i have had such a blast poring over so many fashion plates and drawing the gang in fancy historical fashion ca. 1872. it was such a joy and a pleasure from start to finish to work with the incomparable @dear-monday on this project - i really couldn't have asked for a better partner from start to finish. she saw the vision 100% and has written the most fantastic fic that i am beyond excited for everyone to finally get to read!!!

From so close, he can smell her, hair powder and makeup and a bit of musk from where the stage lights must make her sweat in her sequin frock.

Her fingers are warm on his face, her grip strong. Something zings in the air between them - chemistry, he thinks, thrilled. He knows he’s grinning, but so is she, unable to hide her delight. “We’ll see if you can be of service,” she announces dryly, to roaring laughter, painted lips curled into a smile, her voice dripping with innuendo.
