Summary below if you haven't read it.

After a night with way too much Soju, Zoey and Mira gave Rumi mating bites. The only problem, they aren't all dating, Zoey and Mira are but Rumi isn't. Rumi is confused, distraught, and hides what they did, thinking it will ruin them. The two don't seemingly remember, thus when a tear opens Rumi is distracted during the fight. Rumi is injured leading to the reveal of not only her patterns but her other demonic traits.

Rumi escapes badly wounded.

Before she does something rash, Rumi finds another Half-Demon. A teenager by the name of Maeve, who the Honmoon has already chosen to be a part of the next generation. How could the Honmoon think this was a good idea?

Omega Rumi gets to learn how to be a mom to an orphan half-demon named Maeve while on the run. All before her pups arrive.

Ah-ri! Our aggressive but secret softie. One of the Grandmas for our rag tag group of Half-Demons. Fun fact, her demon animal is a wolverine. Lianthrelle and I went back and forth on Maeve's animal for a long time and wolverine was one that list. Lianthrelle really wanted it for Maeve. So it gets honored with Ah-ri!

Can't forget Ah-ri's wife and mate. The nurse/receptionist for Gramp's clinic. YUNA! As Yuna explained herself to Rumi, her demon animal is a Ungnyeo. A bear with a couple extra pluses.

SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 6!

Maeve needed to decompress after waking up at home in Rumi’s nest. A fact that Rumi herself was very glad about because she felt like she pushed herself a little too far with the Honmoon. There was a buzz in her patterns from the aftereffects of resurrecting? Reviving? Derpy and Sussie. It wasn’t painful, but it wasn’t pleasant either. 

Derpy and Sussie.

Why did Maeve choose those names? Rumi just mentally blamed a certain rapper since Maeve had been a fan and would have been exposed to the chaotic wonder. 

Derpy seemed content to be Maeve and Rumi’s backrest, the now spirit tiger purring up a storm too. While the six-eyed Sussie fluttered in and out of the nest room, gathering pieces of fabric. The bird seemed determined to make its own nest in her nest.   

Maeve was scrolling through videos, Rumi nearby, ready in case the teenager stumbled into something dangerous. Luckily, she seemed content to brain-rot with short-form videos. 

“[Oh my God! You look like the Fourth of July. Makes me want a hot dog real bad!]”

Maeve's head dropped to the side, eyebrows bunched in confusion. “Uhhh.”

“Oh, that’s Jennifer Coolidge. She’s an actress in the Americas,” Rumi explained as she carded her fingers through Maeve’s fiery hair. Each brush earned her a high-pitched purr.

“What’d she say?”

“Promise you won’t record this.”

“Whhhhhyyyyyy?” Maeve leaned away from Rumi with a very big-eyed expression.

“Promise,” Rumi growled, pinching Maeve’s cheek. She’ll bring up Maeve’s slip on using Eomma instead of Unnie. Or maybe she wouldn’t. Though the idea of stepping into the role early sounded nice, especially if it was for Maeve. “Or I won’t do it.”

“I promise.”

Rumi mentally re-listened to the audio, humming as she did, the pitch of her voice going lower. Once she was confident that she had the actress’s voice pitch, she translated the words, adding the same inflections. 

“Oh my God! You look like the Fourth of July. Makes me want a hot dog real bad!”

Maeve made a strangled sound in her throat before a chortle escaped. Not a laugh, not a snicker, a breathy sound that was not dissimilar to the sound someone might make after swallowing a noisemaker. Derpy even raised his eyebrows, those glowing orange orbs magically focusing just on Maeve, tongue at the ready if she needed the most ineffective CPR.

“Oh bugger, I should not have done this,” Rumi said, still in a perfect Jennifer Coolidge impression. Maeve’s face turned a peachy red, her patterns pulsing like dozens of mini disco balls, pajama pants not hiding a single flicker. Rumi smiled at seeing the dazzling pinks, yellows, and whites dominating every swirly pattern.

Would it be cruel to continue?

Nah.

“What’s so funny? Cute little tomato! Don’t I sound like a Norwegian princess?” Rumi added a dramatic hair flip; her now short hair falling more in her face, but it had the desired effect of making Maeve unable to make a sound. “Ohhh I should order salmon, need those omega-threes.”

“Rumi, mercy, please.” Maeve wheezed, crawling for the edge of the nest, but Derpy’s first betrayal occurred. He used a paw to pull her back, and Maeve let out a yelp. “Derpy, noooo!”

So here's more! This takes place before chapter 3!

Rumi sits cross-legged, trying to plot out their next move on the hotel bed. An entire roll of kimbap balanced on her knee as she chewed on a pen. Hunger won against her need to get things planned, and Rumi tilted her head back and consumed the roll in one long swallow.

Maeve froze, eyes locked on her.

Rumi blushed, swallowing the last bit.

Maeve opened her mouth, closed it, drummed her fingers, and finally asked. “Can I do that?”

“I don’t know.” Rumi tapped her chin. “I assumed it was a demon thing; my Eomma was never known to do this.”

Maeve grabbed a kimbap roll, tilted her head back just like Rumi’s, and tried to shove the whole thing in. It made it two inches before she choked and gagged. Rumi panicked and whacked her on the back so hard that the roll went flying.

“Nope, not a demon thing, you are just weird!”

“I’m not weird!”

Maeve glared critically at Rumi as she retrieved her kimbap; waste not, want not. Rumi just turned away, choosing ignorance to the idea that she was weird.
