i know everyone uses tree huggers to describe konoha ninja a lot in fanon because konoha is supposedly the happy hippies of the angsty ninja world but i propose pot heads or stoners as a better alternative

idk konoha is just an unrealistically happy place for a military dictatorship dedicated to the dehumanization and weaponization of anyone from ages 4 to dead in the name of patriotism induced by propaganda

and that’s without going into all the gruesome stuff about danzo and root or the defectors and kinslayers and spies and the very common alienation and isolation of many people that occurs within the village, many times

(sakumo and kakashi, dai and gai and lee to a lesser extent, kushina and naruto, prob orochimaru too tbh, and sasuke and the whole uchiha clan)

it’s also the village hidden in the leaves, with a bunch of plant metaphors used all over the place, a forest infested with nightmare creatures of questionable origins, a tree for a founder, a bunch of plant related ninja exercises and a clan head with mind powers being the owner of a flower shop

they all def smoke

if the yamanaka clan are in charge of mind reading, mind control, and the mental health of all konoha’s ninja then they’re probably also the ones prescribing weed as a stress relief tool for the village and the elite ninja (doubly so for the ANBU)

i headcanon the village doesn’t actually have a proper concept of mental healthcare and just tells you to drug yourself if you’re not mission operational and this is the reason for the disparity in mental health vs mental health checks that occur in fanon
