Thinking about Dennis taking care of TransMasc!Audhd!Reader on their period.
Warnings: talk of periods and the like, disphoria mention
A/n: wrote these real quick after a shower cause I'm cramping and needed the comfort. Anyways enjoy and remember to hydrate or diedrate.
Dennis tracking their period for them because he noticed they don't. But it's only so he can have things ready for them before it hits so they aren't panicking when it does. (doesn't trust the tracking apps so he just uses his calendar app)
He's also gotten good at tracking it based on mood and activity because he knows sometimes when taking hrt, periods can become super irregular.
Dennis keeps an eye out for when their easily overstimulated, pulling back from conversations more, easily irritated, flinching away from skin contact. He's knows all the signs and is prepared
When he notices it's close based on timeline or symptoms he gives a gentle warning. Just a little "hey it's coming but don't worry everything is set up and ready."
He doesn't draw attention to it. He just acts like it's completely normal to have their heating pad plugged in and resting on their side of the bed, or the pad/tampon tucked behind on of the many bottles on bathroom counter so they don't have to search for it when they need it.
Dennis having the fridge and freezer stocked with their favorite snacks and ice cream, while also making sure there's still some healthy foods that they like.
If they bleed through or don't catch it before they stain clothes, Dennis just gathers up all the stained clothes and throws them in the wash (making sure to treat the stains beforehand)
He's aware of how much disphoria their period causes them so he tries to make it as easy as he can.
Dennis keeps an eye on how many pads/tampons they have left and makes sure to buy more before they have a chance to worry about running out.
If they want cuddles and a movie or show, he's there rubbing their back over their shirt or playing with their hair. If they want to be left alone, he's never far, giving them space but still close enough that if they need him they don't have to wait to long for him to show up.
Dennis is just on top of everything. Reassuring them that just because they have a period doesn't change what their gender is. He doesn't spout information about how they could get xyz medical treatment to stop them.
He's just there in what ever way they need him to be.

So I have a couple fic ideas other than the request I'm working on. And I want to gauge what people want, so we're gonna do a poll.
Gonna list the general ideas under the cut and then add the poll. I will likely end up writing all of them cause I'm really grooving with The Pitt and truly love these ideas, I just want to get a feel for what people want first.
1. Dennis Whitaker x trans masc/nonbinary reader - Y/n and Dennis were childhood friends turned highschool sweethearts but a few weeks before college Y/n left Broken Bow with out a word. Fast forward to Dennis working in the Pitt and a patient is rolled in who looks vaguely familiar, he quickly finds out the patient is Y/n and the reason they ran away was because their family disowned them when they came out and they were unsure of how Dennis would take the news of them being Trans and so they left. Angst to fluff
2. Dennis Whitaker x sole guardian! Reader - Y/n and Dennis have been casually dating for a couple months but Y/n is hiding something. They are the sole guardian of their sister's two kids. On one of Y/n's days off on of the kids gets hurt so they bring them to the ED, forgetting that no one except Dana and Robby know about the situation. Santos spots reader with two kids and drops a 'yo huckleberry, didn't know Y/n had kids' and Dennis just confused. Dennis goes to the room they're in and is just like 'when were you going to tell me you have kids' and y/n is surprised but quickly recovers explaining everything. Tension to fluff <- loosely (heavily) based on the fact that I recently became temporary guardian of my niece and nephew
3. Part 2 to Migraine Cocktail, Frank and Y/n go out on a date a few weeks after the migraine and decide to start dating, fast forward to the fourth of July Y/n goes to pickup Frank from his first shift back at the ED and Robby finds out that their now dating and doesn't take the info well especially since they weren't planning on telling him until after he got back (if he got back) from sabbatical. ┐( ∵ )┌ angst mixed with fluff probably
4. Jack Abbot x Reader - based on the song Honesty (write me a list) by Rodney Atkins. Tension is high and they're on the verge of divorce so they sit down at a diner one morning to discuss what they each get. Jack is shocked when all Y/n wants is to actually work things out because their relationship isn't actually that far gone they just need to communicate better. angst to fluffish
Summary: A Migraine and a best friend lead to a mini argument in the PTMC Emergency Department.
Warnings: Migraines, vomiting, probably ooc Frank and Robby, heavily influenced by my own experience with migraines, Frank's wife and kids do not exist here, Robby is his own warning in my book
A/n: Hello everyone. I know no one was really expecting this but I am sorry it took so long to write another Pitt fic. Anyways I hope you enjoy and as always remember to hydrate or diedrate.
Migraines are nothing new to me. I've had them ever since I was a teenager. And you would think having a doctor for a father would mean figuring out the cause would have happened fairly soon after realizing they were a regular thing. Unfortunately, you would be wrong. Well maybe if my father wasn't the current chief of emergency medicine at PTMC. Sure my migraines started before he got that position, but he was never the best at listening to me.
