Hi! I wwanted to ask you about something you mentioned in your post about nonbinary characters. Specifically this:

I was wondering if you could clarify what you mean? Maybe I'm just dumb, but to me it just seems like there really aren't many ways to describe something like a vulva for example. Like, what makes a description fit a cis woman but not a nonbinary character (or even a trans man)?
As mentioned in the original post, this is subjective: people find different things hot, someone might find the same thing hot or not in different contexts; one nonbinary person will find different things hot or unpleasant even if they have the same anatomy. Seeing the bit you quoted, I've actually gone back and edited it to say "can be deeply unpleasant if not written carefully" because it is possible to write the same description for different genders when done carefully (shoutout to my wife's Heart of Battle which I think does this well).
So, please don't take this as a blanket statement on behalf of everyone.

Anatomical terms
I strongly feel that if you're writing a customisable MC, use of gendered anatomical terms should mostly be opt-in for trans MCs*.
Yes it would be nice if those words never made anyone dysphoric or were considered gender-neutral by everyone. No that's not the world that players exist in. So please don't assume that a transmasc person will find words like pussy etc applied to their anatomy hot; don't assume that a transfem person will find words like dick etc applied to their anatomy hot. Some will, some won't.
When words like that get used for my trans MC without my choice, or without having been specified somewhere by the author (eg in content notes or something), it throws me out of the narrative and makes me wonder what the author's thoughts and intentions are in doing that.
If you're writing about these body parts for trans characters there are plenty of ways of describing them without saying specific words: they don't have to be overly flowery or silly or euphemistic, there's a lot of room for variety as well.
*there can certainly be exceptions - MCs with set ways in which they think about their body, MCs that don't realise they're trans yet, etc etc. But for the most part I very much prefer it to be opt-in.
Physical descriptions
I'd expect a high-heat sex scene aimed at a cis female PC to include references to her being wet, describe how her breasts feel when touched, and if vaginal penetration is happening, to go into detail about how that feels. If a trans man/transmasc character who's not had bottom surgery gets this kind of scene, a transmasc player may not find that affirming or hot, and may find it actively dysphoric.
(a sidenote on penetration and other specific acts: the joy of writing interactive sex scenes is that you can enable the player to choose what they want to do! Don't assume they'll want to do that one thing, give them options and it'll be much more fun.)
I'd expect a high-heat sex scene aimed at a cis male PC to include references to being hard, how particular sensations feel on or around his penis, how it feels physically and emotionally to ejaculate, etc. As above, getting this description for a trans woman/transfem character who's not had bottom surgery may not feel at all great for a transfem player.
(Some trans players might find these scenarios hot and fun, but it's better not to assume that this will be the case.)
So, it's worth being aware of the ways in which those descriptions might land. If an author has written "one description for MCs with vaginas" and "the other description for MCs with penises" they might work fantastically and be very hot for cis characters. Or trans characters who are into that kind of description. But that won't apply to all trans players.
Again there's no need to reinvent the wheel in descriptions. Sex can be a whole variety of things, not just a narrow selection; plenty of acts and sensations are gender-neutral.
Gender-affirming healthcare
I don't see it often, especially in games that include erotica, but I love seeing games that account for MCs having accessed gender-affirming healthcare.
I won't go into this in detail because this is already long, I'm in no way an expert, and everyone's bodies are different. But being aware that nonbinary people can and do take HRT and have surgery (or magical/scifi equivalents) and writing accordingly goes a long way. Tons of people out there have shared their experiences with HRT, surgery, and what it's like to have sex and/or to be touched intimately having accessed gender-affirming healthcare of many kinds. Have a look around and do some research - even if you've medically transitioned yourself, you won't have experienced every facet of it, heh.
There's endless amount of effort and detail you can put into this kind of thing. And you won't have scope to do everything possible - you have to stop at some stage and there are diminishing returns. (There are points in the Honor Bound sex scenes where sentence fragments branch five or six ways depending on anatomy/cisness, and that's a lot. I could have probably branched more broadly.) But a little goes a long way. When it works, it really does work.
To expand on the gender-affirming care thing, one of the reasons a description like the ones given as examples for cis women and cis men might not feel good for a trans person with the same birth genitalia is that, beyond dysphoria, it might inadvertently make factually inaccurate assumptions about the player in an immersion-breaking way.
Some people's bodies don't get wet on T or don't get hard on E—or may not do whichever reliably. HRT can also change your perception of how and where you feel arousal in your body, meaning a cis person's first impulse for how to describe the character feeling aroused could be "flipped". Trans people on T, for example (as I have more experience with that), might particularly appreciate focus on their erections. Though I have known trans men not on T who refer to themselves as "hard" when aroused. Everyone technically has the tissue. Nuance!
After top surgery, a lot of people have decreased sensation in their chest area. Sometimes it can still be pleasurable to touch, if the dice fall the right way for your particular surgery method and anatomy, but they warn you in advance to assume sexual sensation will be kaput bc that's the more common outcome. People often end up with unresponsive nipples in particular.
So with this context, if I were reading a story that was like "oh MC, a transmasc nonbinary person who is meant to be a player insert, is wet (and not hard) and NPC is touching MC's breasts and MC can feel their nipples stiffening from the pleasure" it would be not just dysphoria-inducing but alienatingly incorrect.
I totally agree, thank you for the addition! it also doesn't feel great to have been headcanoning a trans MC having medically transitioned in some way because of not having been given an option either way and then to realise - usually during an explicit scene - that the author's not accounting for it.
At that point I'd prefer the game to specify earlier on that the MC hasn't had HRT or surgery so that it's either clear in my mind for a trans MC, or I can restart and play as a cis character instead without having to replay too much.

