This is how I imagine a Kid sukea - Kid Iruka encounter The doodles are super bad because I'm tired, but I guess the saying, "Do it tired anyway," is something I'm going to apply today

Somebody is playing pranks on everyone, and no one knows who it is. There is a list of suspects that varies between kids, pre-genin, and genin, the thing is that all suspects are super sneaky and their lips are sealed. Team 7 takes the mission of discovering who is, so everyone tries to infiltrate those groups and with a disguise, Minato thinks is a great exercise of infiltration with no lethal results.

So, Sukea finds Iruka and the other kids watching how one Anbu gets pranked. They are Witnesses, but Sukea doesn't have any evidence that they were the ones who pranked the Anbu; they just witnessed it.

So, Iruka kinda of kidnapped Sukea to have fun. They have fun and end as friends. Kakashi never learned until years later that the master mind of all those pranks IS Iruka, he just never witnessed one because: Iruka - "Why would I show that to one civilian kid? Imagine if something went wrong!! look at this scar! is because one of my pranks backfired! And I don't want you to get involved in something like that" Kakashi infiltration tactic failed because Iruka never shared with anyone that he was the master mind behind all the pranks. When Sukea appeared, Iruka focused on having "normal fun" with the socially awkward kid.

Kakashi never connected the dots that no pranks succeeded when he was playing with Iruka because he was too distracted having fun and semi-learning to be less socially awkward.

au where minato’s seal was faulty to begin with so he kinda sealed kurama with naruto rather than sealing kurama in naruto

the first few years of naruto’s life isn’t much different cause kurama is recovering from getting himself split in half and doesn’t think to do much beside sleep to recover and generally rage at being trapped again

eventually naruto has more autonomy and sense of identity and still goes through dealing with hate from the village

i think around the time naruto starts at the academy would be a good time to have kurama get involved because that’s when naruto starts accessing his chakra which is mixed with kurama’s so it would give me an excuse to say this is when he accidentally lands in their shared mindscape

also i think this is around the time naruto’s anbu guards stop watching him super closely so it gives naruto a little more leeway in his behavior change without being too noticed

Heal Bite AU pt3

iruka whips his head around for any observers and catches teuchi with eyes wide between naruto’s arm and his own

he makes eye contact with the older man as teuchi’s eyes harden on his and knows that teuchi will keep this quiet, and from the way he points to the back entrance of the restaurant ‘employees only’ the older man must know iruka will ensure it too

he shushes naruto and ushers him inside through the door into a storage room and attached kitchen, watching for anyone and sighing when he senses no one else, teuchi must have called his daughter to help him up front

“hey! iruka-sensei! what’s the big idea! did i do something wrong?” naruto’s voice catches his attention in the way the last part was spoken with hesitance, naruto’s turned around to face him, his hands fidgeting and eyes wide as though he’s about to be scolded

iruka softens his posture and crouches, taking naruto’s hands in his own much bigger ones “no naruto, you didn’t do anything wrong. this is a wonderful gift that you have. you’ll save so many people with it.” iruka promises, but there’s danger that comes with any ability that can instantly undo chakra exhaustion, especially if it heals injuries and restores fatigue with it, it’s like a fix-it-all miracle cure

konoha may be kinder than other villages with tighter knit teams and better relationships between shinobi, but that doesn’t mean it can’t see a tool or an asset where a person stands, and a jinchuuriki with naruto’s personality (always seeking for attention, acknowledgment) sitting powerless in a hospital with a miraculous healing ability is an easy one to exploit

“do you want to be a nurse or doctor with this power naruto?”

“no way! i already said i’m gonna be a shinobi! i’m gonna be the hokage ya’know!” iruka knew that would be his response but he still breathes a sigh of relief, at the very least a shinobi would have more power to protect themself than a civilian doctor

“well, but- i can still fix people with this as a shinobi right?”

“of course naruto. maybe you can become an iryo-nin and heal people on the field. they don’t do as much fighting but they’re incredibly valued and good healers are always in short supply.”

