Reblogging witchy, pagan, and nature related posts. Omnitheist pagan witch, practicing since 2012. May perhaps add my own posts which will be under #ncqwitchpost
This is my secondary blog where I’m mostly reblogging nature stuff and witchy/pagan related information.
My main blog is @nocturnalcraftyqueer and I’m a ‘97 baby, I’m queer, polyamorous, been learning and practicing since 2012 I wanna say.
I’m omnitheistic and not really a worship type. More of a respect them as older, wiser, more powerful beings especially within their domains.
Primarily a home and hearth witch, that is to say I put energy in every homemaking task I do and it helps build into the house feeling like home and comfortable for everyone who visits so far. I’m also especially strong energetically to herbs. My herbal teas for healing have stronger potency when I make it, than when many of the people around me makes the tea the same way.
Many people think witchcraft starts with spells, but historically it started with observation.
Knowing when turtles nested, when certain flowers bloomed, or how streams changed after rain helped people understand the rhythms of the land.
That knowledge became folklore, seasonal celebrations, and eventually magical practices.
And it’s still very helpful to learn these things.
Go outside today and observe something about where you live. Write it down, then go observe that same thing tomorrow or next week, and write down any changes.
This is how you can begin to flow with the rhythms of where you are.

the herbs in your kitchen can work PERFECTLY as incense. grab a charcoal disk, put it in a fire proof bowl, burn the charcoal (heat it up) and places the herbs you’re burning. you don’t need expensive incense and you certainly do not need incense sticks (and if you use incense sticks, that’s okay)
stop telling witches they can’t use anything they have around them
On August 1st, we witches of the Northern hemisphere will celebrate Lammas, also called Lughnasadh. It is now high summer and the union of sun and earth has produced the first harvest. It is a time of gathering in and giving thanks for abundance. Feasting, market fairs, games and bonfires are the order of the day. Active growth is slowing and darker days are coming...
-- -- --
Rituals to celebrate:
🥳 With people, this is usually the time to gather around a bonfire, to celebrate the blessings of the harvest. Surround yourself with loved ones and make sure to light something - a bonfire or a candle, it doesn't really matter - to celebrate the sun one last time.
🍽️ In the kitchen, learn to play with yeast and bake your own bread. Grains of any kinds are highly thought after in this festival!
🎨 Get crafty, by making corn dolls out of cob husks.
💃 Dress up, with shades of deep yellow, orange and reds to descent of summer into (soon enough) the fall season.
📜 Write in your journal, about what you are harvesting in your life at the moment. What should you hold onto for the winter months?
🔮 Meditate, about how hard you've worked so far this year, and what accomplishments you can be proud of for this first half of the year.
tiny money jars worked immediately that it scared me :')
ingredients
bay leaf (abundance)
white rice grains (prosperity)
salt (cleansing, protection)
thyme (purification, protection)
moonstone (manifestation)
white quartz (amplifier, cleansing, protection)
i sealed the top off with a green paper and used green ink to write my sigil (amplification), then tied it off. all the ingredients used are just things lying around the house. one of them is placed on my table where i work, and the other is something i can bring around.
i used a lot of protection symbols because i realized that there are so many ways to earn money if you trade off your peace, energy, and integrity. i could be hired into a good-paying job that takes advantage of me, come across opportunities to steal from others, or get a high-paying client that disrespects me – those are things i didn't want to happen.
cleansing motifs are to clear up the factors that prevent the spell from working as you'd like.
supporting spells. put a bayleaf with a fehu rune written on it in places where you typically put your money in (e.g., wallet, coin purse, coin bank).
testimony. roughly 3 hours later, i slept and woke in the middle of the night to a text from someone who ordered from my small business, who paid immediately :') a few days later, my aunt deposited me some money for allowance about the same amount (thank you, auntie). customers in my business increased but also not as stressful for me. more monetary opportunities came my way, though i did not say "yes" to most of them.
feel free to follow this spell or add your own twist to it ♡
I was working on this post back about a month ago and then some shit happened and I had to put it on the back burner for a bit. In lieu of running out of projects to work on, I picked this back up and finally finished it. Hopefully it's accurate, sometimes I feel like I go to one source and it says one thing, and another will say something entirely different.
One thing I've learned from exploring astrology is that things can be very subjective, and some people care about some aspects more than others. I've decided to lay things out as much as possible, but if it disputes what you've read some place else, please feel free to let me know! I'm always interested in hearing others perspectives.
Note that this post is about modern Western astrology, not historic, cultural astrology practices.

