Andrea and Charlie often cook together, both build off each other’s recipes and bond in the kitchen
Charlie sometimes gets sentimental when cooking with Andrea, it reminds him of his mom
Andrea sometimes scolds Charlie and Jacks for “staying out too late” (taking up and finishing a job)
Andrea does not realize her scary dog privileges and it is the funniest thing,, if anyone gives them trouble then it’s Charlie and Jacks that need to stop her
Andrea sometimes talks to Jacks in Spanish to annoy Charlie because he isn’t exactly fluent yet (theyre working on teaching him ;] )
Charlie and Andrea take breaks on the couch just lying down together after all the farm work for the day is done
Andrea doesn’t bring it up much, but she sometimes worries about Charlie. She tells him a lot about how she’ll always be by his side
Charlie relies on Andrea to help keep him grounded. Andrea helps Charlie remember what life was like with his mom, and what life was like before the Louisiana Slaughterer
“I’m telling you for the last time, don’t sneak back in the house at 2:00!” Andrea scolded, gently smacking Charlie on the forehead with a rolled up newspaper.
“OW! Hey, I already said sorry, quit it!” Charlie squeaked, crossing his arms and giving Andrea a halfhearted glare.
“I swear, you’ll drive me crazy one of these days with the way you stay out this late. Promise me you’ll come home earlier, got it?” Andrea sternly spoke, tapping her foot.
“Yes, ma’am..” Charlie replied with a sigh.
“Alright, now c’mere,” Andrea grabbed Charlie’s wrist, dragging him upstairs. “I can handle the work for today. YOU on the other hand, need sleep now. Get back to your room, you’re not going anywhere today.” Despite her harsh words, the sincerity and care bled through her tone.

A Warmth That Didn’t Burn

The night was heavy with laughter and snacks as the circus slowly died down for the night. The tacky smell of popcorn and cheap refreshments blended into the heat of dusk whilst visitors left the tents and headed home. You however, stayed back at the bleachers in the tent, watching as workers hustled about and put away various props, cleaning up what remained of the acts performed.
after a moment of waiting, you got up and made your way to the back of the tent, to the trailers of the traveling circus. A small handful of quizzical looks from passerby were exchanged, but you continued nonetheless. There were places you were to be. You glanced over at a trailer, giving a small tap to the door. A small bit of shuffling was heard from the other end as Tisler opened his door, smiling as he saw you.
“It’s you! Hey there, kiddo!” Tisler laughed, ruffling your hair.
“You have got to stop calling people that, you called an old man from the crowd kiddo!” Yelled another clown from the distance, eavesdropping. Tisler rolled his eyes, shouting a few unsavory words in retaliation, before stepping back and gesturing for you to step inside, walking back in the trailer.
“Y’know, next time you don’t need to pay for a ticket. Next show’s gonna be on me! Just tell the guy at the front the main man said so, alright?” Tisler ruffled your hair and jokingly wrapped an arm around you. “Ya know, it’s always a good thing whenever you drop by. Things don’t often get boring, but even when it’s fun, ya spice it up. You’re cool to be around, kiddo.”
Tisler hugged you tightly, patting your back. “Visit any time, alright? We’re waiting on you out here.” He walked with you, sitting down and leaning against a wall, still holding his arms around you. Tisler took a moment to feel in the moment, taking a deep breath and sighing.
His past was bloodstained from the start, even before his life in the circus. Things only got fun after he discovered the pleasure of setting things alight. However, Tisler found himself enjoying your presence.
Tisler felt warm. Not the heat of pleasure he got from burning victims alive, or in the same sense as those corny romcoms that he’d heard of. Instead, it was more akin to coming home after a long night out, and staying with family. While his parents were not the most sentimental nor caring in such a way, staying by you felt truer than his blood related family.
As the sweltering heat of the night and the burning entertainment of the carnival slowly died down for the night, Tisler stayed by you, wrapped up in this warmth. It didn’t burn nor rouse him. It wasn’t too low, or boring. It was a comfortable mild, that wrapped him up in a blanket. And for that, Tisler was forever grateful for you.

a displaced crew mate who ended up on the Skeld by pure accident—due to a scheduling mishap and reluctance to admit their mistake, Lavender is the unofficial copilot on the Skeld.
Lavender is Purple’s displaced stranger cousin, who only became a pilot in the first place to search for their family. After the reactor meltdown with Red and Purple, Lavender’s family scattered like sticks in the wind by the fallout, leaving them entirely alone.

