Prologue - Setting the Game Board
Introduction - Part 1
Person finds a cursed amulet that fills the wearer's mind with thoughts of treason and regicide as part of a blood curse but the wearer was already pretty staunchly anti-monarchy so they don't really notice.
Me when i'm chilling with my friends and then they keep saying stuff like 'you can't live without the amulet' and 'i think you need to quit the amulet' like bro i literally can whenever i want. And i Dont Want To
Not gonna lie, the thing I love the most about Seto Kaiba is that he is quite possibly one of the most unintentionally hilarious characters of all time.
Like I'm not even talking some of those great dub lines (I've watched both dub and sub), but just his entire existence in the franchise is hilarious because of who he is and the dynamic he adds to basically everything just by existing. He's just so damn funny.
autistic orphan cheats a rich asshole ceo into adopting more kids than he intended to. usurps this dude's company so brutally that the ceo just throws himself off of a building. proceeds to hard pivot from weapon manufacturing to children's entertainment. his first major venture is a theme park centered around slaughtering one specific guy he hates. 10,000 people in the audience watch him get his brain shattered into bits as punishment for his hubris. this fails to fix him, it only makes him slightly less murderous and significantly more socially inept. he doesn't give a shit about magic and friendship because science can do the same thing and is much more cost effective in his eyes because there is nothing more bankrupt than having to admit that you like someone. his flat out refusal to believe in ghosts makes him impervious to being possessed. his favorite ghost relocates to the afterlife and he launches himself into the fucking sun to chase after him, leaving his multibillion yen company in the trustworthy hands of a middle schooler. ladies and gentlemen, i present to you, Seto Kaiba
Part 1/4 of a little prideshipping comic I did for a gift exchange!! The prompt was just so good I had to keep running with it so it ended up with like 22 pages..so stay tuned!
heh. didn't even stand a chance.
to everyone in the notes asking for a translation: panel 1: "weigh your heart" (the suffix pronoun for heart should be .k not .ti i think but i see what you are going for. also, my copy of faulkner doesn't have a copy of the word but it's pretty clear from context what it means) panel 4: "what"
anyway op good job this is really funny and better than 99.9% of hieroglyphs on the internet
@thatlittleegyptologist
xAa is 'to throw/dispatch/abandon' because fAj is the verb 'to weigh' (this can be checked on the Thesaurus Linguae Aegyptiae), .tj should be =k as already pointed out.
Thus with xAa as the imperative 'dispact/throw', the scales determinative doesn't belong to that word and is thus a word in and of itself the 3-consonant jws.w (the .w is just a plural, it's still 3-consonants), and then .tj which should be =k.
It's more: xAa jws.w ib=k 'chuck your heart on the scales' *ma'at gets obliterated* ptr 'what'.
As an aside; it's not good practice with Middle Egyptian to go 'we can infer this from context' when you can't find that word in one dictionary. You should be consulting at least three. Also, because my ass has been doing this for nearly 20 years, just so you're all aware xAa is in Faulkner:
This is page 183 of my personal copy of Faulkner's Concise Dictionary of Middle Egyptian. xAa is right there! You'll see that the picture of the entry for the TLA also cites it as FCD 'Faulkner's Concise Dictionary' 183.
You know the art is good when the academics start getting spicy in the notes
More Yu-Gi-Oh pop up cafe merch was announced. It's SO cute! I love the one of Ryou and all the food!

I like painting metallics, can you tell?
I think we've had enough of the "Murder Demon" Mischaracterization for a while.

Dark Side of Dimensions is a good movie.
The funniest part about Ryou Bakura is that he spent a grand total of a day and a half possessed by Dark Bakura the entire series, and that the Ring for the most part genuinely did leave him the fuck alone.
