The air and water feel the so clean up there. #thunderbay #travelontario #photography #photooftheday #photographer #water #waterfront #pier #nature #landscape #landscapephotography #clearskies https://www.instagram.com/p/BpVILlHnt9M/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1v0dzdbrfrgw1
After landing we stopped to eat at Bight Restaurant. Watching the water and cargo ships glide along the bay was the perfect setting to our dinner, which was the tastiest and best presented I've had on this trip so far. Thunder Bay is so peaceful😍 I'm glad we stopped to see its natural beauty before going on our road trip. https://www.instagram.com/p/BpR7-SwHJrl/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=t50eqto8eki0
When 5 different beauty/fertility/sexuality Goddesses show up in one dream and hand you a magic potion and tell you to drink you know it's time to make moves.
Continually hoping for good in a terrible situation is just a maladaptive coping mechanism
Do yourself a favor and break out of that cycle. Recognize what is and isn't good for you. Listen to your intuition when it's telling you to leave a bad situation. Don't sit there hoping for things to change: Respect yourself enough to save yourself.
The problem with being a mixed blooded Caribbean witch and magical paths.
There different ideas about how one follows the magical path when it comes to dieties, worship and their rituals. Some say you can worship only from what is passed down ancestrally, others say you can follow whatever calls to you and do research. Some say you can only learn from a master or initiated priest/ess and Others say you can only follow dieties your bloodline has a link to.
This works when you have strong ties to your community, when your lineage is known to you, when their are concrete rituals set out and widely known. When the magick that you know is right for you is accessible. That doesn't work for someone who is mixed race, mixed cultured and has little way outside of an ancestry test to find out what exactly they are.
At that point all you have is your gut, your past lives, and the tiny bit of information you can gleam from what's left of your family history.
For example. I was born in Canada, far away from the land and climates that my ancestors called home. My family hails from the Jamaica and Barbados respectively, we are mixed with African, Taino (native American), asian (I suspect Chinese but the story isn't concrete), Irish and British (at least). Both sides of my family firmly converted to Christian at least five generations ago and have no ties to ancestral spirituality. However both sides of my family are steeped in magic. My dad's side being spirit plane warriors and my mother's side being manifesters and (probably from stories that were passed down) ceremonial practitioners. Mom's sides magic didn't die out with Christianity due to the correlation between Christian worship and ceremonial magic, where as my father's, still strong, has become less accessible as the skill hasn't been passed down knowingly. However I have no idea where they came from and as such cannot trace back to specific ancestral dieties in Africa. Through the Taino there are a few links, but because I don't know enough and resources are slim that route feels less accessible, though support is there. British and Irish are accessible ties because of the mountain of information out there, but I can feel my African ancestors being angry with me as I work with those dieties, especially if they feel neglected. I also don't know what stream, as there is druid Viking and Wiccan. And whatever Asian blood is in me there are a callings to Buddhism and Hindu.
It's a huge mess and leaves me with too many paths to go down and myself pulled in so many directions, especially when dieites from different cultures don't get along.
So what's a Hume to do?
When some streams can be researched but the most important one can't, when you have opposing bloodlines and when there's so much to do and to honor?
I found a middle ground in Egyptian dieties for my African ancestors. After past life regression I found myself there and my ancestors are pleased with this path. As spiritualities come on my radar I explore and ask the dieties for guidance to my lost ancestors. I've had friends come my way with knowledge about me personally that I had lost along with many synchronicities to prove the truth to me and have found the correct stream of European magic. Hindu hasn't thrown me out yet so I'm still working there. And Taino holds many similarities to Egyptian diety structure.
It's taken me years of trial and error to find and figure out who and what I am based on the factors of ancestral and past life knowledge. I've had to use past lives to figure this out but never taking from a culture that's outside of my known makeup. Its appropriation of a culture and their spirituality. Especially when it has been handed and past down for so many generations nearly untouched by foreign hands. Finding a master is out of my monetary budget and so I listen to my dieties and they tell me what they want. My ceremonies and rituals are conducted based on what they require and what I can give. And getting all of this passed down from my parents or grandparents is impossible. They are so Christian, if they knew I was writing this they'd have me committed. I can only take the raw skills they taught me or talents handed down.
For someone of mixed culture and race, no one way is the right way. But I think with some trial and error, it's possible to find dieties and cultures that you blend well with and you can follow knowing that your walking in step with your dynasty.
Depression naps are mandatory and non negationable.
My mind and body need a break from all the buffoornery so I don't fall head deep into a full one.
Uplifting dark skin people is not dragging light skin people.
Spread the word.
Depression isn't so simple as sadness. Sometimes it's just the inability to get out of bed.
