"Mm... That's- No, that's really interesting. What was the secret ingredient again?" Jesse was using every ounce of his willpower not to make a face as he tried the drink they'd been kind enough to make them. If he lived through this party, it might just be a miracle now. @tfrstarters

Nilay was passing by when she noticed the look on Jesse's face and stopped abruptly in her tracks. "Jesse!" She beamed, pulling him towards her and away from the wannabe bartender. "Excuse us, I need to borrow him for a moment." Guiding him to the other side of the room, she took the drink from his hand and deposited it on a passing tray. "Jesse, I beg of you, please don't drink anything when you don't know all of the ingredients."

Dawson was not only looking for some inspiration but also to make some connections with local owners. If there were a way to break into the New York art scene, he was going to pursue it. Nobody could say that he didn't work his ass off for his passion. "Fair enough, it is a great colour palette." He grinned, nodding his head. "It is me. Dawson Wren, we never exchanged names."

"Nilay Levent." She held out a hand for him to shake before turning back to the painting again. "It is good, I'm just not in the best mood today and it's affecting my judgement." NIlay released a soft sigh and took a moment to try to figure him out; he had been speaking about art theory before and now he was looking at art, but if he was an art student like her perhaps he had already graduated? "What brings you to the gallery today? Business or pleasure?"

Latife was sat across from Lucas Baizen and her sister in the car that was taking them to the Hamptons and she was suss! There wasn't anything being explicitly said- as if there'd ever been anything explicit happening with the likes of Lucas Baizen- but there was a vibe. Yeah, there was totally a vibe right now. Why was Nilay touching his arm for the third time? They were distracting her from touching up her lip liner! Closing her compact, Latife looked over at them both, raising her eyebrows.

Nilay had been laughing at something Lucas was saying when Latife very swiftly changed the subject, sounding very accusatory. "What do you mean?" Her brow furrowed in confusion, but even as she appeared to have no idea what her sister was talking about, her hand slowly retracted from Lucas' arm. Nothing was going on–not in the way that Latife undoubtedly meant it! This was Elizabeth's little brother, something would be scandalous! Nilay's wide eyes shifted to Lucas as a blush crept on to her cheeks. Were the three of them not simply having a nice time?

Lucas had intended to avoid the Vanderbilt party by attending the gallery instead, but with news of his sister being there, and him being here, that suddenly got awfully convoluted. He had to leave. He knew he had to leave. In the process of doing just that, however, he'd spotted someone utterly insignificant. Nilay Levent, nibbling on cheese.

He'd thought about her a lot since Logan's party - nay, he'd schemed. She was so innocent in life that he'd be immune to Gossip Girl's limelight with her wrapped around his arm. Those little mentions in her obnoxious blasts would seize - Nilay was way too boring for GG to try to spin a story out of. She suited Luke's agenda perfectly. Her astounding naivety would singlehandedly keep his façade up, and he could afford to loosen up when the time was right.

He knew he'd have to work slowly to seem genuine in his pursuit. Cater to her romanticized ideals. This, however, was as good a place as any to start. She seemed awfully preoccupied with assorted cheeses, and, annoyingly, some of the artists in attendance, but Lucas could work with that. He always could. "You're a lot braver than I am, Nilay. I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to fine cheeses. Which one would you recommend?" He nodded to the plate before meeting her eye with a sweet-as-can-be smile, "it's great to see you again."

Nilay had been so enthralled with the various cheeses and one particularly handsome artist that she hadn't noticed when Lucas had approached her. Hearing his voice at her side, she did a little jump, almost dropping her cracker and getting camembert smooshed into her hand. "Oh, heavens." A soft laugh escaped her and she turned to him. "Lucas!" She beamed, popping the remains of the cracker into her mouth. Much to her dismay, there were no napkins near them, so she brought her hand to her mouth and very delicately attempted to lick the cheese from her fingers–not the best look for her!

"Oh, I'm sure you're not a novice at anything." Still though, she turned her attention to the spread before them and prepared him a cracker. "Here, try this. It's manchego. It's a little similar to cheddar. We can start here and build up to the blue cheese." She laughed again and held the cracker out to him. His smile was infectious and she simply couldn't help but smile back at him. "It's great to see you too. Is Elizabeth here with you?"

