Knowing that trans women of color started the movement in the united states and were literally immediately erased and excluded from what they started is the most deeply jading knowledge.
It is the original sin of the so-called queer community and it damns it from the cradle.
no white gay boy will ever reblog this, watch:
no white gay will reblog this
no white lgb person will reblog this
Without Stonewall, without the efforts of Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, the LGBTQ Community wouldnât be where it is today. Donât forget the roots, donât forget the catalyst.
and then TERFs wanna be like, âhmm well the LGBT community existed before Stonewall!â
but likeâŚBecky, of course LGBTQ+ people existed before Stonewall. Weâve all existed since the beginning of time. But the movement got a shock to its senses, a jump-start, a rocket-into-space when that glass shattered via Marsha P. Johnson, and when Sylvia Rivera was up on-stage protesting guess who was on the sidelines heckling her?
The same fuckers who wonât ever reblog or acknowledge this
Long ago, in the faraway land of ancient Greece, there was a golden age of powerful gods and extraordinary heroes. And the greatest and strongest of all these heroes was the mighty Hercules.

âYouâre imperfect, and youâre wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging.â

âI worked on Wall Street for five years. Â I enjoyed the work, but always had the feeling I could do something more meaningful. Â So I moved back to London and tried to set up a theater company. Â I wanted to find a way to help marginalized people tell their stories. Â But I didnât get very far. Â Because after six months of planning, I got a call from an old classmate. Â I hadnât spoken to him in sixteen years. Â He told me that his company had won a bid to produce the Special Olympics opening ceremony. Â His vision was to allow people with intellectual disabilities to design the ceremony themselves. Â And he asked me to be involved. Â It was a dream job. Â I went to work immediately. Â We reached out to special education centers around the UAE. Â We asked the teachers for advice. Â We led workshops with the students, asking them: âWhat excites you?â, âWhat are your challenges?â , âWhat would you like to tell the world?â Â Then we took those ideas to professional choreographers, and refined them into a performance. Â We brought the results back to the students, and asked: âIs this your vision? Â What would you change?â Â When the students finally recognized the work as their own, we knew our job was finished.â (Special Olympics World Games, Abu Dhabi, UAE)

Headcanon that of fucking course Mcgonagall was invited to Ron and Hermioneâs wedding and that during the reception Ron approached her at her table and held out his hand and asked her to dance, âyou know, for old timesâ sake.â
âWe [trans people] are not an irrelevant, âoutsideâ problem: we are already here inside the church. We are currently filling the pews, the choir lofts, the Sunday school classes, and even the pulpits. Many of us serve nobly and well on various church boards and committees. We are your teachers, musicians, deacons, elders, ushers, choir members, superintendents, pastors, and family members. We sit next to you or stand before you in practically every congregation on Sunday mornings. Youâre probably not aware that weâre transgender because most of us have been forced by socioreligious oppression and fear of reprisal to hide our gender-variant orientation; but just because you donât know about us doesnât mean we donât exist and arenât a part of your life.
âŚWe have always been in the church, we are here now, and we will be in the church for as long as the church exists.
âŚThe Christian church must simply get used to dealing with us. Weâre here, weâre not going away, and as more of us begin to come out publicly we will also increasingly insist upon taking our rightful role as open, active lay and ordained persons, and as equal participants in the central life of the church. Godâs justice requires nothing less, so the church had better get ready.â
â Virginia Ramey Mollenkott and Vanessa Sheridan, Transgender Journeys
Math proves that capitalism sucks and that capitalists are greedy.
So he gave millions and you gave $40 and feel like youâre doing more?
âThis is Indigenous land; youâre not supposed to have walls here. We never did for a millennia. We never had a prison; we always took care of our elders, took care of our children, always provided for them, taught them right from wrong. I wish I could see that energyâŚ. put that energy to making this country really, really great.âÂ

I was at Disneyland yesterday and when I walked into the Princess Fantasy Faire I welled up with tears as I witnessed a magical moment with the newest princess Elena of Avalor speaking in full Spanish to a small princess visiting from Latin America.
Representation matters.
Oooh sheâs so pretty đ
Me: crying at this beautiful magical momentâŚ
Also me: I donât understand what is being said except zapatos. They are talking about shoes and Iâm crying again.
I guess I shouldâve translated for the non-Spanish speakers. Elena: âYour shoes are so sparkly! You know my grandmother always says a princess needs something sparkly so everyone knows that you are a princess and look; you have your crown, your dress and your shoes. Everything is so beautiful!â
Iâm squealing I love this!!!đđđđđž
