Youâve probably seen a few cubes sitting in an art gallery and questioned why they were there. Why are machine-made cubes in an art gallery? How did we get here? This is the case for Minimalism.

How do you know Kesha's telling the truth? And why not leave it up to the court to decide?
I donât know Kesha is telling the truth, and I am willing to leave it up the the legal system to determine whether her producer should be convicted and what his sentence should be.Â
I do not, however, think that she should be legally obliged to never write or perform another song unless she records several more albums with someone she clearly hates. Iâve got issues with the American legal system, but in this case the issue I have is with Sony and Dr. Luke, who have the ability to release an artist from a contract that she will never complete, and that is shoveling mounds of awful publicity on them, but are still NOT WILLING TO DO IT. Apparently this is to set an example to other artists and show them that there is no way out of your contractâŠeverâŠin any caseâŠeven if it means you never write a song again with us or without us.Â
That seems like a pretty awful reason to put a person through this Hell.
It does not seem like the behavior of rational, compassionate adults to see this situation and say âWell, what if sheâs just throwing a tantrumâŠwhat if sheâs just making it all up to get out of a contract.â
Even if that is the case, the contract must be an awful enough thing in the life of this young woman that she will go through years of expensive, painful, embarrassing bullshit to free herself from it. If I was the entertainment industry CEO in this situation, I would be questioning not just the legitimacy of my actions, but the legitimacy of my entire business model if it requires such draconian control over the freedom of performers.
Yeah. This.

Retro Game Room Version 2 I needed to patch the walls and paint, so I thought I might as well change it all up.
23 different consoles and handhelds, about 450 old games. Framemeister xrgb-mini upscaler so it doesnât look bad on a new tv, handmade custom MAME cabinet, and a fuzzy chair and fuzzy carpet :)
A lot of work, and a lifetime of collecting!

In an incredible plot twist, Iâm actually someoneâs wife.

Mark, Harrison, & Carrie behind the scenes.
I get really protective over Carrie Fisher because nerds will go on and on about how cool and great Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford still are, but theyâll always be like âCarrie Fisher sure didnât age well huhâ and itâs like you know what? fuck you. she aged beautifully. sheâs amazing. sheâs gorgeous. just because you canât fantasize about her returning to the gross metal slave bikini doesnât mean she isnât exactly as incredible as her old cast mates
Carrie Fisher is a fucking gift to humanity who we donât deserve, and if you donât know that, youâre ignorant, or you canât read, or both.

Here we have an example of Starbucks giving out free coffee. Itâs all good. But not every coffee shop is as well off as Starbucks. It has taking years and years for them to get to the point that they can give away free coffee. But when you give away too much free coffee, people think that coffee should be free. They think coffee is a right and they shouldnât have to pay for it. They forget that coffee cost money, then you have to pay people to make it plus the cost of the marketing and packaging of the coffee. Now say Dunkin Donuts says, âStarbucks, we can give away coffee but what about Maâs Joe Shoppeâ, maybe we shouldnât always give away coffee because people will think that Maâs Joe Shoppe should as well and they really canât afford to.â  So Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks agree to limit when they give away free coffee. Now we have people mad at  Dunkin Donuts because they stood for their coffee and Maâs Joe Shoppe, as well. My point is Art cost money and time to make. People donât think about the fact if all successful artist gave away their art how that may effect artist who are arenât successful. People will expect all artist to give away their art and most canât. Or how successful, well known artist would be if they stopped charging for their art. Music, Art, TV, Movies, anything that entertains us, itâs their jobs. Awesome, high paying jobs but still jobs. How would you feel if you didnât get paid for your job. Or better yet, you worked really hard at your job, starting at minimal wage, you work your way up the ladder to president of our company but now you have reach the top they stop paying you. Sure you still get the perks of the job but not the money and you better watch out because there is some younger gun aiming for your job. Â
The old gods are dead
Zeus sits at the bar, heâll buy a thousand and one drinks and the girls who he smiles at will raise their eyebrows and think of the pepper spray tucked into their sleeves.
Hera waits at home. She knows the numbers of all the girls and she has their facebooks open on the computer. Her hands hover over the keyboard., She wants to tell them that men will always lie. She wants to take her own advice. She never will.
Apollo and Artemis travel the world. They are chasing the sun. Chasing the moon. They will never catch up. Their hand are curled around each others hip bones. Never in public though. They look too similar for that now. Society has learned judgement and so they keep their caresses safe in the shadows.
Poseidon wanders the shore. He wears a plastic poncho and carries a bag of trash. His tears mix with the salt water. No one can tell the difference. A girl with hair that moves like serpents trails after him, retribution in her eyes.
Hades lies in bed, his wife curled around him. He smiles because people will always believe in death and finally, finally he has beaten his brothers at something.
Athena paces through college campuses, handing out pamphlets on architecture. She scoffs at professors who are simply going through the motions. She carries signs in her hands as she marches through the streets with the students, screaming about the newest problem. She laughs wild, these children, these fearless children are her people.
Hestia wants her family to come home. She waits in the doorway, arms outstretched and a smile like forgiveness waiting to embrace the siblings whom she knows will never return.
Demeter counts down the days until her daughter returns. She smiles when children cheer over the snow days she gives them. There was a time when she had a child like that.
Persephone kisses her husband and grins when people tremble. She is vengeful and wears flowers in her hair and she will make damn sure that the world will never forget her name.
Ares walks through the Middle East, picking his way around the ruins of an elementary school. He stopped understanding war a long time ago. This was not brave, this was not heroic. This was senseless.
Aphrodite narrows her eyes at boys in cars who yell obscene things. Sheâs long since stopped romanticizing love. She is gaunt and over worked but sometimes she sees a teenage girl handing her baby over to an older couple who had tried for years and she feels young again. Sometimes, she sees Ares from across the room as soldiers embrace their loved ones and they smile at each other.Â
Hephaestus limps through his shop, his hands are worn down, his back is still twisted but people donât seem to notice anymore. He makes their furniture, their toys and trinkets and they thank him, they pay him.
Hermes runs through the streets of New York, Tokyo, London. He is young in this time, young and beautiful and slipping between business men, his hands finding their way into their pockets. He never stops laughing.Â
Dionysus mixes Zeus his drinks. He watches his family grin and cry and get sick in the back room of the bar. He holds back their hair and hands them another drink before they even ask. Heâs been here a long time. Heâs seen them drunk more often then heâs seen them sober. He is watching them flicker out and fade.Â
The gods are dying. The gods are dead. The gods are us.