Elizabeth had been invited by Juliette and Sapphire, both of whom had a clue about her wild side. She wasn't sure whether they wanted her to bring out the wild side in Jesse or if her good-girl act was supposed to be a match. But who was she to turn down a party in the Hamptons? She didn't have to want Jesse to join in.

"No, I am good. Just water for now."

Nilay shrugged one shoulder and returned the glass of wine to a passing tray, holding on to her own. "Alright. Let me know if you change your mind and I'll flag down another tray." It was very rarely that she had ever seen Elizabeth drink, but this was definitely one of the wilder party's she had attended and she was a little concerned about her friend's comfort. "Are you doing okay? You don't usually make an appearance at these things."

Dawson had been holed up in his studio working on some new pieces. He had been inspired by all the romance and drama he had seen at Logan's party; it had been quite the introduction to the place he was calling home. If every part proved to be this inspiring, his dry spells with his art would be a thing of the past. Today, he was taking in some local art by going to a few galleries.

He walked past a few pieces, mostly just wanting to compare himself to them. "What do you think of this one?"

Nilay had been looking for a gallery or museum to volunteer at while she continued with college and was having no luck at all. Everywhere seemed to have filled their volunteer requirements and this gallery was no different. She was currently wallowing and glaring at their displays when someone spoke at her side. "I think the clashing colours are giving me a headache." She huffed the words out before turning to face him and her furrowed brow relaxed. It was the guy she had met at Logan's party. "Hey, it's you."

Ever since she had put her card in the little letterbox, Nilay had been incredibly nervous about who she would be matched with. Speaking to people wasn't a challenge for her and she would never dare to sit out of a social event, but she could be matched with literally anyone! Being Valentine's Day, she wasn't sure what her match would be expecting from her, and with the thing they love being 'Chilling', she wasn't sure what to expect from them either. Maybe they would just want to hang out and watch a movie?

Entering the room, the contents really weren't putting her at ease–her eyes had immediately locked in on those massage oils and she was almost tempted to hide them. In what world would a massage be happening? It was just as she was biting down into one of the chocolate covered strawberries that the door opened and, with her mouth full and lips covered in chocolate, all she could do was wave as she struggled to swallow.

Nilay couldn't help but smile at his clear distress, frankly glad that someone else had struggled with this too. "Um... I put colour coordination, but I feel like I maybe should have put something more interesting."

At the sound of pure sunshine Lucas could do nothing but return the sentiment with a brilliant smile, but it didn't quite succeed in drawing his full attention. Something was going on back there. "Thank you, Nilay. It's no outrageous Valentino but we do appreciate Celine." She drew his attention only through her cluelessness to her surroundings. Oh Nilay, so good, so pure, so utterly fucking useless. "A shame, but I'm sure we'll hear all about it later." Crossing that possibility off the list, the least he could do now was pay her some attention. She did look absolutely perfect, as expected. "Only you could do this justice." Any UES parent's wet dream.

"I thought I might give it a go, but there's no one in particular, to be honest. Not yet, anyway." He hid a scoff behind a chuckle at her admission. How had 'high' society not eaten her alive yet? "You can always turn around once you've opened that door. I say you should go for it."

"Absolutely! And you wear it so well, too." Nilay beamed, desperately fighting against the urge to pinch his cheeks; he wasn't much younger than her, could she calm down? "Oh, I'm sure. Nothing stays secret around here." She sighed softly, remembering how awful she had felt when Gossip Girl had exposed everything that had happened with Latife and Jake, and her involvement in it. "I just hope that they get whatever it is resolved without incident." Here in the Upper East Side, though, that seemed unlikely. "Oh, thank you. You're too kind." Lucas was such a sweetheart.

"I suppose that's true, but it would also be incredibly rude of me." Nilay practically gasped at the thought, a hand over her heart. "Oh, it's all just so exciting and terrifying." But still, she pulled her card out and wrote something down. "Well, whoever ends up paired with you should consider themselves very lucky. I hope it's someone you can have a pleasant time with."

Dawson loved any chance to make new friends in the city, and his art had been getting more attention. Being able to meet new people to help further his career, this was the room to be in tonight. Some of the faces he knew distinctly, but mostly it was a crowd he didn't know well.

He was standing near the bar alone, checking the card he hadn't managed to fill out yet. He knew what he loved, but what would sound the best. "Which sounds worse, loving seventeenth-century art history or talking about art theory?"