I want to emphasize during the everybody-is-high-on-oxygen-deprivation scene, LAVENDER WAS NOT THERE WITH THE REST OF THE CREW THEY WERE HAVING AN EMOTIONAL BREAKDOWN AT NAV this will be important to their lore trust.

Okay, so we all know that scene where Orange and Green were originally infected,, but how come there was only one hatchling?
It’s likely only ONE crew mate was actually infected here. This leads my to my crackpipe theory that’s somewhat plausible,, let me cook here:
Mira HQ purposefully sent an impostor aboard the Skeld—and that impostor was likely Orange.
I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out here. Mira HQ was already aware of the aliens, they were literally shipping
ORE PLUS EGGS (ore + eggs)
But why would they send an impostor on board? First, step back and think:
Why not send an impostor on board? Look at the crew from Mira’s point of view.
Red isnt exactly a good leader, theyre a coward that once caused a large scale nuclear meltdown
Purple openly wanted to expose Mira HQ for negligence and was also on site for the nuclear meltdown
Green was an unpaid intern with little work experience and a poor background
Black was a geologist with zero interest in researching, studying or inspecting the “valuable ore”
Cyan was a GEMologist who got their job from a budget cut
Yellow and Brown unionized and leaned rebellious against Mira HQ policies
Lime was “unambiguous” and a major conspiracy theorist, a total nut job
White did not work for Mira HQ and only lucked their way into a trip on the Skeld
Hell, even Blue needed to run an entire test to find White’s cause of death and even if they were actually dead! There’s nothing on that printout besides a skull.
All of these crew mates could be seen as weak links or liabilities from a professional Mira HQ standpoint. Paired with how Mira HQ has made it incredibly obvious they do NOT care about their employees, it stands reasonable they would leave them with something as dangerous as the impostor eggs.
This next part is a bit of a stretch, but I also think it can be reasoned that Orange is the impostor Mira sent on board—and Green happened to be an unaccounted for accident.
my main perspective for Mira HQ’s motive for sending an impostor would be to weed out and sift for loyal employees who could handle injury or even death by their policies.
Notice how Orange, even to their death, put emphasis on Mira’s rules?
“Fun reminder: per Mira you are required to take a group vote before ejecting any crew mates into the endless abyss of space. I can’t authorize my death until I hear a vote!”
isn’t it strange Mira HQ had rules for BASICALLY EXECUTING a crew mate in the first place? That death had to be AUTHORIZED?
It’s almost like they were preparing their employees for such a task because impostors could become more common as Mira experimented with them. (Because it’s also thought that Impostors take many thoughts and traits of the crew mate they possess, it could also stand to reason that exemplary employees, like Orange, could become infected impostor prefects that specifically uphold Mira HQ policy.)
and so, Orange could have been sent by Mira HQ to weed out any less-than-ideal employees. That could also be a reason why Green claimed they were too stupid as a teammate. Although the impostors worked together, Orange was generally the lesser of the two. Because Orange wasn’t killing like how a usual impostor would, they were killing as Mira HQ wanted them to.
Notice that their only kill, Lime (rip my goat), acted less than professional, and even crafted a weapon!
Orange also didn’t panic or react when the crew caught them in the act, they instead listened to Red, who also went exactly by the book!
“Rule no.5, soften tough blows with a crew wide pizza party?” / “How about some pizza to celebrate your not-death?”
now, compare this to Green, who sabotaged O2 once Orange was gone, who went for the jugular, who was generally more aggressive towards the cast. It would make sense that Green wouldn’t care about Mira policy, because they were a new hatchling who only recently Infected a crew mate!
this also adds up with how quickly the events unfolded. When Orange and Green tumbled out from behind the boxes, Orange was able to quickly answer Blue’s question about the rest of the trust balls and help seal the hole in Episode 1. At the same time, Green stayed incapacitated behind the boxes. During this window of time, Green was likely infected by the hatchling, and was adjusting to the new change.

TLDR: Orange was sent by Mira HQ to kill bad employees and teach the good ones how to deal with impostors, who would become more frequent as Mira experiments with their eggs.
