There is exactly one animal rescue organization in Gaza, and they desperately need help, too. Sulala Animal Rescue is a registered charity which was founded by Mr. Saeed Al Err, a trained veterinarian who has dedicated his life to helping animals. The rescue feeds strays (cats, dogs & donkeys) and gives food to people with pets; offers veterinary services; and helps with community education, all in the Gaza strip - and kept up while the genocide is going on.

I know there will be people who will question the importance of feeding animals when there are people starving in Gaza, too. I am not arguing against that, and if you only have the ability to support one cause, please continue supporting the people there. I just ask that if you have the ability, please consider including help for animals and this organization alongside your help for humans.

Mr. Saeed, his family and the other volunteers are doing everything they can in the middle of a warzone to keep these animals alive and cared for. They help the animals who have had to be left behind, and they help those whose humans have held onto them through all of this suffering. I know how important my pets are to me, and I don't think the people in Gaza should have to suffer the added grief of losing their pets on top of everything else.

So many adaptations do not show us WHY Watson likes crime solving with Holmes. They kind of assume that everybody would like to go on an exciting field trip with a genius, or that Watson is in need of income and this is a good way to get it. In the original book though, Watson actively enjoyed detective work before he got close to Holmes.

Watson has read a shit ton of detective books and actually gets pissed off when Holmes insults his favourite characters. If he was talking to a regular person instead of a consulting detective he'd probably be the one infodumping.

Prior to study in scarlet, Watson actually tries to do his own little deduction project because he wanted to figure out what Holmes does and why he can have encyclopaedic knowledge in certain areas but lack common adult knowledge in others. He even compiled a little list of information about what Holmes is knowledgeable and not knowledgeable at and got frustrated when he couldn't figure it out.

In this process he observed every aspect of Holmes, to the extent that he admitted he'd probably be considered a "hopeless busybody".

Yes, he does caveat it by saying that he's only doing it because he's very, very bored, but notice how he is only politely interested when he's shown chemical experiments or the various other subject that Holmes sees fit to infodump about, but absolutely intrigued in his project of figuring out what Holmes does and completely impressed by every tiny piece of deduction Holmes makes.

When Watson published “The Second Stain” in late 1904, his devoted readers were shocked to learn that Holmes – and presumably himself – did not reside in Baker Street anymore. The famous address had served them well, but now the detective had decided to retire to the Sussex countryside, seemingly alone. The previous year, Holmes had also relaxed his decade-long publishing ban, leading to the revelation of his return. The next two volumes of adventures provide a rich, if fragmentary, view of their post-221B life. One merely hopes that the two saw more of each other than the “occasional week-end visits” Holmes tells us about later on.
