Layout 1, b/c 2 is too tight to make the bed, and I need a bedside table and a lamp.

The internet is divided, with opinions differing on whether separation or maximizing open space is more important.

Layout 1 focuses on separation, creating a clear boundary between sleep and work by keeping the bed away from the desk.

Layout 2 takes the opposite approach, placing the bed at the center and pushing the workspace to the edges.

layout 1 lets both the desk and the bed have a clear view of the door, layout 2 neither can see the door.

layout 1 puts the desk in the bright window nook and the bed in the dark corner away from the window, thus putting awake time in the light and asleep time in the dark.

layout 2 invites birds and monkeys to eat your head through the window (fung shui concept) and necessitates intense desk lights while giving you no view from either the bed nor the desk.