I had tried multiple times to get his help to figure out the migraines, but eventually gave up after turning 18. With the help of my primary care doctor I was able to figure out that for the most part the migraines didn't really have a trigger. Things like not drinking enough water, not eating enough, or stress could make them worse but they were for the most part completely random with no clear cause. So, I started taking an as needed migraine medication that worked most of the time.
Unfortunately for me, this was one of the times where it did nothing.
The migraine hit shortly after I got out of bed for the day. Like always I took my meds, before laying down on my couch and calling in for work since one of the side effects is drowsiness. Closing my eyes, I thanked my self for keeping the curtains closed, and hoped I could fall asleep before the migraine had a chance to really hit.
Probably four hours later I woke up with one of the worst migraines I've had in years. The faint sound of traffic outside my window felt like a hammer to my head and barely there light seeping through the curtains made my eyes burn.
Seeing that it was around 10am I texted my dad hoping for some advice, since he's a doctor and all.
After that not so helpful conversation, I decided to just try and sleep some more hoping the pain would eventually go away.
When the light peaking through the blinds at noon became to much, I did my best to find a dark place to get some relief. The only place I could find that had absolutely no light and could be made comfortable quickly, was the floor of my walk in closet. I struggled through the pain for only a few minutes grabbing a blanket and pillow from my bed before curling up in the window less room with the door closed.
Eventually sleep did reach me and I managed to get a few more hours of sleep before waking up again. This time the pain felt closer to nails in my head, and a slight nausea had set in. Normally the pain in my head wouldn't be that annoying, but the fact my meds hadn't touched it and now I felt sick to my stomach, I could get anymore rest.
It took me a minute to come up with a plan and decided to text the one person I knew was free. My best friend, and the person who always knows how to comfort me, Frank Langdon. I knew he wouldn't be at work since he was still on leave after going to rehab, but he has been out for couple months now so he should be available to help. Plus with him also being a doctor he would be better suited to help calm my nerves about the sick feeling than any of my other friends.
After reading Frank's texts I sighed before turning my phone off. Of course he would come over even though he didn't have to. Knowing him was probably going to worry about me until he could visibly see that I was okay rather than just take my word for it, even if I did feel like my brain was trying to turn itself inside out.
p.o.v to Langdon
When Frank arrived at Y/n's apartment he quickly unlocked the door before gently closing it. He noticed right away that all the lights where turned off. It made sense sine he knew Y/n had a bad migraine, so he made his way through the apartment quietly using only the light from his phone screen to see where he was going.
After quietly opening the door to Y/n's closet, he quickly spotted them barely awake with a grimace in the darkness. "Hey sweet heart." He said quietly as he moved to sit on the floor next to them. "still bad huh?" He only received a small nod in return.
Once he got comfortable on the floor, Frank motioned for Y/n to rest their head in his lap. "Just relax, I know it's difficult but sleep should help. And when you wake up I have some sprite and crackers for you to try eating. okay?"
Y/n nodded before laying their head on Frank's leg. Like every other time they've rested in Frank's lap, he began gently running his fingers through his hair knowing it would help them relax. It wasn't long before Y/n fell asleep.
P.o.v back to Y/n
When I woke up the first thing I noticed was the horrible rush of nausea that hit, followed quickly by bile rising in my throat. Not registering anything else I jumped rushing to the bathroom.
After a moment of emptying my stomach in to the toilet, I finally noticed the other person in the room. While I was distracted Frank had followed me into the bathroom. He had grabbed a glass filling it with water, and then began rubbing slow circles on my back.
"How are you feeling?" Frank asked as I leaned against the wall, hopefully done throwing up.
Shaking my head with my eyes closed, I sighed. "My head feels like it got run through a blender and now my throat hurts along with the nausea." I said quietly.
I heard as Frank sighed. "You really should go get seen. At the very least you can get something for the nausea and some stronger meds for the migraine." He tried to convince me.
"I don't want to deal with my dad. Plus it's nothing I haven't experienced before, I'll be fine with some more rest." I brushed him off.
"From what you've told me, you never throw up because of your migraines. Also it's almost midnight, your dad probably isn't even in the ED anymore." He asked handing me the glass of water. "Would you please go? I'll even go with you, I know how much you don't like going to the hospital in general."
Taking a sip of water, I thought about it. It did make sense to get seen cause this is probably the worst migraine I've had in years. Plus Frank was right my dad likely wouldn't be at work since he never pulled doubles so if it was a slower night I could get in and seen before he even thought about coming in for his shift.
"Fine, I'll go. Are you sure you want to go with me? You haven't really been to the Pitt since you got out of rehab?" I asked knowing it would probably be awkward for him after the last couple months he's been away.
Frank shook his head as he offer his hand to help me stand up. "It will be fine. I'm going to be there for you, not for anything else. Now come on let's get you ready to go."
Once I was standing, Frank helped me pull on a hoodie before grabbing my wallet and phone putting them in his pockets. As we head for the door of my apartment I paused before grabbing my sun glasses.
"The street lights are going to be bright, plus you know how bad the lights are in the ED." I said, earning a nod in understanding as Frank locked up my apartment.
