Narcolepsy Log
First day back at school from spring break. I slept for 8 hours last night, felt a little groggy waking up. I had class from 8am-2pm, and nearing the end I felt tired and dehydrated. I got home and fell asleep for an hour. It’s somehow already 6:30pm and I finally feel up to getting homework done, but I feel sleepy again. This has been a pretty typical schedule for me lately. I always seem to feel ridiculously exhausted around 2:30, and I've had a few occasions on my drives from school where I felt sleepy. Not dangerously so, but enough to make me realize that I should get home soon. One day I had to keep the air on full blast and pinch myself to stay totally alert.
I can do this.
Breakfast:
Yogurt (110)

Lunch:
Giant Salad from Corner Bakery (190)
Dinner:
1/2 Corner Bakery Grilled Veggie Sandwich (330)
Snack:
Big bowl of Miso Soup (45)
Total: 765
Exercise: None, studied/lounged around today.
Notes: I think it’s this new medication I’m taking to keep me awake, but I feel like I might have more energy than before. It’s still pretty early to tell. I wasn’t really hungry today.
Day 1(ish)
I’m back at it again. A pretty horrible first semester of college and constant stress eating/stopping the medication that helps me sleep really messed with me. Some days, I really beat myself up over it. If anything, i’m trying to see it as a learning opportunity. I’m learning that I really have to take care of myself in order to feel good about myself. I’m learning that I need to ask for help early on. I’m also learning that I’m not invincible. I can’t take on so much stress without having a healthy outlet for it. Otherwise, my sleep, eating habits, stability, and happiness go out the window.
Here’s to starting the process again, and hopefully learning a bit more than I did last time.
