can someone PLEASE write a fic that goes somewhat like this:

Lena is standing alone in line at the movie theatre (because she wants to see Oppenheimer of course) when someone taps on her shoulder. When she turns around she's met by the biggest grin she's ever seen on a pretty stranger's face.

The woman asks her if she wants to watch the Barbie movie and if she'd be willing to get seats together (Kara has already seen the movie with Nia and then even managed to drag Alex to another screening but no one wanted to come for a third rewatch but she doesn't want to watch it alone and honestly Lena looked kind of lonely)

And Lena being Lena can't say no to the pretty woman and that's how she ends up watching and crying to (don't blame her okay) the Barbie movie with a handsome stranger who takes her for food as a thank you afterwards.

Lena usually never ventured out to the theaters but she was dying to see the new Oppenheimer movie. Renting it at home as her surround sound blared it through the penthouse was ideal but it had been such a long time since she's been around people she didn't work with. She honestly didn't even know what else was in theaters but there seemed to be a lot of people here in line and dressed in…pink?

She tried to look past it as the line moved forward a little more. It was a painfully long line, and when a hand tapped her shoulder she hoped it was someone who had mistaken her for someone else. Lena turned to see a bright smile from a blonde haired woman in a dusty pink button down and her hair pulled back. Lena was honestly taken aback by how bright this woman seemed to be.

"Hi, are you going to see the new Barbie movie?"

Lena blinked as she eyed the woman, taking her in before she spoke again.

"I just… I didn't want to see it alone and no one else would go with me. I didn't see anyone in line with you so I just figured maybe we could sit together? Or not, just…wanted to—"

"Sure. I'd love to." Lena interrupted, surprising even herself as the woman's smile grew even more.

"Really? Oh that's awesome! My treat please." The woman said and stepped beside her, "I'm Kara by the way."

"Lena." She smiled and then saw it was their turn to get tickets.

"Two for Barbie please." Kara said and handed over her card to pay before the tickets were handed back in return. Kara seemed about to be busting out at the seams to get in there.

Lena didn't say anything as she was pulled inside and up to the concessions counter, "I was going to get a large popcorn, would you like anything? Candy, a pretzel?"

She honestly didn't know what to say.

"No, thank you though." She said as she watched the other woman order enough for both of them combined and then some.

"I'll share if you change your mind." Kara said as arms were full and followed Lena to the ticket taker.

Once they had handed over their ticket stub and found their seats the previews were just starting. Lena still wasn't sure how she had gotten into this situation. Seeing a movie no doubt about a toy with a complete stranger. Sure, a very attractive handsome stranger, but that's beside the point.

"We got in just in time." Kara beamed and glanced over to Lena as she stuffed popcorn in her mouth. "Previews are the best part about theaters. Do you like to watch them too?"

"I suppose, though it's been quite some time since I've been to the movies."

"You decided to come just for the Barbie movie?" Kara asked with wide eyes, "I figured since you were in like…black, you'd be here for that oppen-whatever it's called. Not that you don't look great in black?"

"Shhh."

Kara winced and barely caught the sight of Lena blushing as she tried to wrap her head around this situation. "You did come for that other movie didn't you?"

"It's Oppenheimer, and yeah…I did but I- well you asked…I didn't want…" Lena Luthor was never at a loss for words, not ever but as those ocean blue eyes stared at her with rapt attention, she was, "I didn't want you to watch this movie alone."

"You totally should have said something!"

"Shhh"

"Lena, I've seen this movie twice already! It's awesome yeah but I would have seen that other one if you'd have said something…"

"Hey can you keep it down? Some of us like the previews." A woman beside Kara had said and Kara apologized and leaned closer to Lena so she could be quiet for those around her.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know…"

"Kara, it's alright. I agreed, didn't I? I'm sure this movie is good if you've seen it so many times. Maybe…you can go with—"

The lights dimmed more and the entire theater seemed to go silent. Kara quickly pulled her attention away from Lena and to the big screen as she practically bounced up and down to see the film start. Lena didn't know if she welcomed that interruption or despised it. She had been about to ask out a perfectly good stranger. Sure they were in the same situation Lena almost created just then, but for some reason it would have been different in her mind.

So Lena leaned back as the intro played and she remained focused on the screen despite her mind going a million miles a minute. Thinking about how she'd put herself in this situation, if that other woman really did like her black blouse, if this was a date, if—

Lena willed her mind to stop as she pulled all her attention to the movie. She figured it wouldn't be too horrible to sit through a movie that's hot pink and screams a childhood Lena never got to experience.

That's what she would have liked anyway, but a quarter of the way through she never realized how much she could have related to a film about dolls. She hadn't even realized something so comical as a Barbie would describe and articulate exactly how she felt every single day. How the messages to just be herself was more advice and love than she had ever received in her life.

Lena didn't like to cry. She didn't like to show weakness or give her mother proof that she didn't have what it takes to dominate in a world that's so brutal and callous.

She felt a nudge towards the end and saw Kara hold out some kind of red handkerchief for her. Lena expected a smirk, a remark about how dumb it was for her to be crying, but as she took the cotton cloth, she only saw sympathy and understanding.

When the credits started to roll, neither of them moved. They watched as all the patrons filed out in a seemingly orderly fashion. They also didn't speak as Lena held the handkerchief back.

"Keep it." She said as she looked at Lena with such compassion Lena thought she'd drown in those eyes of hers. "I felt the same way when I watched it the first time too."

She doubted it was the same for Kara as it was for herself but she appreciated the candor. "When I was adopted it took so long to feel like I belonged, that just because I wasn't like them, I still had a place there." Kara said as she looked back at the screen. "Eliza, my adoptive mom bought me the astronomy Barbie. It came with a little telescope and everything. It…reminded me of my parents. I know that might sound dumb but—"

"It's sounds wonderful." Lena said quietly as their eyes met again. She was glad she had gotten her tears under control by the time the lights had come back on. She was sure her face was red and puffy but she tried not to think about that. "I was adopted too and I don't believe I want to fit in with my family."

Kara took her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze before she smiled, "Would you like to go see that Oppenburg movie now?"

"It's Oppenheimer, and yes." She grinned, "Only if we can sit together."

One weird thing about America is that former presidents are always addressed as "president". Even if they got impeached. It's weird and pseudoroyalty and I don't like it, but that is standard usage.

tbh i dont think anybody at the OCS actually deals with emotions and traumas like a normal healthy person, bea and lilith obviously just repress and dont talk about it, ava makes everything into a joke and thinks thats peak coping, mary punches things and calls it a day, and camila always stay smiley and it seems like nothing ever affects her, until one day you learn she has a regularly scheduled 3 minutes of screaming and crying session in the showers when nobody's around