When we arrived at PTMC's ED, it didn't take long to be brought to the back. Not only did it help that everyone knew me, seeing as I'm the Chief of Emergency medicine's kid, but it seemed to be a rather calm night. There were a couple questions as to why I waited or why Frank was with me but we both just brushed it off as we had been hanging out and the migraine just got bad enough to go.
Sitting on the hospital bed waiting for the inevitable interrogation from the night shift, I sighed. "You know Frank, you didn't have to come back with me. I would have been fine if you just dropped me off." I told him as he turned the lights down in the room so I could take of my sunglasses.
"I know. But I wanted to. What kind of best friend would I be if I let you face Shen's jokes and coffee slurping on your own in your current state." He said moving to sit in the plastic chair close to the bed.
I nodded before leaning back and closing my eyes hoping I could go home soon and preferably long before my dad came in for day shift. I did not need him seeing me in the ED or seeing that Frank had accompanied me.
It wasn't long before the door to the room opened with a quiet but firm knock. When the door opened I was greeted by my dad's best friend, Dr. Jack Abbot.
"What brings you in tonight Y/n?" He asked, offering a nod towards Langdon before focusing on me.
I silently thanked the universe for Dr. Abbot not questioning why Frank was with me. "I've had a migraine all day and my normal meds didn't do anything." I said keeping it simple.
Dr. Abbot nodded as he looked at my chart. "Any other symptoms? Nausea? Vomiting?" He asked moving to check my pupils.
"Uh, yeah. I've been nauseous most of the day." I said leaving out the part about me me puking, knowing it would mean more tests and a longer ED stay.
Before Dr. Abbot could speak again, Frank spoke up. "They also threw up about an hour or so ago. It's why I brought them in." He explained, earning a raised brow from Dr. Abbot and a glare form me.
"Well, I'll order you some Zofran for the nausea. We'll also draw some blood and get you a head CT just to be sure it's nothing serious." Dr. Abbot said entering the orders in to the chart. "Have you told Robby you're here?"
I turned to face away from him. "No he wouldn't care anyway." I said arms crossed over my chest, admittedly looking like a pouting child. "I texted him when I realized my meds weren't working and he told me to just sleep it off and that he was busy." I explained before Dr. Abbot could question me any further.
I noticed Frank nodding agreement and assumed Dr. Abbot had silently asked if that was the truth. "Okay then, Mateo will be in to take care of the blood work. Get some rest, I'll be back after the tests are done." He said moving towards the door.
"Please don't tell my dad I'm here. I don't want to deal with him right now." I asked as he stepped out of the room, glancing briefly at Frank. Not that my dad didn't know I was still close to Frank, just I didn't trust him not to start something with the brunette.
Dr. Abbot nodded . "Don't worry I won't." He said closing the door as he left the room.
It didn't take long for the blood work and CT results to come back, and as suspected there was no obvious reason for the migraine. The treatment plan was the same as every other migraine that landed me in the ED, an IV with heavy duty pain meds commonly refereed to as a headache cocktail.
P.o.v change
Like every other time Y/n had received the IV meds, they fell asleep pretty quickly. Frank, being the good friend he is, leaned back in the shitty plastic chair and settled in for the slightly uncomfortable night ahead. Eventually Frank also dozed off in the dark quiet hospital room.
Around 6:30 am Robby entered the ED, not expecting anything other than a busy lobby and rooms full of boarders waiting to be moved upstairs. What he didn't expect to see is his kid's name on the board above central.
"Abbot, Why does the board say Y/n is in central 7?" Robby asked as his fellow attending walked up the nurse's station.
Abbot shrugged. "They had a bad migraine and their normal routine wasn't helping." He said like it was obvious from the description of symptoms on the board.
The taller man rolled his eyes. "Okay and why didn't you tell me my kid was in the ED?" He asked confused why his best friend would keep this information from him.
"Because they asked me not to. Feel free to check on them but last time I passed by they were fast asleep, so maybe hold off for a bit." Abbot said finishing some charts before getting ready for hand over.
Robby pause for a second feeling like there was something else Jack hadn't told him. Ultimately he decided to see for himself that Y/n was okay and head for central 7.
With the lights off in the room all Robby could make out from the door was Y/n sound asleep in the bed with the IV still in their arm, even though the medicine had long since finished flowing in to their system. Not expecting any surprises, Robby gently pushed the door open just to double check that Y/n really was okay.
Once he had the door open and light from the rest of ED was able to flow in, Robby was shocked to see another person in the room with his kid. "What the Fuck are you doing here Langdon?" He asked rather loudly, only feeling slightly bad when Y/n grumbled in their sleep, but recovered focusing on the suspended doctor blinking awake next to the hospital bed.
"Robby?" Frank asked, brushing the sleep from his eyes.
"Answer the question Frank. What are you doing here?" Robby snapped only lowering his voice slightly.
Frank sighed, having expected this kind of reaction if they didn't manage to get out of the ED before Robby got to work. "I'm here with my friend because they had such a bad migraine they threw up and their dad brushed them off like it wasn't important." Frank said, not holding back the irritation in his voice while confronting his former boss.
