@ncfvox
AIDS is not over.. Neither are we - ACT the fuck UP!
We were approached by @sckooncup and asked to review their menstrual cup! Normally I don’t do product reviews, but I scanned the website and liked their much less gendered approach (no white ladies dancing with scarves in fields of flowers) so I figured we’d give it a try. I don’t have a period (Mirena 4eva!) so Molly graciously offered to try it out and it sounds like she liked it!
If you’re interested in trying it out, head over to the website HERE. Enjoy!
Elizabeth Cady Stanton, 1815-1902 (Social activist, abolitionist, author)
“What will we and our daughters suffer if these degraded black men are allowed to have the rights that would make them even worse than our Saxon fathers?”
Anna Howard Shaw, 1847-1919 (Physician, Methodist minister, president of the National Woman Suffrage Association)
“You have put the ballot in the hands of your black men, thus making them political superiors of white women. Never before in the history of the world have men made former slaves the political masters of their former mistresses!”
Frances Willard, 1839-1898 (Feminist lecturer, founder of the National Council of Women, anti-child abuse activist)
“Alien illiterates rule our cities today; the saloon is their palace, and the toddy stick their scepter. The colored race multiplies like the locusts of Egypt.”
Carrie Chapman Catt, 1859-1947 (Founder of the League of Women Voters)
“White supremacy will be strengthened, not weakened, by women’s suffrage.”
Rebecca Ann Latimer Felton, 1835-1930 (First woman to serve in the Senate)
“I do not want to see a negro man walk to the polls and vote on who should handle my tax money, while I myself cannot vote at all…When there is not enough religion in the pulpit to organize a crusade against sin; nor justice in the court house to promptly punish crime; nor manhood enough in the nation to put a sheltering arm about innocence and virtue—-if it needs lynching to protect woman’s dearest possession from the ravening human beasts—-then I say lynch, a thousand times a week if necessary.”

And here’s why people dont trust white feminism. Look at your roots!
These are the people they want black women to thank for our right to vote like we earned our right along with them. Hell we weren’t even part of the conversation.
New polling shows that the majority of Americans (nearly 70%), across party lines and geographic location, support legal abortion and do not want the government to restrict access to abortion. The majority of politicians who represent us however? Not so much. Let’s make it clear whose voices should really matter. H/t prochoiceamerica
There’s a disconnect here. This November, let’s fix it.
How do you feel about abortion and parental permission?
The majority of public schools in Idaho have not adopted new policies on gender identity and gender expression protections.
Puerto Rico's Education Minister has announced changes to a school uniform code that lets boys wear skirts.
Women’s health services are arguably Planned Parenthood’s most vital and necessary component. But more than 4.6 million people use their sexual and reproductive health and education services each year, and from 2002 and 2012, the number of men using them grew by a staggering 83%. Yes, Planned Parenthood helps men. Even when they are not the immediate beneficiaries of Planned Parenthood, men often are by direct association.
Disclaimer:I don't nor should anyone feel pressured to alter their body. I've heard of sitting in shallow baths of alumn, or Epson salt&vinegar for vaginal tightening. What are the dangers of these diy tightening methods?
“Vaginal tightening” creams, baths, and ointments are, in my opinion, total garbage.
There is no such thing as a “loose” vagina.
Vaginas aren’t one-time-use-only. The vaginal canal is a muscle that can stretch and re-tighten as necessary. The inner rugae are little soft ridges/folds of tissue that can stretch out to be totally smooth as needed.
Now, I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again - it’s like the vagina is one of those As-Seen-On-TV hoses that lengthen as needed and scrunch back up when you’re done with them.
If you feel like your vagina is too “loose” it’s not because it’s permanently stretched out, it’s because your muscles need strengthening.
Ways to strengthen your muscles:
Kegel exercises - squeeze your vagina like you’re trying to smoosh a banana, hold the muscles for 5 seconds, then release.
Squats - in combination with kegels, do squats in which your back is straight and your shins are at a right angle from the floor. Hold onto a doorknob for support and go down to the lowest comfortable position, hold it for 5-10 seconds, then come back up. Try to do 10-20 a day. (see below)
Pelvic lifts - lay on your back with your knees up and your feet apart. Engage the muscles in your pelvis by taking a deep breath and lifting your hips up until your back makes a perfect straight line. Hold your muscles tight during this and count to 10 before lowering your pelvis and relaxing the muscles. Do 10-20 a day. (see below)
If you feel like you’re having difficulty doing Kegels, you can also use some pelvic floor strengthening tools:
Smartballs (or any Ben Wa-type ball) can be held inside the vaginal canal to strengthen over a course of course each day.
KegelSmart is a tool that vibrates to tell you when to kegel.
Evi is a toy that is used inside the vaginal canal during stimulation to tone pelvic muscles and enhance orgasm.
Vagacare weights are essentially like barbells for your vagina - squeeze the muscles like a kegel to lift, then relax.
But really, don’t mess with alum or other chemicals in or around your vulva/vagina to try to tighten it. Do the exercises and you’ll be as tight (AND strong) as you like!
Over the near five years we were together, I bolstered my pubescent queerness with beliefs that deconstructed traditional expectations of femininity and idealized sexuality, and uplifted personal pleasure and empowerment (basically a big fuck you to all the reasons I first started faking orgasms). Even then, I still faked it! I justified my disingenuous orgasms with the assurance that I liked it. Faking made me feel sensual and in control, so it was okay! While I still hold this to be true, the problem was that I wasn’t communicating with my partner about my own pleasure. I was such an avid faker that when I wanted them to continue until I came or until we switched to something else, they thought something was wrong with them. It wasn’t the faking that wasn’t cool, it was the lying about it.

It’s not stopping them from forming a new committee to “investigate” Planned Parenthood, though.

Courtney Demone wants to know at what point Facebook and Instagram will deem her breasts worthy of censorship, so she’s documenting their growth to find out.
Demone, 24, is posting topless photos to social media as she undergoes hormone replacement therapy (HRT), which will make her breasts grow larger. The designer and trans woman from Victoria, British Columbia, is wondering when those photos will be flagged for breaking the rules.
Facebook and Instagram both have policies banning images of female nipples, with exceptions made for breastfeeding or post-mastectomy images.
“At some point my breasts are going to be big enough that these social media networks will have deemed them worthy of censorship,” she told BuzzFeed Canada.
