His breath isn't-I don't know, Merrill.

His breath isn't-I don't know, Merrill.
How do you wear shoes without feeling like your toes are going to be pinched off?
Merrill, is there a reason you're asking so many questions?
Hawke, do you ever poke yourself on your armour?
What on earth would give you that idea, Merrill?
She returned the smile gladly. If she was smiling that meant nothing was exploding. That was good. “Oh, how sweet of you. I’m…” Merrill suddenly found herself at a loss for words. She beckoned Hawke inside in an attempt to disguise that. Varric said she was looking thinner these days. The mirror was taking a lot out of her. “I’m doing well. It’s been a strange week.”
"Strange?" Seryn gave her a small nod when she entered the house. She took a moment to do a quick survey and did her best not to frown. Strange could be good. It didn't always have to be dangerous. "How so?"

The Champion of Kirkwall.
Though Merrill never thought of her in that way. It was odd, really, that she could call the Champion ‘friend.’ At least she thought she was Hawke’s friend. Sometimes it was difficult to tell. “Aneth ara, Hawke! Are you here alone?” She peered around her shoulder, as if expecting to see someone trailing in her footsteps.
Seryn offered the woman a small smile in greeting. How could it have come that she called a Dalish mage her friend? All the same, Merrill was someone she felt she could trust. That was somewhat an odd feeling.
"I am. I came to see how you're doing."

“Andaran atish’an, Stranger.” Quinn gave the woman a small, friendly smile in greeting.
“Did you need something?” Seryn responded, a certain bite to her tone. She didn’t return the man’s smile and there was no warmth to be found in her eyes.
“If we’re speaking in general, than a drink would be lovely. From you, however, I need nothing.” The elf shrugged, unphased by the red head’s coldness. “I simply thought I’d be civil and say hello.”
"That's... Rare, to say in the least." She nodded to him. "If you'd like that drink, I wouldn't mind so much to treat you. Though, I would like to know what brings you here."

.
Well. It looks like my chores are done for now.
I’d rather consider you a woman of great strength.
Or perhaps just a fool, with the way I do everyone in Kirkwall’s bidding…
No. A good person.
Hardly.
Do you think I would wear the scarf of anything less?
I suppose you already do.
I’d rather consider you a woman of great strength.
Or perhaps just a fool, with the way I do everyone in Kirkwall’s bidding…

Lady Elissa, then. Did you have some need for me?
Nothing in particular, no. My husband spoke so vehemently about you, I just had to meet you myself. Thedas has had its fair share of women warriors lately. You do a credit to your sex.
I do nothing of the sort, if you'll pardon me.
Of course I have.
-crosses her arms-
What?
You haven’t spent all your time drinking, then, I take it?
And why would I do that?
Consider me a woman of little faith.
Mmm… …
Ha. If I could let somebody look for Brutus, I would. But, the beast is only loyal and obedient for me. He’s more trouble than he’s worth sometimes.
Oh, good. That’s one less thing someone’s asking me to do for them.
Don’t worry, I’m not one to go looking for people to do my dirty work for me… … I had enough of that during the Blight.
Oh good. You have sense.
Of course I have.