Robby rolled his eyes. "I didn't brush them off. I was busy with work." Robby defended. "But either way why would they ask you for help? Y/n shouldn't have anything do with you." He said not caring to hide his anger towards his former resident.
"That's not your choice to make. Y/n can choose who they want to have around. And they asked me to help because they knew I was available to help them." Frank argued. "Unlike you, I dropped everything I was doing to be their for them while they felt like someone was driving nails into their head."
It was clear that Robby was growing annoyed. "I can't drop everything for a little headache. I have to be here to deal with actual emergencies." He snapped, mostly because being around Frank still irritated him.
"Their 'little headache' caused them to throw up. Had I not been there for them, Y/n would probably still be vomiting or curled up in a ball on their closet floor struggling for relief." Frank snapped back. "This migraine could of been a symptom of something worse, luckily for them it wasn't but we wouldn't have known for sure had I not shown up for them. If anything you should be thankful that I care about them enough to convince them to get seen."
Before Robby could respond, the tense silence that had covered the room after Frank's put burst was broken. From the bed, Y/n let out a quiet grumble as they began to wake up catching both men's attention.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" Robby asked ignoring the way Frank seemed to shift his chair closer to the side of the bed.
P.o.V change
After rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I was shocked by the sight before me. Frank sitting impossibly close to my hospital bed looking more worried about me than the back pain he was sure to experience form the shitty plastic ED chairs; and my dad standing on my other side looking slightly concerned for me while trying to cover the obvious irritation lingering in his eyes. I was honestly surprised they weren't actively arguing knowing how the last conversation between them went.
"I'm doing better than I was earlier. No more nails in the back of my head." I said with a slight sigh as started to sit up, Frank moving to adjust the head of the bed to help me. "Thanks Frank. Anyways am I clear to leave?" I asked turning to look at my dad.
He just shrugged. "Don't know I'm not your doctor, but I'll send Jack in." He said moving towards the door. "And I'm glad you're feeling better. You should really go home and rest some more, don't want the migraine to come back." Robby said as he opened the door, shooting a glare towards Frank before closing it behind him.
I turned to look at Frank. "You guys were fighting before I woke up weren't you?" I asked knowing the answer based on the way he shrugged.
"Hey, Robby started it." He responded, putting his hands up in mock surrender.
I just shook my head holding back a laugh. If this was what happened when Frank brought me to the ED as a concerned friend then how will he react when he finds out that I wish me and Frank were more than just friends.
I got back home with my niblings a few days ago and have been working on getting them settled in. Today I have to do laundry and a couple other adulty things but I promise I will be working on my requests in my free time. Thank you for your patience and remember to hydrate or diedrate.
Unfortunately I have to step back once again. I was in the groove, I have a half written Langdon x reader fic and plans for a Atla fic that was requested, but unfortunately I won't be able to work on them for a while. I have to go save my sister's kids from her and it's a day and half drive. I'll try to get back to everything soon.
Thank you everyone for the follows. I know I'm not the most active and post once in a blue moon but truly I'm thankful. If anyone has any fun ideas for a 500 follower celebration let me know.
Summary: No one being aware that Whitaker is married until his partner is brought in after a car accident and he freezes when called over to help on the trauma
Warning: Medical inaccuracies, mentions of blood, possibly ooc characters, reader called Mx. because it's a gender neutral version of Mr./Mrs., not proof read

A/n: Hello, Thank you to everyone who showed interest when i posted my idea a few days ago. I really liked this idea and I'm glad other people seem interested. Anyways enjoy and remember to hydrate or diedrate.
You and Dennis had gotten married shortly before leaving your hometown of Broken Bow. It wasn't anything expensive or fancy, just you two and both of your guys' parents at the court house. Since Dennis was going to med school you both figured it'd be best to hold off on a big wedding until he had gotten established as a doctor and your were stable in your career.
As a sort of congratulations gift for getting a student doctor position at PTMC, you gave Dennis a simple silver chain for him to put his wedding ring on while he works. He had expressed a few times that he didn't want to risk losing it at work, so you figured it was a great idea. He, of course, agreed and started using it on his first day.
An unexpected effect of the gift however was that none of his coworkers were aware that he was married. Sure they had all heard him talk about you, but they just assumed you were a roommate or friend. And sweet, sweet Dennis didn't even think to tell them that he was married. It never seemed important to work and no one ever asked.
It wasn't until shortly after he reached the first year mark of his residency that he thought it was time to introduce his coworkers to his spouse. You had both talked about it and decided that with both of your careers being stable, and with the money you had slowly been saving up it was time to start planning a real wedding. Not that you didn't think your court house wedding was real, but you both wanted a decent sized wedding where more than just your parents could attend. And a big part of the conversation was about inviting Dennis' coworkers since they were some of his closest friends and had become like a second family to him.
