Rest in peace Kaylee...
I was absolutely devastated when I heard the news. You will be missed...
( I know I'm late, but I wanted to pay a small tribute to her as well. Sorry if it looks rushed)
And all you had to do was turn yourself into...this...freakin thing.
Just to lose a fight you were gonna lose anyway.
Amazing Spiderman 373
"WHAT THE FUCK AM I EVEN LOOKING AT HERE"
"THE ULTIMATE SPIDER SLAYER!"
"No really
HOW did you turn yourself into this
WHY did you turn yourself into this
What are we doing here man"
"FITE ME"
"fuck my life...."
I remeber this arc from the 90s show.....I feel like I remeber him looking just as disturbing
I love how even after he stopped working for Kingpin he then wound up working for Silvermane and was just like "Bad news, my new boss ALSO wants you dead" XD
A truly staggering amount of people want Peter dead
Yeah, I do vividly remember "my new employer is, ALSO your enemy".
"And once again, I find myself working for promises..."
and then he goes and henches for the Red Skull for the Secret Wars arc
I love that in episode Smythe is just being offered new employ from Doctor Octopus and eventually joins the heroes so he can be the one to backstab both.
Energon Universe GI Joe is very good. I'm pretty sure this is the first Joshua Williamson title I've read and he's really knocking it out of the park, especially when teamed up with artists like Tom Reilly and Andrea Milana. Issue 24 has me very excited for the next issue.
Risk apparently doesn't read much fantasy or supernatural fiction. Crystal Ball perhaps read too much, lol.
Also, I do appreciate that Williamson seems to be taking some cues from Larry Hama about inserting little critiques of the American military. Williamson has put in more than one little nudge to the amoral nature of the military industrial complex
And, boy! Destro is stirring himself up quite an explosive mess by very visibly vibing with Baroness in front of Astoria. I'm torn. I love Astoria and liked Destro firing off nuclear weapons to impress her in his miniseries. But also, Destro and Baroness are the GI Joe OTP (I'd say tied with Scarlett and Snake Eyes, but writers to to shuffle who she gets with more often than Baroness). Either way, Destro is not doing himself favors.
Also, there is a little more of Cobra Commander and the Valkyrie and I am foaming at the mouth over these little interactions. I wanna see where this leads so very bad!!! I suspect he's going to do some sort of experimentation on her? The way he's taking advantage of her loyalty is just very appealing in a dark and twisted sense. Plus, it's interesting she's still using the broken helmet. Symbolic of her desire to be used by him? Pride in saving his life? (Also, from a meta sense, to signify to the reader this is the same character.)
And hohoho boy! The ending of the chapter?
I was waiting for your reaction on CC and the Valkyrie page.
Even in a AU the aura vibing of Destro and Baroness is still strong between them.
RIP crystal Ball, gone too soon.

One thing I love in Star Fox Assault, is how Fox sees this:
And says:
The quiet horror of it. The fact that cornerian soldiers have been overtaken by aparoids. There is a non-zero chance that Fox or someone on the crew knows the person beneath that helmet. Now lost forever as part of the aparoid hivemind.
It's subtle foreshadowing for what happens to General Pepper. And I say subtle because I had to go through 3 freaking videos just to get that screencap of him saying the line.
Honestly, I wish Assault had shown more of the horror of the aparoid infection. Showed us soldiers in multiple stages of being overtaken. Maybe some could be saved... many cannot. Fox and crew have to take them out in order to stop the aparoids.
Even if it means shooting down someone who maybe once had been a friend.
To go along with the release of G.I. Joe Classified's Lara Croft figure, there's going to be an official G.I. Joe X Tomb Raider crossover comic, which is coming out in October, 2026, and, apparently, it's going to be in-continuity with Larry Hama's long running A Real American Hero comic.
I'm all for it TBH. While I don't know a whole lot about Tomb Raider, I feel like Lara and the crazy adventures she gets up to slot into G.I. Joe quite well.
This was a deleted scene in the crossover episode (trust)
It took me forever to dig this out of my camera roll

I reported on this before, but this is a big deal considering the attention Trigger gets when they do anything, even short promotional work. And I know it’s the longest of long shots, but…
Do it. For America. And to save the world from Skybound Animation.
Well today’s the day at 2:00pm PST, 5:00pm EST. So -

