possibility because they are Revenantâs. Us, as the player character, are the sole Leader in the Age of Humankind built upon the death of thousands of Revenants and our own friends. What do we have to show for it in the end? At the end of the first ending, we have to die maybe a decade after Laviniaâs betrayal as the two kids Jacob and May are late teens-early twenties, when they come to our funeral. Can we not live on a Golden Heart? Or is there a threat in the world that kills us, the only powerful human left who could defend the small fraction of normal humans left? If we actually made human friends and saw the human perspective for more than five minutes with Gobbo, I imagine a bit of it would seem justified.
Is it clear enough that I absolutely dislike Lavinia? As someone who got compared to their more successful sibling growing up I did not like her interactions with Valentin and the pressure she put on him, enough to drive him away. How she made Lou with only one goal in mind and nothing else, letting Lou see herself as just a means to an end. Iâm sure she too had the same pressure on her, but the cycle of abuse can stop with her and she just kept it going. Manipulative, forced unsummomable and all around hard to like imo.
Also in the DLC if we can romance Valentin or get cutscenes with him like the other heroes thatâd be great.
I am Malenia, Blade of Miquella⊠And this is not my game.
It took me around two hours to beat Malenia in Elden Ring. I created them in Code Vein (albeit a bit jank) without a reference photo. I think the hair is a bit too red, I think itâs supposed to be more of a fiery orange than cherry red. Sadly the game doesnât have a color wheel.
Also Noah decides to crash a Hot Spring Date with our girlfriend/wife. No such thing as privacy I guess. While I don't like how petite Josee is, I gotta admit I actually grew to really like her. The whole betrothed side story was honestly sweet. Bittersweet, but sweet.