But before he just randomly invited his friends to his second wedding, he wanted them to actually meet the person who stole his heart years ago in Broken Bow. So the plan was you would be joining him when he went for the day shift's monthly hang out away form the hospital. He was mostly prepared for the questions that would come from the sudden news but it was worth it. Bring the two most important parts of his life together was worth the teasing he was going to receive from Trinity for weeks after.
The get together was planned for the next weekend most of the day shift had off. It was rare but it was fast approaching, and Dennis could barley focus on charting thinking about what was going to happen.
He was pulled from his thoughts when Trinity slide across the counter of the Nurse's station. "What you thinking about Huckleberry?" She asked in her usual teasing tone.
"Uh, nothing. Just can't wait for this weekend." He said closing out the patient chart he had barely managed to finish while lost in thought.
Trinity nodded along. "What's so special about this weekend? It's just the normal hangout." She said, before a smile spread across her face. "Wait are you finally going to introduce us to your elusive roommate?" She had that smile she got when presented with an interesting case, like there was a new mystery to solve, except this time it was just Whitaker's alleged roommate.
Dennis rolled his eyes slightly at you being referred to as his 'roommate' bit didn't say anything about it yet. "Yeah, actually. Their my closest friend and I think they'll really like you guys." It wasn't entirely a lie. You were his closet friend, having grown up together before eventually falling in love.
"Oh, that's cool." Trinity said hiding her smirk. She's had assumptions for a while that his roommate was more than that, but before she could prod for more information she was interrupted by paramedics rushing into the ER.
"Santos, Whitaker." Doctor Robby called the two Residents as he approached the paramedics. "What do we got?" He asked, not noticing how Dennis froze mid step only a few feet from the moving gurney.
"Y/n Whitaker, 26 year old, restrained driver, auto vs. auto. They were awake and alert when we got scene, but lost consciousness on the way. Bp 90/60, satting at 98 on 2 liters, multiple lacerations to face and arms, possible tib-fib fracture on left side." The medic said as they moved into Trauma 1.
It wasn't until they started to transfer the patient from the gurney, that anyone realized what the medic had said.
"Wait, did you just say Whitaker?" Trinity asked the medic, thinking she misheard him.
The medic just nodded before leaving with his partner. Connecting the dots, she, and the rest of the staff in the trauma room, looked to where Dennis was last seen standing. Sure enough he was frozen in place, eyes focused on the unconscious patient, making no move to enter the room.
Nodding to Langdon, who had joined the group trusting him to take over, Robby moved to speak with Dennis. "Dennis, do you know them?" He asked nodding in the direction of the trauma bay.
Blinking quickly as if being awoken form a trance, Dennis nodded. "Uh yeah. They're my partner." He answered, pulling the chain tucked in his shirt out to fidget with his wedding ring. "We've been together since high school, and they've been my number one supporter since I decided to become a doctor." He started to ramble, not noticing the slightly surprised look that Robby and Dana shared over the young residents shoulder.
"Okay well then, I can't let you in there. Langdon and Santos will take great care of them, you just sit here or in the break room and take a breather. Okay?" Robby said placing a gentle hand on Dennis' shoulder. Sure he had more questions, but figured now wasn't the best time to press.
Dennis just nodded, still in shock from seeing you wheeled into the ER. With out much thought to it he chose to sit at the Nurse's station where he had a clear line of site to where his coworkers were making sure you were stable.
"Keep an eye on him. I'll pick up his cases, he's done for the day." Robby said to Dana as he headed to check on the rest of his residents.
The charge nurse nodded, going about her shift as usual but keeping a close eye on the fidgety doctor.
It wasn't long before Trinity and Langdon made their way out of the trauma room. Langdon stopped to tell Dana that you had been sent up to CT and X-ray. Trinity on the other hand made a B-line for Dennis.
"So you're married?" Trinity asked placing herself directly in front of Dennis to block his view of the trauma room. "Why didn't you say anything? I thought we were friends."
Dennis blinked. "How are they? Are they stable?" He began asking, completely ignoring Trinity's questions. When she didn't respond fast enough he stood up and approached Langdon. "Please tell me how they're doing." He asked the senior resident in a way that sounded more like a demand than anything.
"They're gonna be okay. They likely have a mild concussion and broken leg, with hand full of minor cuts and bruises." Langdon replied with a rare gentle smile. "They just went up for a head CT and X-ray to rule out anything else. Then we'll get them a room down here where they can rest and wait for either a room upstairs or discharge depending on the results." He explained knowing that even though he was also a doctor, Dennis probably need some reassurance that everything would be okay.
The young resident nodded. "Okay thank you." He said quietly.
"Since it's going to be a minute until they get back from their tests, spill Huckleberry." Trinity said, once again trying to get answers from her friend.
Sighing Dennis nodded, before sitting back down at the Nurse's station where a group of his coworkers had gathered. "Me and Y/n have been married since before we left Broken Bow. I never told anyone because none of you asked, and it wasn't important." He explained as he finally took his necklace off and moved his ring to his left hand, where it sat anytime he wasn't at work. "I was actually going to introduce them to y'all this weekend." He said looking towards his coworkers.
