Haim.

Primavera Sound, Barcelona.

1. Alana Haim plays a gig wearing only an oversized jumper and heeled boots - she gives no shits.

2. Danielle is the driving force behind a masterful performance.

3. Este makes the most fantastic bass faces and all while wearing a flawless red dress. She speaks Spanish to the audience, tambien. 

But maybe my favourite part about their live performance is the comradery and sisterhood they show on stage. Quick teasing comments like; “Alana! Don’t say that!”, thrown at the baby would sound at home in any household. When they play their instruments side-by-side and jam together on stage they create an element of strength and empowerment which transcends to the audience.

After the show, I spoke to a guy who told me;

"I just don’t see the big deal. They just make funny faces when they play. I just don’t get the whole ‘Haim thing’."

Sorry, brother, maybe this is something that you weren’t meant to ‘get’.