If you’re an 80’s baby like me & stuck in that “Indy-ennui” of 🇺🇸 right now, having lost that feeling we had growing up when we were secure in a child’s belief that Nazis were only scary movie villains, thanks to the heroism & sacrifices of the Greatest Generation during WWII. In addition to Indy, I had the gripping stories of my grandpa fighting Nazis in France, as a tail-gunner in the Air Force. My grandpa & so many other troops from countries who are OUR FRIENDS & ALLIES fought & defeated the Nazis in WWII.
The Allied Forces won. The Axis of Evil lost. My history books in school told me so. My grandpa told me so. Hollywood told me so. Then, Charlottesville showed me something different.
Much of what I thought I knew, so much of what we were taught in school… Oops. Of course, US history class never covered the critical differences between Constitutional norms & standards & why that might matter since apparently we learned our lesson with Watergate & Nixon…
So, where is 🇺🇸 today? Not all will call this administration Nazis, but take a good look at what they say & what they do & read up on the concepts behind Project 2025 & brush up on your history. If you’re not down for history book reading, there’s plenty of true historical stuff in this game & if you have a hard time making decisions for yourself about politics or just right vs wrong, play this game for some perspective from the different characters that the MC encounters & the choices of the era & maybe they can help you through some feelings & you might gain some insight. Maybe not. Maybe you just want to punch a Nazi because you fucking want to. That’s cool, too.
I am sorry (not sorry) for my inability to think about anything but this post almost nonstop as I mentally map out The Road So Far & The Road Ahead & how this feels very “Team Free Will: Die Hard Wayward Son” to me because Baby’s trunk is open… because “we’ve got work to do” but say what now…? So the trunk stays open… open-ended because this is SEASON 5 but are we in one of Chuck’s other mindfucks? Is Baby in the video foreshadowing or will Baby be bring Dean into The Boys universe from when we last saw him on The Winchesters (Timelord Dean!).

And what if Bobby is Robert Singer but a different version like John & Mary & everyone else we’ve seen in the different realities who are themselves but not quite the versions from Sam & Dean’s original timeline… I feel like they’re poised to reference some things from SPN (besides the 💙🐘💚 the bunker) in a notably important moment in our own timeline as a faltering democracy seemingly intent on opening the Gates of Hell & unleashing 🇺🇸 apocalypse on humanity (I am deeply ashamed of & horrified by the man in the Oval Office pretending to be King. My grandfathers fought against fascism in WWII… I keep thinking about how they would look at what’s happening here if they were still alive & it isn’t a nice thought…). But that brings me to WE HAVE WORK TO DO, BITCHES!

