Netlix Movies that are good

I started this blog a couple of years ago for any movie buff or the occasional film goer to be able to get a good reccomendation on a film. I love all genres of film. I am also a big fan of the classics. I don't mean just the 80's classics, I mean the silent era/ black and white... turner classic movies type of films. I am an old soul when it comes to music and movies but I also love the new scene of films that are willing to use classic methods with a twist. This blog is for any and all of you to post whatever films you deem are worthy enough to be seen by others. So whenever you watch a good film and want to recommend it, be sure to submit. Also don't hesitatate to ask me for a recommendation. There's nothing that I enjoy more than recommending a good film for you to watch.

The Rainmaker

An up and coming lawyer receives a case against an insurance company and finds out that 90% of claims are rejected to be covered. This leads him on a spiral to figure out the truth that the insurance company is trying to cover up.

 This is a good movie to watch on a Saturday. It's not boring like some court case dramas. It has several little stories attached to it which make it more enjoyable.

Don't f*** with cats- hunting an internet killer

A documentary that shows how a group on Facebook actively followed the twisted mind of an animal killer. The animal killer repeatedly threatening that someday he'd move on to people. With no one to believe them the group investigates to try to find the killer's whereabouts and next moves.

A gripping 3 episode documentary that leaves you wanting to finish the mini series as soon as possible.

Marriage Story

Two marriage partners seeking a divorce begin to lose themselves as their lawyers ponder on what their next move should be.

A very sad movie but a very good movie. Scarlett Johansen and Adam driver both give powerful performances that leave you wanting more. Don't watch this if you're in a gloomy mood because it will make you more sad.

Deliverance

A group of guys is on a rafting expedition to see the Cahulawassee river. They trust a family of small town people to bring their cars back to the other side of the river so they won't have to set back to get them. They soon realize that adventure in the outdoors is quite dangerous.

Book of Eli

Eli is trying to make it in a world filled with waste and little resources. He's trying to find some goodness in a world without rules. Eli stumbles upon a community hell bent on finding a sacred book. When they figure out that Eli may know where this book is, it becomes a hunt for survival.

This movie is pretty good. It reminded me a lot of Mad Max. This is a good film to watch if you like action/ apocalyptic films.

Cargo

Andy is just trying to survive with his little family of 3. The only problem is he's living in a world invaded by zombies. Everything goes wrong when Andy's wife gets bitten. Now Andy is trying to save his daughter. This proves to be a hard task when the people around him are crazier than the zombies.

This is a really good zombie movie. Never felt boring or dragging. If you are into the zombie genre give this movie a shot.

Fargo

Jerry is having financial trouble. So he comes up with a plan to get cash. He decides that he is going to hire some petty criminals to kidnap his wife and hold her for ransom. Everything is going fine until something goes wrong and it leads into a chain of bad occurrences.

This movie was a really well made thriller. This is a great movie to watch on a Friday night. The whole cast is pretty good.

The Princess Diaries

Mia Thermopolis is an average sixteen year old girl. Her greatest ambition is to become invisible. Since she is fairly unpopular and quiet in school this comes as an easy task for her. That is until her Grandmother who resides in Europe comes to pay her a visit in San Francisco. Her grandmother who she has never met has some news to share with Mia. All Mia has ever known about her grandmother is that she is extremely wealthy. Her grandmother reveals to Mia that she's part of a royal family, so Mia goes from being invisible to being the most visible sixteen year old in the United States.

Glow

Ruth wants to become an actress very badly. Unfortunately for her no one really wants to give her a chance. An agent tells her about this casting call for a tv show about women in wrestling. So Ruth goes and discovers GLOW (Gorgeous women of wrestling). She realizes that although this wasn't her original plan, she doesn't mind going down this route.

Calibre

Two men on a hunting expedition are having a good time. When they start to hunt, one them is uneasy about going hunting but goes against his better judgement. While they are out hunting things go horribly wrong and they both end up living their worst nightmares.

This movie is a really good thriller and it shows how bad actions coupled with  gossip could lead to ultimate tragedy.

The Cube

6 strangers awaken in a weird cube contraption. They find that within each cube there are several doors that can be opened. They soon realize that each door/room may or may not possess a trap. So uncertain they decide to figure out the riddle to this cube contraption and why they are in there in the first place.

The Boy

Greta gets a job as a live in nanny at an old English home. She thinks this will be a great way to earn extra cash for a couple of months and be able to restart her life. Then the day comes when Greta gets to meet the peculiar 8 year old named Braums. She discovers that the boy is actually a life sized doll of an 8 year old boy. Greta feels uneasy because the Heelshires treat this doll as if he were alive. She decides to keep the job but not follow the rules that the family left for her in place to care for their son. This has serious consequences as she begins to witness weird happenings in the house and in her life.

The 40 year old virgin

Andy is a really sweet guy who seems to be living a happy life. When some of his coworkers start asking him questions about his love life. They realize Andy has never had a love life and decide to help Andy so that he could find ladies. That way that he could finally have some love in his life.

This movie is really funny and all the actors in this film are great in their roles. I usually watch this on t.v. but if you're brave enough to watch it on netflix watch it. It has a lot of sexual content and sexual dialogue.

Casper

Casper is a friendly ghost that just wants a friend. Stuck with his crazy unlces in his old mansion. His uncles are keen on scaring every person that comes into close contact with their house. This becomes a big problem when the owner wants to scavenge the house to find her lost inheritance. So she finds out about a ghost hunter. The ghost hunter happens to have a daughter that is the same age as Casper. Casper decides to do everything in his power to make this girl his friend. Although it is hard since he's a ghost and she's deathly afraid of ghosts.

This is a really good 90's movie. It's one of my favorites to watch around Halloween time. It just brings back so much nostalgia.

Deidra and Laney rob a train

After their mother goes to jail Deidra and Laney have a rough time paying for all the bills. Deidra makes a plan to start robbing trains to be able to survive. No one suspects her because she is the top student in her class. Deidra tries to maintain balance between her academic life and her hidden criminal ways.

Queen of Katwe

A Ugandan girl who sells corn everyday has a sudden turn of events when she finds a chess club. While there she discovers the world of chess. She learns that there are tournaments and this inspires her to compete. Being a natural at what she does she begins to win every tournament close to her community. With the help of those around her, her life will change forever.

Sicario

An FBI agent who always plays by the rules is recruited for a special assignment to aid in the war against drugs across the border. While on this assignment all her morals will be tested and she'll learn what it is to be amongst wolves.

This movie is really suspenseful and it has wonderful actors in it. There is tension in the film almost immediately and it grips you from start to finish.