Struggling with existing in reality. Ignoring intuition or signs. Conditional, strings attached relationships, and surface level bonds. Having a hard time empathizing with or understanding others perspectives.
PLUTO: Happens once a year for about five months. Staying in imbalanced relationships or roles, not wanting to express boundaries as they’re violated. HOUSE CONSTRUCTION METHODS:
PORPHYRY: The Medium Coeli and Ascendant are calculated first, with the Imum Coeli and Descendant being 180 degrees across from them. The remaining houses are divided equally between these two lines. This means each house may be different sizes.
WHOLE SIGNS: The first house is always your Ascendant sign, and each sign that follows your ascendant will be your second, third, etc. Every house is the same size (30 degrees).
PLACIDUS: A much more complex system, the Placidus houses are decided by measurements calculated with your location and time of birth. Your Ascendant will always be the cusp of your first house, and, moving clockwise, the next cusp will be marked after two hours. This continues until the seventh house, where the remaining six houses will be extended as needed to make up the remaining space. The further from the equator you live, the more uneven your houses. Sign interceptions and doubles are only possible with this system.
As a beginner, I have been recommended to use the Whole Signs method, since it’s a lot easier to interpret. Placidus is wholly the most popular method nowadays, though.
SIGN INTERCEPTIONS: Only occurs in the Placidus system. When a sign has no house cusps present in it. Always occurs in opposing pairs. Aspects of yourself that are blocked or underdeveloped.
SIGN DUPLICATES: Only occurs in the Placidus system. When a sign has two or more house cusps present in it. Always occurs in opposing pairs. Aspects of yourself that are enhanced or reinforced.
If you have an interception you will always have a duplicate, and vice versa.
SOURCES:
“The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need,” by Joanna Martine Woolfolk– honestly I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s very surface level, gendered, and ignores some very important aspects of astrology and I was still left feeling pretty confused after reading it.
Free Astrology Course by Shaina Astrology– the one issue with these videos is that they seem a bit biased or subjective-passed-off-as-objective, but they were helpful to get the basics down!
Here's me being vulnerable: I went through a burnout this year. It was hard, harder than I would have liked it to be. But now, a few months later, I can say I grew and learned a lot from it. While sharing my experience with friends and family, I realised that I definitely wasn't alone in feeling this way about work.
If you can relate, here's a little spell that I hope can help you.

⁀➷ Wrote about my burnout and a book that helped me through it on my Substack today. Give it a read!
"What is the biggest impediment to your writing life?"
"Capitalism, which continues to devour the living world that we need as our home and to consume the hours of everyone's lives for the profit of the very few, setting people against each other for the mere preservation of life and pressurizing gendered and racialized forms of oppression. There's no writing without time, without air to breathe and potable water, without a body and earth that supports life, without each other."
🌪️ A simple summer ritual: place a small heap of ground cinnamon in the center of your palms. Outside, ideally on a windy day, visualize everything that no longer serves you. Blow the cinnamon in the wind and let it be sent away from you.
💧️ A simple summer ritual: while lying in a body of water (sea, lake, or your bath tube), close your eyes and visualize your body being cleansed of negative energies. When you step out, leave it all behind in the water.
🔥 A simple summer ritual: write a single word on a bay leaf that represents something you'd like to get rid of, whether that's a bad habit, an addiction, a common pattern in your life. Then, burn it down in a campfire or with a lighter.