“then i’ll do that! a healer shinobi hokage sounds super cool ya’know!” but iruka’s still worried. a healer is trained to always avoid injury so naruto’s recklessness will benefit from it greatly but healers are also required to take a backseat in most fights and naruto’s not the type. he‘ll rush in to the frontlines and get injured with the meager offensive training most iryo-nin get.

iruka’s eyes wander to naruto’s arm where two scars are still present on otherwise unblemished skin, one from a cat and the other from him for a small wound that would have been gone in a week, his chest pangs at the thought of naruto getting permanent scars for such an unfair exchange, at the thought of more to come, he hardens his resolve and forces naruto to realize the seriousness of his request

“naruto i want you to keep this power a secret for now okay? don’t let anyone know you have it and don’t use it on anyone. i’ll help you train more after school so you can be an iryo-nin, but at least until you reach my rank don’t use it.” he’ll do research on naruto’s power in the meantime and see if there’s ways to improve and control it so naruto can’t be exploited

naruto must sense the gravity in iruka’s eyes seeing as he agrees with equal solemnity in his tone, though it disappears when he groans out complaints about not being able to use and reveal his newly discovered power

iruka’s smile softens at that

Kurama is done with humans, his vessel clearly wasn't being taken care of, and Naruto ends up raised away from Konoha by a skulk of spirit foxes and one very grumpy fox bijuu who has issues with intermittent bouts of rage against humans in general and idiotic seal masters in particular.

Hidden Uzumaki?? pt3

so i kinda word vomited on my first two posts abt my thoughts and i feel it wasn’t very coherent so for the sake of my notes and anyone who doesn’t want to go back through all that i’m just gonna do a more concise summary of the au here

the hidden uzumaki au is basically a what if there were more people from uzushio who survived it’s destruction and some escaped to konoha under disguises

in this au kushina was a sensor and could sense the unique quality of uzumaki chakra, which allowed her to discover and become close with some of the survivors of uzushio who came to konoha under disguise

current people of uzushio origins:

umino iruka: child of a refugee uzumaki couple who hid in konoha disguised under the “umino” name after uzushio’s destruction, he was born right after uzushio’s end, his parents joined konoha shinobi ranks and eventually became chunin, they’re both uzumaki but they’re branch members and only kohari(mom) inherited the red hair, she wore a brown dye so she wouldn’t be clocked, iruka got ikkaku’s(dad) hair and never knew mom’s real hair color, mom liked to doodle fuuinjutsu at home and let him watch her, he was never formally taught but grew up to create his own barrier fuuinjutsu as a result of childhood memories, he grows up unaware of his uzumaki heritage

- kushina was aware of them and visited under disguise as a cousin frequently, the parents knew her true identity but iruka didn’t, they celebrated naruto’s conception together but she was under watch and protection after so she couldn’t visit

maito gai: maito dai’s grandparents left uzushio around the time mito came to konoha, dai grew up with no knowledge of his uzushio connection, met gai’s mom, a non-uzumaki who escaped uzushio before it’s destruction (retired shinobi work in konoha), they had gai, who got mom’s personality with dad’s interests and quirks, got his tortoise summons from his mom who’s clan held the contract, maito gai is aware his mom was from uzushio since his dad told him but he doesn’t tend to tell people cause his dad also told him his mom kept it secret, most people assume he got his summons from his dad

- kushina was unaware of gai’s mom but recognized gai’s summon and visited gai on occasion, she didn’t disguise herself as she was already acquainted with gai’s dad and his mom was already dead so there was no secret identity to keep, due to his public connection to kushina he could not interact with naruto after his birth

uchiha obito: his uchiha dad met his uzumaki mom while stationed near uzushio during the 2SW before it’s destruction, fell in love and when he was meant to move stations he abandoned duty to be with her and is looked down upon by the uchiha clan as a result, had obito, uzushio is destroyed and mom dies during, dad and obito escape to konoha but dad dies soon after because Uchiha fall apart when their most loved one dies idk, obito would be abt age three or four when this happens, he goes to the academy and is raised by his grandma, doesn’t remember his parents and is unaware of his mom’s origins because the uchiha don’t wanna talk abt his parents and he suppressed most of his memory of before konoha due to trauma

- kushina was unaware of obito’s heritage and mom but saw herself in obito and felt he was familiar, he’s her favorite of minato’s students

senju tsunade & namikaze minato: half the namikaze came to konoha alongside uzumaki mito from uzushio as a protective vassal for mito and the senju clan, the namikaze are generally blonde with blue eyes, they’re fishers, weather warning and coast guard of uzushio with their wind nature, the namikaze in konoha declined as the senju did and minato grew up an orphan in his clan compound, tsunade’s mom is namikaze, both are aware of the namikaze clan’s origins and tsunade asked minato and kushina both if they would leave konoha with her, both refused

