We always talk about how Stratt is haunted by Grace's screams and cries at night, but what about Carl?

This might be a hot take, but not only do I argue that Kris and Noelle had a better relationship than some people in this fandom assume, but Noelle being best friends with Kris paved the way for her to be girlfriends with Susie!

Remember that scene in Chapter 2 where she said Kris understood how weird she is? And the fact that she was happy that Kris understood that?! It demonstrates that they would only know that she's a weirdo at heart because being with Kris allowed her to be true to herself, and that she wasn't afraid to express her weird qualities because Kris didn't like her in spite of her weirdness, but BECAUSE of her weirdness! Because Kris is a weirdo themselves!

But now that Dess is gone and she's (almost) convinced herself Kris wants nothing to do with her anymore (despite the fact they both miss each other BADLY)... that's where Susie comes into play! Why wouldn't she fall in love with Susie?! She reminds her so much of that foul-mouthed freak she used to be so close with! And since Susie is practically on the same wavelength as they are (so much so that they're practically sharing a single braincell as of now), being with her gives her the best chance to reclaim the freedom to be weird that Kris was all too happy to give her.

So yeah, her love for Susie didn't come out of thin air! It was built on the foundation of her adoration and appreciation for Kris and their unorthodox, rule-breaking qualities (which Susie shares)!

P.S. And, of course, I'm sure things will get better for her when Susie helps her and Kris rebuild their relationship. Will it be platonic? Romantic? Some special third thing? Well, one can only guess!
