Church
I believe in God
Because I hear him in your sighs
And feel him in your skin
And the other night
A gazebo became our church
Your lips were the doors
And your hands sang hymns over me
While we both worshipped
And oh
What a service it was

Church
I believe in God
Because I hear him in your sighs
And feel him in your skin
And the other night
A gazebo became our church
Your lips were the doors
And your hands sang hymns over me
While we both worshipped
And oh
What a service it was
God may hold the world in his hands,
but my fingers are slipping through your hair
and my lips whisper prayers
between yours
as we sing hymns
in our breaths
my heart beats faster
to the tune of it
and the heavens illumiate
the flash of your eye
in the dark
for even as I began to faint
your arm tightened around me
and even as I only hold your face in my hand
I know how God feels
when he holds the world
Hey go follow my art blog!!!
She was the perfect image
Painted glossed and framed
Among her broken peers
She was worshiped and famed
Her photograph shone so brightly
It blinded all the rest
To the torn and frayed edges
Hidden under the glass
Her beautiful porcelain skin
Untouched within their view
Was cut and scarred and marred
Nearly all the way through
Though she smiled wide
She was a dying soul
A painting left unsigned
Coveted by a fool
A smile
A giggle
Your hand covers your face
My heart drops
My laugh stops
Waiting to see it again
Brief moment
All alone and
Suddenly I see it staring at me
Your wonderful
Beautiful
Face which gives me courage to live
I screamed into the void
The void whispered back
I found comfort in the quiet
I found peace in the black
I let it swallow me
I let it become my home
But even as I was sleeping
I felt so alone
Then one day
Asleep in my cage
I heard a voice
From a boy about my age
And for the first time in years
I opened my eyes
And for the first time in a while
Someone heard my cries
I stepped back out
Into the light
His arm caught me
I had won my fight
Even though the darkness
Seems to be the only way
There’s something sweet
About finding love in the day
Somewhere up top
Above the spread
Float the souls
Of the dead
And when I lie
Down in my bed
They venture there
In a silent tread
They whisper my name
So softly said
Keeping me awake
Filling with dread
Are they ghosts after all
Or Payment for bloodshed
For these ghosts share a feature
My eyes in their head
Five
Four
Three
Two
One
My hopes
And dream
Crushed one by one
One

Drowning in
The River Styx
There’s a thousand seas
Around the world
But one sea
Belonged
To me
For when I was young
I would walk to my shore
And the waves
Would with
Me be
The waters were strong
And tickled my toes
The winds
Whispered
My name
My ocean was gentle
And kind and brave
And the depths
Made me
Feel free
Two forces
Drive our world
Two beings
Hold the strings that guide us
The first is life
While beautiful
Guiding us forward
Strengthening us
Providing us with warmth
Below the sunny smile
And soft voice of life
Lies an evil
Violent
Chaotic spirit
Building you up
Preparing you for greatness
Then striking you with sickness
To keep the circle going
Life gets bored
And prefers new to old
The second is death
She watches life’s game
Her soul troubles as he plays
With your emotions
Your livelihood
And your dreams
She is much gentler
Quieter
Reserved
She is just
And does not take people
Until they need her
When a child is born
She watches them grow
Learning who they are
And loving them
At their best
And worst
She sees what life does
With the pawns not so desirable
He plays with them
Tells them they are worthless
Toys with them
Life tells his world of the living
That death is a monster
She steals away the perfect world
He rules
Some buy into his game
And fear death
Even at the cost of happiness
But others
The leftovers of life’s game
Begin to obsess
Over the idea
Of her
They venture away from life
As much as possible
They wonder
And they wander
And they reach the edge of his world
Some look over the edge
And they turn around
Others step across
And embrace her
As a choice
As much as death is happy
To embrace them
And let them rest
She cries still
At their brokenness
And that they came to her
When they were so desperate
And received nothing
In the oasis above
Sometimes life is cruel
Striking down
Even the youngest
And most innocent
And when a soul is sick
And fading
She reaches up
And touches them
And takes them to her world
Where they finally
Feel love
A single flower
Sits on a thrown
When wind blow by
It’s leaves are thrown
As the storm passes away
It sees how it’s grown
But still it hates
Being alone
They keep saying goodbye
And I convince them not to die
Then they turn around and ask why
I look like I’m going to cry
I can’t handle my own pain
So I’m sorry if I’m showing strain
I am carrying the demons I’ve slain
And now I’m also wrapped in your chains

I hear them
The voices
V-o-i-c-e-s
Vanity.
Obsession.
Insecurity.
Conspiracy.
Evil.
Spitefulness.
They speak to me of my flaws.
My shortcomings.
My fears.
Everything that forms me into myself.
They hate you.
We hate you.
You hate you.
Right?
Well... they’re not wrong.
I do hate me.
So the rest must be correct.
How can they love me
If I cannot love myself?
Love is a funny thing.
Always given without return,
Or returned but never granted.
I’ve loved so many.
And only a few love me.
It doesn’t matter.
They’re just out of reach.
I’ll continue to love.
Boys
And girls.
But never will I love anyone
More than a bullet in my head.
Inside my head
Between the cracks in my skull
There lies a war
A battle fighting for now
And for all that’s come before
My own mind betrays me here
And sends me spiralling down
But in the end I will win
For I’m the one with the crown
I’ve fought many fights before
And defeated the armies with ease
So now this fight will be nothing
I’ll live just as I please
Rose
Such a small beautiful thing
Radiating happiness
But underneath the petals
That sing out in bliss
Lies a terrible pain
Most would miss
For the vines hold more
Than the average soul
The deep red blossoming
Holds a story untold
Beautiful to keep
And terrifying to hold
Because while the flower may bring
Such a wonderful sense of peace
This gorgeous gift
Is full of grief
Few know the truth about
The thorns beneath
Lightning Bug
The wings of silver tears
Batting against my cheek
The little bulb flickering
As I drift away to sleep
Never before have I felt
Such a sense of delight
As when he graced me
With his sinple little light
For no matter the troubles
This wicked world may bring
I will never forget
This beautiful little thing
The times I get to have this gift
Are the moments I will always miss