- kushina marries minato and was close to tsunade before she left konoha

haruno sakura (new!): kizashi(dad) is an uzumaki civilian who survived uzushio, lived as a traveling merchant and ended up in konoha where he married mebuki(mom) and took her last name, he had premature graying so his red hair didn’t need to be disguised cause it looked dirty pink, he had sakura, travels as a merchant to where he knows uzushio survivors are hiding on occasion, mom is from konoha (and a follower of ninshu where she got the circle symbol from, which i’m writing as a religious philosophy similar to daoism) and works as a nurse at the hospital with her high chakra control allowing her to perform iryo-ninjutsu despite being a civilian

- kushina was aware of kizashi and visited under disguise as a younger cousin, he didn’t know her true identity but knew she was a shinobi, she was invited to their wedding and pregnancy announcement, they were a civilian family so she didn’t mention her own pregnancy, just that she wouldn’t be able to visit for a while, they assumed she was on a long term mission and when she never came back they assumed she died

tenten (new!): both parents are non-uzumaki who escaped uzushio’s fall and met in konoha in their early 20s, recognized each other as being from uzushio, fell in love, married, and had two kids, a son (oc) and then a daughter(tenten), the son(tenkai) apprentices as a traveling merchant to bring wares of weapons back to sell at their family shop, tenten is aware of her heritage and looks up to tsunade as a role model as a result of their connection, the family became aware of the haruno family after tenkai’s apprenticeship under kizashi and are now close family friends

- kushina was unaware of them due to not sensing the unique uzumaki quality in their chakra

sabaku no gaara & siblings (new!): for this au rasa(dad) had a branch uzumaki parent who liked to travel before the 2SW started, who settled in suna and married the kazekage, rasa eventually developed his magnet release kekkei genkai and became kazekage, married karura(mom) and had gaara who got his red hair, his children are unaware of their uzumaki blood but rasa did suspect and gaara, who looks most like him and has his red hair, being his only child capable of holding shukaku, the ichibi, was a confirmation for him

- originally i was gonna say gaara actually doesn’t have any uzumaki in him and him having red hair is just a coincidence for the haha, but then i felt bad cause gaara deserves to have more weirdo family who’ll actually like him too so i decided against it

Heal Bite pt2

not two hours later, as the sun is landing on the horizon, naruto tells iruka that he’d magically healed an injured cat over ramen

he looks skeptical at first, with a raised brow and quirked lip as though naruto’s playing a prank on him until naruto huffs and asks if he’s got any injuries

iruka plays along and tells him he’s got a cut from a kunai gone off target during class that day, which he’d know about if he was there

“bite me! it’ll go away!” naruto doesn’t hesitate, doesn’t even wait for a response as iruka flails in bewilderment, just slots his arm in iruka’s mouth, presses his chin to bite down and pushes his chakra outward

“what- naruto!” iruka spits naruto’s arm away and his shoulders tighten, ready to scold naruto and impress upon him the significance of bacteria and not putting body parts into other people’s mouths as he grabs naruto’s arm to inspect because he definitely tasted blood-! but he doesn’t get the chance before he feels the effect on his body

in an instant all his fatigue from a day spent wrangling children, his lost chakra from teaching ninjutsu, and the light sting from a student’s missed throw are recovered and he feels revitalized in a way that’s entirely different from the iryo ninjutsu he’s come to know

his eyes widen and he sees naruto’s expectant and excited grin from the corner of his eye, doesn’t release naruto’s hand from his grip as he almost unwillingly unwraps the bandage on his left forearm to a healed arm, not a scab or scar to be seen

not that the wound would have scarred, it had been a small injury, surface level and minimal bleeding if not for the large surface area of the cut, he’d been fine to treat it without a nurse and it would have been healed in the span of a week

his mind races as he tracks what he knows, the instant healing, his lack of exhaustion, the chakra he felt rushing into his body and- his eyes catch on the new scar on naruto’s arm where he’d just bit, the taste of blood in his mouth and some part of him feels a little sick at the thought- what konoha would do to naruto with this knowledge
