I absolutely love your fics, "I'm Standing Guard (I'm falling apart)" and "I'm on My Way Home to You" are absolutely my favorite and I've read them multiple times. Also sage/viper fics you got are so amazing too! ("Anything" after that music vid drop 🤌🏼)
I want to start your fic "Please, Hurry, Leave Me, I Can't Breathe" story but I have terrible luck with uh unhappy endings? I'm minding the tags and know it's a work in progress and you say it gets better but does will it have a happy ending? Or like not an unhappy one?
I love your work and wanna read so bad!
First of all, I just want to say that I saw your username, went "Oh yeah, I remember replying to your comments on ao3 not that long ago :D" and then when I checked my ao3 inbox, I saw that the last time you commented was 156 days ago. What the fuck. Time isn't real guys
Anyway, back on topic—I'm honored you love my fics so much! Words can't express how happy I am about my sagebean fics doing well and getting love, but that being said, it's always nice to see people who adore SG(FA) and I'm on My Way Home to You. Sagebean is my OTP these days, but I still have a soft spot for nanobite and I'll never forget my roots writing them 😌🫶 (As for anything, yeah, I was absolutely possessed after the MV dropped, so I'm glad my sleep-deprived and adrenaline-fueled writing was and is appreciated lmao).
Now then...unfortunately, I don't think you're going to like my answer here. Not because I'm saying the fic is going to end unhappily, but because I can't tell you how it will end. I've had the end of PHLM planned out since around chapter 6ish, but as you may have seen in this recent post of mine, I plan on keeping the end under wraps pretty much indefinitely. In my ideal world, only those who read the final chapter of the fic will know whether Sage lives or not.
I swear I'm not doing this to be cruel to you guys or anything! And I know that the whole "bury your gays" trend in media has a lot of people (myself included, honestly,) tired of seeing queer people die, so in that regard, I won't shame or blame anyone if they just don't want to risk reading PHLM out of fear that it will just be another tragedy.
But. If you think you can stomach the possibility, I highly, highly recommend that you give the fic a shot.
I'm not just saying that because I wrote it. Despite what the premise of the fic may suggest, this story has never really been about whether Sage lives or dies. Well, it has, but at its core, I always intended for this fic to be more so about what Sage (and Viper, and the VP) does in the face of her impending death. You can tell by reading the tags alone that Sage has very complicated feelings about everything right off the bat, and the majority of the fic is about how she works through them and decides to move forward. I've always been of the opinion that, whether she lives or dies at the end, the outcome won't cheapen everything she and the others do leading up to that.
Don't get me wrong, I promise I'm not saying she definitely dies! And if she does live, it's going to be beautiful and well-deserved. But if she doesn't, then that doesn't make everything she does and all of the progress she makes throughout the fic pointless.
Well, I've said my piece lmao. So, yeah, I unfortunately can't tell you if PHLM will end happily or not. Again, I won't blame anyone—including you, of course—if they just don't have it in them. There's no shame in that.
I've put a lot of thought into it, and concealing Sage's fate plays a big part in maintaining the message I want to send. It may be overambitious, but I'm trying to tell a very specific, delicate, and hopefully, impactful story with this. So, especially since you've enjoyed my other fics so much, I kindly ask that you trust me enough to tell you that story :)
