fixing the polyam flag, again.
dear polyam people!
you may have seen the voting of the polyamory flag, these were three of the four candidates:
and here you can see the winner:
especially the color choice of this flag is amazing, it is a major improvement to the visually painful original bright red, blue and black.
however, as you may or may not agree with me on, the winner is the best out of the four, but it could still be better.
my two main problems were:
it does not look like a pride flag
it does not make it obvious that it is about polyamory
so i "fixed" the flag :)
i tried addressing the problems by:
moving the white triangle further down, to make it look like the triangles in, for example, the demi-sexual, the demi-romantic or the progress pride flag. the explanation on the website for the asymmetrical triangle is to represent how non-monogamy is not traditional. this is factually wrong, monogamy is only traditional in christian-western cultures. non-monogamy (though mostly in the form of polygamy) is common and traditional in most other cultures.
switching the golden heart with the well-known infinity heart. it has been a common symbol used by polyamorous people. it has upset me that none of the original artists have used the symbol in their designs.
flipping the colors upside down. it just seems asthetically more pleasing in my opinion. it also looks good the other way around, though.
i hope you like the redesign i made, and i hope it will be in use!
please give me feedback on the design, i am interested in what other people think of it. i've only asked my polycule about it.
thank you for reading!

you know how the couple that sang "home" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros isn't together anymore??
i love that.
it makes me so happy.
it just shows that you can love with your whole heart for a long while without being worried that they'll leave, the moments with them have been the most amazing in your life and even if it doesn't work out, you have the memories. you have all the love songs you wrote them. you have poured your heart out and it was so fucking worth it
my girlfriend of 3 ½ years broke up with me and. yeah. this song hits a little harder now.
i love when things age. i love the color of oxidized copper. i love chipped mugs and stained cups. i love outgrown and faintly dyed hair. i love worn clothes that have holes and rips and repair attempts. i love stuffed animals that have been cuddled too much. i love when walls have yellowish stains from being touched too much. i love hand-me-downs with visible imperfections. i love that at seventeen i had my first wrinkles under my eyes from smiling too hard and then at eighteen my second wrinkles between my eyes on my nose from frowning. i love fading scars and yellowed teeth and senses that get worse with time.
i want to create a home. i want to move in with loves. i want to paint the walls in light yellows and beiges and oranges. i want to put a ridiculous amount of things on my walls. i want a silly welcome mat and a bell that tells me when someone enters. i want a green kitchen with a vase with flowers i dried, and a living room with the most comfortable couch, and a bathroom full of plants. i want it to smell like blankets, fresh laundry, chamomile and peppermint. i want to make freshly brewed tea on every cold, and crisp lemonade on every warm day. i want people to enter and immediately feel welcome. i want to create a home full of comfort.

“The axe forgets, but the tree remembers.”
This is a huge thing ESPECIALLY with kids. To the parent, they lashed out when they were mad and forgot about it, expecting the kid to forget too. To the kid? It was a big moment that defined your relationship with your parents. Stuff my parents don’t remember doing or saying were things that to me spoke very, very loudly, that I was not safe to be open and honest with my parents.
The axe forgets, but the tree remembers, indeed.