Genndy Tartakovsky, the legendary creator of Primal, is teaming with Prime Video and Cartoon Network Studios for a Conan series.
I've been waiting years for Conan to be given a quality animated show, and it seems as if my wish has been granted. It helps that I trust Genndy to pull it off, given that Primal is very much pulp Sword & Sorcery coded.
First season will be an adaptation of the Queen of the Black Coast.
Random 40K Crossover Thoughts
Is it possible that I have somehow NOT exposed all of y'all to me irritatingly vague ideas for 40k/Redwall and 40k/GI Joe fusionfic worldbuilding?
Should I do so?
And just typing htis makes me want to do a 40K/Animorphs Fusionfic-Worlbduilging project. Like, it wouldn't take that much tweaking to make the Yeerks and Andalites fit, if you did them together but the Andalites are actually really similar to the Tau in a bunch of ways, so not sure if worth it?
As a matter of fact there was post that did just that. But it was more what if the imperiam created the equivalent of GI joe based on the guardsmen as propaganda like the cartoon.
Is this something I did? Or did someone else?
If the latter, I need the link.
That's not quite what my idea was, though.
Here ya go
💬 5 🔁 59 ❤️ 79 · I nominate the Orks to be this shows equivalent to "The Dreadknoks" with Snikrot as zartan
Noice.
Uh, anyways. My proposal:
At first, the Imperium thought it was just a Chaos cult. But it very quickly turned out to be something grander and more disturbing. For it was not on one world or a few worlds that the serpent flag was flown; across the galaxy the fearful cry is raised, from underhive gangers to (whatever level is just below the High Lords), and beyond; among the Aeldari and the Tau, the Orks and the Traitor Legions, even among the Necrons and Tyranids, there can be found, both openly and from the shadows, those who have given themselves over to the cause of overthrowing the many powers of the galaxy in favor of a single Commander. Who is he? WHAT is he? What lies behind that hood or visored helm? Whether Man or Xenos, Mutant or Daemon, or something else entirely, no one knows.
(obviously this is kinda setting breaking, but like...so is canon Cobra)
Obviously, an extraordinary threat like this requires an extraordinary response, and so. A force is put together comprising the best of the Imperial military. Mostly IG, but also drawing on the Navy, the Inquistion the Assassinourm, the Sororitas, the Titan Legions, the Astartes, etc. etc.
The trick is then deciding who is what. Like, obviously, Roadblock is a Space Marine of some sort. Dial-Tone is a Tech-Priest, Snake Eyes is an Adamus Assassin, Chuckles is an Inquisitor, Law and Order are an Arbites and his Cyber-Mastiff, and I kinda fell off from there. Though it might be funny if instead of making someone a Commissar, we instead have Ciaphas Cain forced out of retirement to do it.
O'er at Cobra, not sure who's what; the Dreadnoks as Orks makes sense, but how do the Z-sibs work then? Mindbender as a Haemonculus?
Meanwhile, the October Guard are T'au.
And that's what I got so far.
How did I miss this reblog?!
Okay so reading this I dig it a new force that is corrupting all known factions to form a new independent force. Led by an enigmatic figure of unknown origin or species. Promising to topple the current powers that be and shattering the wheel.
I dig it, what of the genestealers? Are they the overwhelming Cobra troopers that make up the army?
Glad we are on the same page as the Orks. I had it suggested that they we're a Bloodaxe group calling themselves "Da dread Narcz"
Good stuff on the imperium for Cobra I could see:
Destro as a necron dynasty lord
Baroness a human formerly of tzeench providing tactical info and desire to topple the old regimes
Zartan a Harlequin eldar
Major bludd a chaos general
Overkill: a Iron warrior
Tomax and Xamot: former twin imperium lords for the financial
Gensetealers as Blueshirts makes sense, yeah.
These all make sense, yes. There are issues, IE how does Destro and Baroness' romance work if he's a Necron and she's...not, and how do we get the Z-sibs as leaders of the Da Dread Narkz if they're Eldar Harlequins? But that is something we can work on.
Bio-Vipers are 'Nids, yeah?
Cesspool and his guys as some kinda ex-Nurglites?
Is Raptor a Raptor?
Hmm you are right, perhaps Destro is a high ranking Imperium rogue trader gone rogue?
I was thinking maybe the Nids are Cobra La.
Like the idea of Cesspool as a Ex-nurglite!
Oh even better for Raptor, an Adeptus Administratum!
Yeah, that works for Destro. But we do need a Necron.
'Nids as Cobra-la is sensible, though making Pythona not-hawt upsets me.
Yeah, that makes sense for Raptor. And look 40K already has at least three different groups of SMs called Raptors so why not?
WRT Major Bludd, are we thinking he's a Traitor Marine or a Damogaur of the Blood Pact or what?
If the Z-Sibs are Harlequins, despite leading a bunch of Orks, Zanzibar is definitely also Aeldari. Man already has a jetbike.
Crystal Ball. Eldar Farseer? Thousand Son? Generic Chaos Sorcerer?
Back to GI Joe. I think Mainframe is a Skitarii? Helix as a Sister of Battle? Shipwreck was definitely a Rogue Trader. Heavy Duty is also an SM, from a different Chapter then Roadblock, but with the same genesire. Grunt is Cadian? Steeler's Armageddon Steel Legion?
Actually, maybe we should flip it around? Pick a 40K character-type and then find a Joe (or Cobra) who fits?
Also, given that part of the Oktober Guard's schtick is that they're even bigger maniacs than the Joes, maybe they should be Asuryani instead of T'au?
"though making Pythona not-hawt upsets me."
You underestimate the power of the Gijinka. Also we have the "Queen of blades" for reference.
For Bludd I was thinking a traitor guardsmen general.
For GI joe
Adhumans for joes? Yeah that works.
Dial tone as a adeptus mechanicus
Flip it around. I'm cool with that what did you have in mind