And then, remember when Dean killed Hitler? How he was all like, fuck yeah, let’s Indiana Jones some Nazis? And that bit with the bad man resigning because fuck him & I think about that clip so much… And Soldier Boy… no love lost for sure. So maybe… maybe Dean is Soldier Boy & Bobby comes back with Dean & do a Dave switch with Singer (Baby = Tardis = anything can happen). They save that universe’s earth from evil first to wrap up the actual show they’re supposed to be on… The Boys… but! Dean has unfinished business, dammit! He has someone he has to save & dammit, they need to say some things.
Picture this: In Soldier Boy’s final ep on The Boys, imagine if he says “we’ve got work to do” & closes the trunk of the Impala in The Boys universe while looking down into it as Soldier Boy only to then open it & is looking down into the trunk as Dean & Sam is next to him.
And then this is truly when my brain starts melting because & I start considering the who what how of it all & The Road Ahead & Destiel is FUCKING CANON & season 16 & then what? And Misha is not making my brain melt any less because he invites the chaos & I love him for it because suddenly, I feel like I have a reason to feel hopeful. That this source of joy that has fueled my very soul for years is in some way returning (even if it’s just only on The Boys as theoretically unrelated characters & no reboot, it still feels like some sort of Matrix-level subtext shit that cannot be denied. Destiel is canon. Jeopardy said so therefore it’s like the most official pop culture historical record shit out there, short of something being made into an iconic gif or meme & well, I think we’ve def got that one covered (does SPN have a gif / meme fore everything? 🫠).

Recently tried explaining this SPN Ghostfacers scene to my mom. Not sure if I explained it very well, but she did eventually ask if this was a Destiel thing with the subtext & wanted to know who these Ghostfacers were in bigger picture. Based on the novel The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas, as well as subsequent media inspired by and related to it.
After the tragic death of your father, you travel to Paris to join the famed King’s Musketeers, and end up meeting (and upsetting) the three best Musketeers in the garrison. Impressed by your skills and your determination, as well as your willingness to help those in need, the trio invite you to join their team.

Athos/Athena is the second in command of the Musketeers, the leader of the Inseparables, and is barely holding their head up above water. Meeting you is an awakening for them, and suddenly, all they want is to live again.
Conrad/Constance Bonacieux [M/F]

Conrad/Constance hides a fierce heart and adventurous spirit beneath their gentle disposition. Married to a man who they hold no affection for, and who treats them like part of the furniture, Conrad/Constance chafes against their banal life, dreaming of excitement and thrills. When you literally crash into their life, they realise that this is the opportunity they’ve been waiting for.
Despite a somewhat…rocky first meeting, Bonacieux is the first truly friendly face you meet when you arrive in Paris. They even offer you a room to rent in their home, and often go out of their way to help you in your duties.
Nasira bin Sinan [NB]

Lazy and care-free, Nasira is seemingly unbothered by the goings-on of the Capital or by their sworn duties. Despite this, Nasira is well-liked by their fellows and often trusted to complete high-priority covert missions that rely on stealth by the Captain. Through this, you quickly start to realise that nothing about Nasira is as it seems.
Nasira is somewhat of an enigma, and the missions that they undertake only heighten that. Join Nasira on these missions and learn valuable skills as well as more about the Musketeer that keeps everyone guessing.
Jules/Juliette de Rochefort [M/F]

The most ruthless of the Cardinal’s Agents, Jules/Juliette is determined to destroy the Musketeers, and is willing to do anything to achieve that goal. Intelligent and calculating, it was only a matter of time before their ambition drove them to extremes, and now they’ve set their sights on you. In Jules/Juliette’s eyes, you’re the key to their success.
Rochefort believes they can manipulate you into betraying the Musketeers. It’s time for you to prove them wrong, and turn this back on Rochefort to protect your fellows. Just try not to fall in love in the process.
So beyond excited for this one… my friends & I were obsessed with the ‘93 version of The Three Musketeers & went as them for Halloween several years in a row. I was D’artagnan. We had totally awesome, super dangerous, and totally unfit for children homemade swords. Amazing we survived childhood… good times! ⚔️❤️⚔️
So I saw some comments suggesting making Castiel as his 1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V, so I went ahead with it, and then I was like “why not add it into the poster” and then I said, “why not make some Deanpala fanart to go with it” and then it just got carried away and adding a logo, and uh here it is.
Midway through drawing this, my partner caught me. I didn't realize he'd come up behind me until he said "that's cute" and my face turned hot and i yelled "DO NOT PERCIEVE ME!"
‘your parents just want what’s best for you’ that is objectively not true for a lot of people, sometimes they want what’s best for them or what looks the best to other people, or what they think is best for you is based on outdated, backwards and messed up values & beliefs. even if their intentions aren’t bad doesn’t mean they even remotely know what’s good for you
