Salsa class
I haven't posted anything is a really long time. That doesn't mean that I have not been active with trying to live an active life-style. Yes I have not worked out in a while but I have been active doing other things, new things. I started taking salsa classes and enjoyed them very much. I sweat and I get to dance. It's the best of both worlds for me.
Yep yep yep
Forgot to post these the other day. On the left is me at night, after a full day of eating and working out. I’m flexing as hard as I can and that’s all I got. On the right is the following morning just barely flexing. Bloating is a real thing, it happens to everyone, don’t stress.
Screw you! I know I'm better than you think ;)
Sometimes we come across people that will completely shut you down, tell you you are not good enough for them and that you do not belong to their standards. Yesterday I ran across the biggest asshole yet. I was there for a job interview to teach Zumba classes. Turns out that this guy did not even know what the heck Zumba is because he was playing music that has nothing to do with Zumba, some weird electronic shit and he wanted me to do a grapevine. I told him, if I knew the song I would be able to do it easily but this just caught me off guard. And just because of that little thing he basically told me about everything that is wrong and that you cannot learn how to teach a class just by doing a Zumba instructor course. Too bad for him because I already got a job at a different place plus I have stood in front of the biggest Zumba class that is given in the States. My tip: use these nay-sayers as a motivation to get further than what they expect for you to be. Their negativity is not worth you feeling worthless about yourself because if somebody tells you 'no' you just tell them 'watch me.'
I got my first Zumba teaching job
This past Friday I had an interview to start teaching Zumba classes and I actually got the job! This is super exciting because I get to do something I love doing, plus I get to share my love for fitness with others, plus I get paid to basically party. Wahoo!

Translation: "If only everything were as easy as getting fat! If it were, would we feel the same way about achieving it having to fight for it as we would if it were handed over to us?
newyearnewu
Dear followers, I just changed my account name from dienepien to newyearnewu, believing it is a more appropriate name to what my blog is about. Still the same person and same content. ;)
Remember that New Year's resolution you made?
Let's face it. Keeping New Year's resolutions are not easy to keep. Whether it is trying to quit smoking and that lingering smell of burned cigarette buds that just tries to tempt you to take another hit or trying to eat healthier but your colleagues decided to bring brownies to work and they are just screaming your name "Eat me! You know you want to." The truth is, we all cave in sometimes and trying to go cold turkey is just not going to work. The point into making New Year's resolutions is not to see how long you can go without it and failing and quitting completely if you happen to fall. It is about getting up again and giving it another try until you succeed. Now, I'm not a smoker so I do not know how hard it is to quit but it is a habit that needs to be broken just like how some of us have the habit to eat poorly. Nobody succeeded at anything by not trying over and over again. New things are scary to try but they could end up being the best things that we will experience. Keep going, keep trying, and never give up.
A couple weeks ago, I fell down and landed on my knees which left me with nasty bruises. My knees still hurt every once in a while which makes it difficult to jog. So I decided to try swimming again. It was definitely a work out since I haven't been in a pool in about 6 months. And since swimming doesn't hurt my knees I think that I will stick with it for a while.
Cravings!
We all have our cravings sometimes. But cravings only last about 20 minutes. So what I like to do when I have cravings is either drink water or a nice hot tea with some honey in it. Sweetness from the honey plus the hot tea keeps you full for a while.
Still think that drinking diet soda is better than regular soda? Think again, because here are 7 reasons to skip soda completely from your diet.