"Wait so why tell us now, if it was important enough to tell us before?" Victoria asked, having joined the group of medical workers currently surrounding Dennis.
"Ha, uh funny story actually. We decided that we're finally ready to hold a big ceremony, since our wedding back home was just at the local court house. And we wanted to invite everyone here." Dennis explained with a shrug, earning a few awes from a couple of the nurses. "It's be weird to invite y'all to a wedding if you had no clue who the other person was." He finished, spinning his ring on finger.
It was clear that everyone had questions, but now wasn't the right time so before questions could start flying, Dana spoke up. "Alright back to work all of you. Leave the poor kid alone, I'm sure he'll be happy to answer questions when you guys aren't saving lives." She said shooing the nurses and med students who had gathered for the story. "Whitaker, Y/n will be back down soon you can meet them in central 9. Langdon will stop by when the results come back." The older woman said point Dennis to the room they were sending you.
Only a few minutes after he had sat down in one of the uncomfortable chairs, you were brought in by couple nurses. He immediately jumped up to check on you, sighing in relief when he noticed you had woken up since you where brought in by the EMTs.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" He asked gently, reaching to hold your hand in his.
"Your friends hooked me up with the good drugs, I'm doing great." You said trying to get a laugh out of him. "But seriously I'm okay, Dennis."
Dennis couldn't help but chuckle slightly at your attempt to be silly even though you were in hospital bed. "Good. I was worried about you." He said trying to keep it simple, but he cracked seeing the knowing look in your eye. "Okay, I was super worried about you. When you came in you were unconscious and there was a lot of blood from this cut on your head." He said brushing his thumb under the now closed cut, that seemed so much bigger an hour ago.
"I know I'm a doctor and that head wounds bleed more, but my rational brain shut off I froze and couldn't help you when you needed me." Dennis rambled. "I was so out of it that Dr. Robby benched me for the day." He said pulling a chair over to sit close to you.
Squeezing his hand you smiled again. "Hey, it's okay to be worried. I'd be terrified if I was in your shoes. But I'm awake and doing fine. Your friends took great care of me, and now I can confidently say they better be at our wedding." You said earning a gentle laugh from your husband.
Before He could respond, there was a gentle knock at the door followed by Langdon walking in. "Hello, It's good to see you're awake. I'm Dr. Langdon, Whitaker has probably mentioned me before." He introduced with half joking smile, trying to keep the mood light. "Anyways, you got pretty luck this time Mx. Whitaker. As we suspected just a mild concussion and a clean break of your left tibia. We'll get your leg in a cast to help it heal but you shouldn't need surgery as long as you stay off it and use the crutches. And the concussion should heal with lots of rest." He explained while charting the plan for your care.
"You'll need some help at home, but lucky for you it seems one of the Pitt's finest will be available." Langdon said as he closed the computer. "I will be back shortly to cast your leg and then you should be good to go."
You and Dennis thanked his coworker as he left the two of you alone once again. "Wait I just realized something." You said after silence had fallen over the space. Dennis looked to you and tilted his head confused. "How are we supposed to get home? The car was totaled." You said looking super serious.
"I'm sure we can call an Uber. What I'm worried about is how I'm supposed to help you out at home if I have to work." Dennis said trying to figure out how he's supposed to work and take care of you.
Before he could think to hard about it, there was another knock at the door. "Hello, I'm Doctor Robinavitch, but everyone calls me Dr. Robby. I just wanted to talk to Dennis really quick." He said looking to your husband. Dennis moved to stand up, but Robby raised hi hand stopping the younger man. "It's nothing bad. I just wanted you to know that we have everything covered here so you can take the next two weeks to help Y/n around the house and recover. They should be your top priority right now."
"I uh. Thank you Dr. Robby. I greatly appreciate that." Dennis said slightly stunned at how he didn't even have to ask for the time off it was just given.
Robby nodded. "It's no problem. It was nice meeting you Y/n, get well soon." He said before turning to leave.
As Robby exited the room Langdon, two nurses and Trinity walked in.
"What are you doing here?" Dennis asked rolling his eyes at Trinity, knowing she was probably there to make jokes and not actually help with your care.
Trinity just smiled. "I'm here to meet my friend's spouse that he failed to mention, Huckleberry. Anyways, I'm Trinity Santos. Did you really marry this Huckleberry or are you just roommates?" She said turning her attention to you.
"Yes I really did marry Dennis." You said with a smile, having heard about how she has a habit of picking on Dennis in friendly almost sibling like manner. "We were actually hoping you want to be part of the wedding party for our do over big ceremony, if you're interested?" You asked, as Langdon started applying the cast to your leg.
"Wait really? Huckleberry, You want me to actually be a part of your wedding?" She asked, turning to Dennis, who just nodded and shrugged. "Yeah, Okay I'm cool with that." Trinity said trying to act like she wasn't super honored to be invited an important part of such a big occasion.
You all talked for a few minutes about how your plan for your re-do wedding would have to be postponed a little longer since you won't be able to work and will have to pull from savings, but that Trinity would defiantly be part of it. It wasn't long until Langdon said he was done applying your cast and that you were good to go.
