AU Real!Gustave/Writer!Gustave idea that would not leave my head.

There's this post by @glouris that I saw and she goes into a bunch little details and stuff from the game. But it left me with this concept that just would not go away so I had to draw it. A lot of the inspiration I used for this came from her post, I recomend just checking it out it was pretty interesting.

Anyway, I've fallen onto the verstave train so that's basically the base of this idea. Say there is a real world Gustave who's a Writer, and he and Verso are 'close'. Engaged, married, secret lovers, whatever. But their relationship is significant and known enough that Aline painted a version of Gustave with the Painted!Dessendres.

So not our Gustave who we know and love, but another version of him who's been around since expedition zero like Verso. Our Gustave would still exist tho. Maybe Aline unintentionally painted him again as her mental state declines from being in the canvas? Maybe Real!Gustave entered the canvas with Maelle?

Me and my friend discussed his name maybe being 'Noah'? Like an Alicia/Maelle situation? A nod to how Gustave's starting weapon is Noahram?

His uniform is sort of a mix between both Verso and Gustave, but I leaned the design more towards Verso because I wanted them to look like they went together. The black hair is because he's a Writer. Like how the Painter's hair turns white in the canvas, maybe a Writer's hair would turn/be black?

Maybe he joins expedition 33 with Verso after our Gustave dies? Hence the hiding his face. Maybe he's on Painted!Renoir's side? Maybe Exp. 33 finds him tucked away in some corner of the canvas, broken and painted over, and they have to confront this similar but not quite the same imitation of their dead friend? And Verso has to deal with the grief of fighting him? Killing him? Like Painted!Clea? Like Simon?

Like come on?

There's just...so much potential with this idea? I don't know guys I just really had to get this out of my head.
