I'm hoping today to get an item checked off my to do list that has been there forever. Getting my table cleared off, buying wingnuts and putting the leaf back in (what is the proper way to say that?). It's been sitting on floor forever now and with liam getting into more and more stuff I just want a space that I feel comfortable with him moving around in. One tired mom

I must say it has been an extremely busy day for me. Liam didn't sleep very well last night and was up every couple of hours. I was looking forward to getting up and working on my planner. I wanted to sit down and look at my affiliate site to see of any potential work opportunities and also get a head start on my blog post for tomorrow. That is not at all what happened, we woke up and I got us breakfast ready. We played for a few hours and I laid him down for a nap. When I sat on the couch to look at my emails ended up falling asleep out of exhaustion. Liam only napped for half an hour, we left the house shortly after he woke and of course went to buy me a london fog from old smokes. I enjoy these car rides there as it gives me a chance to sit and relax without Liam needing to be held. After we went to Safeway and bought ourselves a turkey and swiss panini which we took to the park to eat. Liam watched the children at the splash and was very excited. I took him up to the water so he could dip his hands in the water spraying out of the fountains.. he was not a fan of the cold water. I brought him back to the stroller to try and leave, but instead he started screaming. I guess he was not ready to go. I placed him on the ground and watched him play in the green blades of grass expecting him to crawl away instead he just sat there pulling at the ground beneath him. we headed back towards the car, i tucked him in his car seat and packed away the stroller and headed back home. I put him down for another nap, tried to tidy up around the house but he only slept for another half hour. I managed to feed us left overs from browns I had ordered the night before, we also had a kiwi together and fed him some pea puree. We then went to my mothers house, we visited with my brother and asked how his first day at his new job went. My other brother dropped by to bring back the lawn mower and I was able to visit with my nephew and my brothers girlfriend. They went home and my boyfriend showed up a few hours later, I ordered us some food. I ate and headed back home. Liam unfortunatly napped in the car and stayed up until 1030pm, but went to bed easily.... so fingers crossed for a restful night with plenty of sleep.

How hobbies saved my mental health

My son was born almost 10 months ago now and I have been on mat leave for almost 11 months now. I was working in health care and due to the long hours found myself exhausted and unable to complete my job fully on a daily basis. I felt like I was letting everyone down at work and constantly short staffed it was extremely difficult on my mental health. I was induced two weeks early and had a beautiful boy, I could not be anymore excited. Soon after he had become extremely colicky he would scream from the moment he woke up until he fell asleep. Without me realizing my mental health was deteriorating, I found myself becoming easily frustrated and agitated. I wanted to enjoy these moments with my newborn so much, it was everything I envisioned when I was pregnant. Holding him close, hearing those cute little baby cries. Nope that was not the case for my little guy. He SCREAMED, not cried. I found myself trying to structure myself and him into this awful routine because that is what all the baby books had told me to do. I would go to bed with and get up with him. To panicked to leave him in the bedroom on his own. It wasn't until he was about 4 months old when I was finally able to let go of this fear. Why was I so worried, we have a wonderful baby monitor that detects motion and a baby camera. I decided I wanted to get back into hobbies unsure of what I wanted I decided to give stop motion a try. It looks easy I can do this... as fun as it is, its extremely time consuming. My and my younger brother created a video of a little kinder surprise toy pushing a ball, that was my first try at it. It was fun and he enjoyed it. It made me realize that I was missing the parts of me that enjoyed doing things for myself. I have been taking care of this little human for months now and not once has he left my side. So I put him to bed one night, set the sensor on the monitor and left the room. I took out an old puzzle from the closet that was given to me years ago as a birthday present and started piecing it together. I created an Instagram account dedicated to it and for the first time in months I finally found myself at piece. I spent hours that night awake completing this puzzle. I was extremely tired the next morning, how ever very excited for the next night.

It's so hot out today, to hot to cook. The family decided to go to Costco for a poutine. Everytime I'm standing there waiting for my food it always reminds of the time I ordered a pizza. I was standing there waiting for what seemed like ages for a single cheese pizza when the women behind the counter handed me a box of warm cheesy goodness. Then this lady comes out of nowhere looks at me and says "Is that a cheese pizza? I have been waiting longer then you have." Then proceeds to take the box from my hands and walks away. To this day I am still speechless 🙊

Working from the floor

Its a scorching heat outside today so I have decided to sit on the floor with the baby to get some work done. It is the only place with AC in my apartment, lets just say I am not thriving in this weather.

I am working on my blog and trying to get the layout for my planner finished for next month. Attempting to get keyword research finished however its not really going in my favor because I can't stay focused. I just want to sit here and watch parks and rec.

The only thing making my keyword research easy is rankiq. just type keyword phrase your looking for and it does all of the work for you.

Road trip with a 4 month old

Taking a baby on a road trip can be very challenging if you have never gone on a long trip. Here is tip one of 13.

Me and my partner have always had a passion for travel. Before Covid we would go on a lot of road trips. We live in northern Canada so for us the next big city we have is about a 4-5 hour drive away. About once or twice a month we would spontaneously decide to pack our bags and hit the road. Then Covid happened and it put an abrupt end to a lot of our travel. As many people would agree this was a huge disappointment, with recommendations to stay at home and limit contact I was going stir crazy. It was a little over a year into Covid when I found out I was pregnant, we were so excited! Once baby was born the government was finally starting to lift restrictions and we were able to travel again. We decided to go on our first trip since having baby. I made a list of things I thought I would need and planned to leave first thing in the morning. We woke up bright and early and tried to head out the door as quick as we could, hoping we could make it most of the way with Liam sleeping in the car. However life had other plans and quickly realized my list and plans were missing a few needed items. A 4-5 hour drive took about 6.5 hours, we had quite a few stops along the way. Looking back now I wish I would have taken the time to look for ideas for taking a newborn on the road. I created a list for anyone interested in finally getting out and seeing the world once again.

Bought a happy planner yesterday amd created next week's spread. Going to enjoy this hobby, the endless ideas just keep going through my head.