At first, Nilay hadn't realised she was being spoken to, but at the mention of art history and theory, her interest was piqued. Thanking the bartender for her drink, she turned to him with a smile on her face. "Oh, I don't think you can go wrong with either." She beamed, always far too excited to discuss art with others. "Do you have a favourite piece from back then?"

What did Lucas Baizen love? Out there in the masses of socialites, no-bodies, and could-be's at this party, there was a strategic answer. Who did he want to be in the eyes of any of these people tonight?

He shuffled the card in his hand as he quietly analysed the elaborate scene, the overdressed people, and the dull conversations happening around him. If he couldn't find the most advantageous answer soon, he simply would not post it. That was plan C. "What's the story there?" He asked a passer-by, something in the back of the room having caught his interest, perhaps enough to inspire an answer for this game.

Nilay turned at the sound of Elizabeth's little brother's voice, smiling brightly. "Lucas! Oh my goodness, you look so handsome! That coat is incredible!" Finally noticing that his attention was on something behind her, she looked over at the scene with confusion on her face. "I can't say I have any idea." Gossip wasn't really her thing and she hoped that whatever it was, it resolved quickly.

Bringing her attention back to him, she grinned at the card in his hand. "Oh, you're taking part in the match ups? Is there someone you're hoping to be paired with?" Nilay was still on the fence about whether or not she would participate. "I might be a bit too nervous to do it myself."

A Little Extra

Nilay Levent has never been caught with a hair out of place. As of yet, not one bad photo has been located of her and you shouldn’t start making any bets about one emerging. Perfect isn’t easy but it is Nilay. She loves coloured coordinating her outfits (pastels are a fave), getting her nails French manicured and clipping a well placed bow into her glossy locks. Education has always been her number one priority. No one was going to buy Nilay into her spot at an Ivy League, she was going to earn it. Fight for it. She spends much of her free time studying or tucked away with a good book and calming chamomile tea. Nilay always liked to keep herself to herself and had decided long ago it’d be over her dead body that she ever ended up splashed inappropriately across Gossip Girl. Nilay has never missed a weekend trip to the Hamptons or an invitation to a ‘can’t-miss’ party, she just knows how to control how much fun she has. Tequila was, after all, supposed to be sipped.

This, among many other things, makes Nilay the opposite of her twin sister Latife. While Nilay has always been a very private person, Latife opens her life up to her thousands of Instagram followers every single say. She does adore Latife, she’s her best friend and she admires how bright, confident and loud she is. Latife has always been one of those people you either love or love to hate, and Nilay has no time for anyone who chooses to hate her. What Does Gossip Girl Have On Them?

Nilay Levent has absolutely nothing to do with Gossip Girl, thank you very much and she does not appreciate you spreading such a rumour. Well, until her good friend Jesse Walker said ‘pretty please’. One thing she’s not proud of? When Nilay found out her twin had pretended to be her to mess around with Jake Hunter, she had to step in. Latife got bored and ghosted Jake (like she always does) but Nilay couldn’t have that be her reputation. So, she had to break up with him gently even though she’d never been in the relationship to begin with!

Connections

Latife Levent - twin sister! Latife is Nilay’s best friend and favourite person in the world. On a surface level, they don’t really have much in common but they do have a truly breakable bond.

Sophia Vandervort and Baby Beaumont - study buddies from Constance Billard. Nilay enjoyed their company and small talk.

Sapphire Vandervort - on a night when Latife insisted she come out to a party, she met a very inebriated Sapphire Vandervort. Vulnerable things were confessed and Nilay was sworn to secrecy.

The thing about birthdays is that they should be special. But being twins it always felt like hers had to be shared, well in a way it was shared due to Nilay having the same date of birth. So when she walked into her condo, she bumped into her sister soon enough. Giving her three kisses on the cheek, she asked:" So what do we want our birthday to look like this year - whose invited - who isn't invited, and most importantly, can I choose the cake flavor?"

The thing about birthdays is that most people had to celebrate them alone with an insane amount of attention directed towards them, but being a twin, Nilay didn't have to celebrate by herself. Her birthday was a day to be shared with the most amazing person- her best friend- Latife. When Latife appeared, Nilay couldn't help but grin and pull her into a hug. "Oh, I have a Pinterest board! I'll send you a link later." She beamed, taking her sister's hand. "I was thinking we could maybe do a real classy black and white theme. There's a little bakery just outside of Brooklyn that does some amazing cake decorating, so I could send you their list of flavours, if you want?"