Dennis ran to his locker and grabbed his change of street clothes he had, thanking whatever higher power that you wore the same size clothes, before helping you change out of the hospital gown you had been put in. After getting you dressed and ordering an uber, You and Dennis sat at the Nurse's station while you waited. Dennis spending the time trying to make sure that it was 100% okay that he takes two weeks off of work, and you meeting the rest of his coworkers as the passed by between patients.
Once the uber arrived and took you home, Dennis couldn't help but sigh in relief as he collapsed next to you on your shared bed.
"That was one hell of day." He said turning to look at you. "Seriously, I'm glad you're okay, I don't know what I would have done with out you."
You chuckled shimming across the bed to get closer to him. "Probably cry." You said leaning your head on his shoulder. "But you don't have to worry about that. I'm fine now and in few months we'll be able to finally have our big wedding."
"Yeah. you're right." He said placing a gentle kiss to your head. Sure, the day hadn't gone how he expected but when does it ever when you work in the ER. And hey now he doesn't have to worry about introducing you to his coworkers since they all met you through out the day.
So I have this Idea for a Whitaker x Reader fic and was wondering if anyone was interested. I'll probably write it either way just wanted to see if people would like it.
Summary: No one being aware that Whitaker is married until his spouse is brought in after a car accident and he freezes when called over to help on the trauma
Edit: thank you everyone for your interest I will start working on it tomorrow and possibly have it up by the end of day. I've seen one request to be tagged so if anyone else wants tagged let me know.
Fanfic Idea: Where Zuko and Reader had some sort of situationship when they were younger but both being young and still trying to figure out their emotions they jut decided to just stay as friends. But soon Zuko falls for reader again hoping now as they are both adults the can try again but Reader has been falling in love for Sokka.
So maybe Sokka asks advice from Zuko to help confess his feelings to Reader because of his fear of his past relationships. So instead of being bitter and wanting to see Reader and Sokka happy he lays down his feelings for Reader and decides to help Sokka out.
Some angst with Zuko and fluff for Sokka?

It was no secret that there was more to yours and Zuko's relationship then just being friends. The late night walks away from camp in the weeks leading up to the end of the war, to the letters, that weren't strictly work related, sent almost weekly after you left for the South Pole to help build connections between the Water tribe and the Fire Nation. Everyone believed that it would eventually turn into something more.
Unfortunately the distance became to much for the budding relationship, and you both agreed to just stay friends. The letters became less frequent and you shifted your attention to helping Sokka and the rest of the Southern Tribe.
At first Zuko was fine with how things played out. He knew that it was difficult to keep up with trying to grow a relationship while also rebuilding after a 100 year war. But slowly he began to miss the bond you shared.
It all hit him when Team Avatar reunited in Republic City for one of many celebrations held in their honor. He was overjoyed to see all his friends in one place again but he wasn't fully prepared to see you again. The last time Zuko saw you in person was around the time Republic City was first established. Every other time the group had come together you had been tied up with planning or negotiating and couldn't make, but you were free to night. And he was transfixed by how stunning you looked.
You had traded your old Fire Nation attire for the softer blues of the Water Tribe. He figured it had to do with the fact that all your time was spent in the south so you adjusted to not stand out as much. Which he couldn't fault you for, in fact he would be the first to admit that cool tones of the blue suited you better than the warm reds you grew up wearing.
Seeing you again after so long mixed with how amazing you looked, Zuko couldn't ignore the fact that he still held feelings for you. He began silently hyping himself up to admit his feelings and to ask you for another chance. But the universe had other plans.
"Heeeey Zuko,Buddy, Pal," Sokka said slinging his arm over the Fire Lord's shoulders. "Do you mind if I ask you something?" He asked not hinting to what he wanted to ask.
Zuko rolled his eyes expecting the inventor to have a dumb question that probably had a stupid answer. "Sure Sokka, but make it quick." He said, silently hoping it really was simple and quick so he could speak with you.
Sokka sigh as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders before speaking. "So I know you and Y/n used to be a thing or whatever." He began.
"We weren't a thing." Zuko interrupted not sure where this was going.
"Yeah, okay sure. Anyways my point is you probably know them better than anyone else." Sokka continued, not noticing how the Fire Lord tensed up next to him. "I was wondering if you had any advice on how I should ask them out?" The Water Tribe man asked, moving his arm off the fire bender awaiting his response.
Taking a moment to process the question, Zuko was stumped. While he valued his friendship the non bender, he couldn't help but feel like Sokka was trying to take something from him. Sure you were never truly his, but the feelings that had resurfaced only an hour before were making him believe maybe there was still a chance.
In the few seconds it took for Zuko to process, Sokka noticed how the fire bender looked at you across the crowd. He didn't need to be genius to realize what was going on in Zuko's head. "You know what never mind. I shouldn't have asked. I'll see you later Zuko." Sokka said pulling the fire bender from his thoughts.
