Noé and words of affirmation

I think Noé shows his affection in a lot of different ways. I’ve said this before but he could be the poster boy for emotional intelligence lmao he’s very aware of the needs of the people around him and adjusts accordingly. He’s also a lot more observant than I think a lot of people give him credit for. 

We’ve seen him seek physical reassurance from Domi before and he also doesn’t shy away from physical touch whenever the people around him initiate it (domi, vani, roland, etc etc) he has shown a willingness to help others in whatever way he can as well but what sticks out the most about his character to me is his honesty and his straightforwardness. 

Noé doesn’t say i love you but he says (to domi) “you worry about me and that makes me really happy” he says (to louis) “please let me know if there’s anything i can do to help” he says (to vanitas) “i’ve decided i’m staying with you”, “i came here to save vampires what about you” “i believe you” and “i’m glad you are the person that you are” he doesn’t say i care but he doesn’t need to. He tells people what they need to hear and he does so by being truthful about his own feelings as well which only gives his words more impact. 

“I’m glad you’re the person you are now” is one of my favorite lines of his because it comes up right after he witnessed Vanitas having a meltdown over feeling unworthy of love but even then, he is so so careful about not invalidating his feelings. He doesn’t tell him that he cares or that he appreciates him or that he shouldn’t feel that way (because god knows Vanitas wouldn’t hear any of it) and instead expresses his support in a roundabout way that gets his own feelings across but that Vanitas can’t simply brush off.
