About me

University student with a degree in a sphere stereotypically portrayed as for serious, nerdy workaholics, but with the brain filled with daydreams about tens of fantasy stories I've read/watched. I have a lot of ideas, a lot of hobbies, a lot of fandoms to think and to talk about and a huuge procrastination, so I'm that type of person that can do a lot of something, but who's hardly really good at anything.

My main hobbies are drawing and reading/watching fantasy stories (my favourite ones are Lord of the Mysteries, Dragon Raja, Attack on titan and Star Wars). I'm currently self-studying Japanese and plan to start Chinese in a year or two. Also I've been playing MLBB for 7 years and I'm its e-sports fan.

Drawings

This is the main purpose of this blog. Right now I'm obsessed with Chime Gen/Ruri Kazama of Dragon Raja, so it's mostly fanarts of him and other Dragon raja characters, but in general I'll draw anyone I like, including ocs.

*I spent whole highschool copying (at least trying) screenshots from movies, photoes and realistic pics that portrayed people's faces. I didn't want to actually learn to draw and post something then, first 2 years of the uni I didn't draw at all, but a year ago I caught my longest-lasting inspiration, lasting until today, that made me want to draw my own art. I procrastinate through literally everything in my life so the learning process is going very slow, but my goal is to be able to freely draw dynamic full-length fanarts and oc arts. By now I learned how to properly use references and Lumis method and currently try to understand values. I draw with pencils and sometimes with acrylic markers, would love to turn to digital, but the fact that I'll have to learn how to color and render from scratch freaks me out.

Watched today's LotM special episode

I absolutely love the design of Colin Iliad and Lovia (her knight is so gigantic I barely imagined it when I read the novel). The soundtrack keeps beeing incredible, it's the main reason why the episode, once again, feels the story with emotions that were sometimes lost in the writing. You do really connect emotionally with Derrick. Also I think they did better jon in making viewers believe that Lovia may be a villain (idk if it's just me but in the novel I realised she's not very quickly).

Ofc I got a little itch when I saw Derrick and his family in the field without any light source, but I kinda get it that God's Forsaken Land was made ligher for the convenience of the donghua.

Also I heard that crunchyroll's eng subs are total junk once again. L crunchyroll, feel sorry for the viewers.

But about the episode, I don't see anything to critisise it for. The only sad thing is that 3 eps in full will probably be a bit longer than 1 hour, and I hoped for more😭

Seems like June 22nd will be amazing day

1) We're getting LotM season 2 teaser (this is confirmed as far as I know)

2) We probably will receive some Dragon Raja season 3 updates (both are among the titles that will be featured at Tencent conference)

I think for Dragon Raja it's too early for any teasers, but may be a new poster, or more specific release date... anything🫠

Probably there'll be some pause of Chime arts 🙃. I need to draw a poster for an e-sports tournament I'm attending in 9 days, and the view of empty A2 sheet I bought for this purpose scares me as f. Also I'd love to draw smth from LotM to celebrate upcoming ova, but, unlike dragon raja, the fandom is bigger and there are way more beautiful arts in various styles and I just can't come up with ideas unique enough and within my current skill level🫠

Lord of Mysteries PV - new mobile card game by Archosaur Games

So now there will be 2 games from Archosaur about my favourite fandoms. Fair enough, trailer looks better than for Rerise, though I get same vibes a lot. But I still hardly believe that Archosaur is capable of producing a game that you'll want to spend money on because of how good it is and not because you are just gambling- or competition- addicted.

Btw the reason I've been drawing non-stop when students typically have exams is that in 2 weeks I'm officially graduating

(but I'm appying for master's, so I still can't have all summer to relax and draw Chime in peace because of the entrance exam in august😭)

It has been so long since I drew Chime, and I liked the rerise design a lot thumbs up because hes happy to be here again Simple clothes because im still struggling with his design, unlike the other one where I had 3D references... If anyone has a HD reference i would be very grateful Also im still trying to understand his hair

I woke up this morning and decided that this would be THE day. The day I face the thing I felt so uncomfortable about that I even scrolled past the shorts about it. The perspective day.

And basic figures aren't really that scary at all. After a couple of shorts I realised why my 3/4 portraits so often looked weird. The hardest thing that comes to my mind yet is situations when the vanishing points are so far away that you can't point them on the sheet.

And that's both one of the weirdest and the funniest things I've drawn recently - my first tries of heads in 3-point perspective:

There definetely are mistakes, esp the first one, but it was so fun to draw and I have no idea why I avoided perspective for so long. Neck, arms and torso anatomy next!

I felt a little tired from red and amethyst, so I experimented a little. He is meant to look stunning in any colors, right?

*Learnt hell lot about Japanese smoking pipes (kiseru) and the symbolysm of kimono patterns, but still have no clue how to make my drawings seem darker while keeping colors saturated.

Would not be surprised if it's my first ever finished drawing without a face and one of the very few that's not fanart (hands referenced by mine, rest from imagination). But it is still dragon raja inspired (easy to guess which way exactly🙃)

I feel like it needs some background, but idk which exactly. Comment if you have any ideas

P. P. S. New skill unlocked: speed-correcting. Description: a must-have when your need a line so thin it's barely visible, so you have up to 5 seconds to correct your acrylic marker's line with your nail before it goes dry.

New definition of internal peace

(SPOILERS) I listened to that Japanese Dragon Raja ending again in full and have smth more to say, and it's even more important than before

It's "Giver" by ASCA. This time I checked the music video with full eng subs of the lyrics. They are quite interesting and meaningful in context of the lore. To me it seems that the song is about Lu Mingze, as "Don't cry, I'll take your place" fits him perfectly. And if it's true, then it pefrectly follows the final plot twist introduced in Rerise (in case someone forgot/missed it, in Chinese Rerise there was an event that gave the answer of questionable relation to canon, to the questions "who Mingfei and Mingze really are", "who the main villain is", "what the whole dragon raja story is really about"). Someone translated that event on Dragon raja subreddit. So about Mingfei-Mingze situation, in short, Mingze doesn't take Mingfei's life, but vise versa, makes him stronger every time to help him regain his power and become original himself, the Black King. And in the song, the lyrics are literally "I give you all I am, till I fade away (I don't need anything)", and almost every sentence confirms this theory. If it will turn out to be true, then may be the donghua seasons won't be wasted, there is hope!

P. S. @mingzespinalfluid I feel like you should listen to this song, I'm curious what you'll think about it. To me it really ads up to Mingze's character, and this song alone is better than season 2 in whole.
