toby's got a favorite color combo i think
you know what that means
Guy who is roommates with among us: Hey man thanks for doing all your tasks
Among us: No problem
Oh, him? Yeah thats just Berdly. Yeah the only lightener to be fully active an entire chapter and never be under the player’s leadership. The only character who can be essentially killed when diverging from the main story. And one of the only major characters to be entirely omitted from the prophecy. Yeah, when you play the video game backstage in chapter 3, a blue bird that you can’t kill blocks you from continuing until you freeze it. And he had a ‘leader’ egg on his desk that every egg you collect follows. Uh huh, he could also heavily connect to whole escapism aspect of deltarune and what thats trying to say. And if you want to explore themes of neglect, well, he has the potential for that too. Yeah, he also has extensive video game knowledge in a video game meta narrative. He draws parallels between himself and the main character Kris, while also being the only character to be fully connected to who Kris is in the moment (aka no past baggage and minimal player/prophecy influence)* and, though they butt heads, does seem to genuinely respect them. He’s the other blue knight. Kris is the other blue bird. After you freeze him in Snowgrave, flavor text keeps popping up that references him in general and specifically his knowledge for video games. In a meta narrative. Setting aside relationships ((a big ask)), he’s the only thing that really meaningfully changes in the Snowgrave route. At the end of chapter 2, his icon is a question mark while everyone else’s is their face, something played for a gag but hey. You never know. Yeah, don’t worry, he’s not important.

"That's it! No love poem for you this February! I mean it!"
The more violence your mutual wants to inflict on the character the more they love them
Parallels
i like to think heracles was one of those sad mistreated goldfish sold by the bag sitting depressingly in pet store windows in droves
I love that a majority of the polyinterns dynamics, whether in aus or otherwise, is- here's Purple and Red, with a history of deep friendship turned to betrayal, and now there's pain and tension and guilt and they can't stop bringing each other up or get rid of their feelings no matter how much they want to-
-and then you just throw in this bumpkin Green, who's a farmer and also a dangerous threat, who's kind, but also just as much as a freak and obsessive as the other two. They get thrown into this tense relationship that's ready to explode, and it either makes everything better or worse, or just more intense.
IT'S WHAT MAKES POLYINTERNS SO FLAVORFUL.
Like, I super get that Purple can be obsessive and impulsive, too, but I'd like to think it's very much within reason and, given the context, understandable??
But my favorite interpretation of polyinterns, is that it cannot function without Purple.
Purple is at the unfortunate center of this entire thing. The reason why Red takes to Green so quickly is bcos Green validates their ego and affirms Red's skewed perception of themself. Green, at least at the beginning and originally, is innocent and trusting. They don't KNOW Red yet, so Red can keep pretending that the way Green sees them is exactly what they are. So they can play this fantasy about being a good, competent person who did everything right. They can pretend Purple was wrong about them, with this person who represents who Purple was to Red, at a time when Purple still believed in the best of Red.
And, while the original Green may have been drawn to Red's authority and status, we all know Impostor Green was more focused on Purple. The whooooooole time that Purple was fixated on Red, Green was watching PURPLE. PURPLE was the interesting one. PURPLE was the dangerous one. PURPLE was the THREAT, and if Red didn't make Purple so conveniently stupid over things they would have otherwise figured out, Green knew Purple was the one to kill next.
The polycule hinges on Red and Green's mutual interest in Purple,
Look I do. Genuinely. tend to keep most of my hater opinions pretty close to the vest. Because like okay, you liked the thing I think kinda sucked, I don't need to go ringing your doorbell about it. We can agree on that.
But I feel the sleeper-phrase activation in myself whenever I see a take like "um if you didn't like it it's actually because you didn't understand it!!!!" and i have to like. Take a walk around the block before I morph into Ron Swanson.
I love the thought of imposter Green learning about Purple and Red's history and absolutely getting the vibes that they're not over each other, and using that against them
Green will just be like, 'Golly Captain! I feel so safe with Purple as Security here! They're so brave and caring and so determined! That's the kind of captain I want to be some day, and I really look up to them. It's no wonder you're so close to them!' And Red will just be gripping the nearest surface with a twitching eye, because they admire Purple as well but they can't say that in their current situation but Green can casually look up to Purple that way and it drives them mad.
Or like 'Gee, Purple, this whole situation is so stressful and scary, but I trust that the captain will get us out of this mess safely. They're so confident and thoughtful and always willing to help me learn the ropes around here! I know you have your doubts, but I think the captain truly cares for the crew, and you guys work so well together!' And Purple has to hold their tongue because Red does care, but they also care so much about how others view them that it ruins whatever sincerity they have, no matter how much Purple knows is there deep inside.
Green's just smirking and watching them side eye and accuse each other, too obsessed with the other to notice the imposter right in front of them
But then Green starts to like them more than they're supposed to, Purple's smarts and Red's heart, and then Green starts wanting to be a part of whatever they've got going on
YES, YOU GET IT, ANON.
IT MAKES ME FEEL NUTS. GREEN GOADING BOTH OF THEM ON. And making Red and Purple feel like they're competing but also making them suppress all those volatile feelings and memories bcos YUP, UH HUH, YOU ARE TOTALLY RIGHT, NOTHING TO ADD OR SAY OR CONFESS ABOUT THAT, I'M JUST GONNA GO. SIT IN A CORNER. HAHAHAHHA.
Constantly poking at the open, festering, infected tooth that is their past.
They should have had a threesome during the hypoxia scene. Green didn't even intend for it, but Purple and Red having the giggliest argument, practically whispering at each other while Purple's in Red's lap? And Purple spotting Green then making this DEVIOUS face while they mumble something at Red. Green feels like PREY.