Before Zuko could say anything, Sokka had slipped into the crowd. Sighing, Zuko decided it was time for him to actually speak to you. He had waiting all night and he figured it was better late than never.
He quickly approached where you stood talking with Toph. "Hey Y/n, Toph. It's great to see you guys again." He said hoping to sound casual, and that Toph wouldn't mention how his heart was racing.
"Oh Zuko, I was wondering when you were gonna talk to me." You said gently nudging his shoulder like you used to. "How have things been? Still have the same annoying advisors I assume?" You asked, genuinely curious about how things were going in your home country and with your oldest friend.
Zuko smiled and nodded. "Things have been fine. And yeah same advisors who can't stop rambling." He answered. "How are things in the Southern Water Tribe? I remember a few weeks ago some trade routes were approved." He said, not sure why he was sticking to professional topics. Maybe he was just nervous.
Before you could respond, Toph grumbled something about being bored and walked off with a wave. "See you later Toph. Anyways, yeah things are pretty stable down there. I've actually been able to have some real free time recently." You said, steering the conversation away from work. "There are some really cool things to do in the South since they've reconnected with the Northern Tribe. Last month Sokka took me to the Glacier Spirits Festival. It was so much fun, I wish you could have seen it."
Zuko couldn't help but notice the way your eyes seemed to shine a bit more when you mentioned Sokka. He couldn't explain it but something in him twisted at the sight. He tired to ignore it but he couldn't help but dig for more. "It sounds like it. So I'm guessing you've been spending a lot of time with Sokka?"
The smile that spread across your face at the mention of the Southern Warrior, told him everything he needed to know but he stayed silent, selfishly wanting to stay in your presence just a little longer.
"Of course I've been spending a lot of time with Sokka. His dad is the Chief and he has been a big help with adjusting to things in the water tribe. Plus he's fun to be around. You should see some of his inventions." You began to ramble. "He's trying to make a bike that can fly with out bending. It sounds crazy but so far it looks like it might actually work."
Hearing you go on about all the weird things Sokka has made or was planing to make, paired with the smile that had yet to leave your face confirmed to Zuko that maybe it was time to truly let go of the past. He could see how happy just being friends with Sokka made you and he knew that he couldn't stand in the way of any further happiness you might gain from exploring a deeper relationship with Sokka.
"Excuse me. I need to go talk to some one." Zuko said interrupting your tale of how you and Sokka almost got lost while out fishing a few months back.
You paused for a second. "Oh, Who do you need to talk to? Maybe I can help you find them?" You offered confused by the sudden change in Zuko's demeanor. Zuko just shook his head before walking off.
It didn't take long for Zuko to find Sokka standing on a balcony talking with Aang. "Hey Aang, Katara asked me to come find you. Something about Momo causing trouble at the buffet table." He said hoping the Avatar would believe him and leave him alone with Sokka.
Luckily, it had been a believable lie since Aang quickly excused himself running off to find the troublesome lemur. Unluckily, Sokka spoke first.
"What do you want Zuko? To tell me that you confessed your love to Y/n and now their going to be returning to the Fire Nation with you." He said not even looking at his friend, instead choosing to stare at the lights of Republic City while leaning on the rail of the balcony.
Zuko quickly shook the shock from his face at the accusation. "No Sokka. I came out here to tell you the best way for you to confess is to just be yourself." He began as he leaned on the railing next to Sokka. "I also wanted to apologize for earlier. I was to focused on what I wanted and didn't conceder that Y/n's feelings also mattered. After talking with them I can tell they really like you Sokka, and I don't want to get in the way of either of you being happy." He explained focusing his gaze on the city lights.
Hearing Zuko's apology and explanation, Sokka was shocked. "Wow, just wow. Thank you Zuko. I know you had or have feelings for them, but I appreciate what you're doing for us, for them." Sokka said turning to his friend. "No hard feelings right?" He finished holding his hand out.
Zuko turned, accepting Sokka's hand. "Yeah, no worries." He answered as Sokka pulled him into a friendly hug.
"Well, wish me luck. And thanks again Zuko." Sokka said before running off in search of you.
Zuko stayed outside for a few minutes after that. He was glad to have not ruined his friendship with Sokka and that he was giving you the chance to be happy even if it wasn't with him. He just needed a second before returning to the celebration.
I'm so happy with it. I love Frosch so much, but that's not the only reason I got him first. The reason is my dad has a tattoo of frog dressed like Tigger (a cat) and my mom has a tattoo of a tiara; I thought this picture of Frosch who is a cat dressed like a frog wearing a little crown was a great way to pay homage to both of them while still capturing my own silly nerd nature.
The reason I've haven't posted any of my ATLA fics that have been requested. I promise to start working on them on Friday cause I'm probably not going to be able to focus very well until then since this shit burns a bit.
Can I please request MTF!reader being in an established relationship and topping zuko or sokka (or both)
Thank youuuuu 💋💝
While I appreciate the request and I do write MTF, I only write fluff, angst and hurt to comfort. If you meant something different than NSFW, I'd be happy to hear it but based on how interpret this Im not comfortable writing it.
