Finished Gundam X yesterday. On the one hand I can see all the individual components that make this one overlooked. It is more episodic than other Gundams, not all of it's main characters get enough development to be super compelling, and while I like its aesthetics and mechanical design - they aren't innovative compared to what came before

But Garrod Ran is an absolute delight of a main protagonist, it's post-apocalypse setting and adventurous tone is fun, and it has a genuinely interesting angle on the Newtype Question in a way that Gundams after it fail to do.

Fifteen years ago, we all went through that war. We encountered people called Newtypes. And now that we are adults, let us reconsider our assumptions. In order to pass the baton to the next generation, the next era.

Nine episodes from Gundam X's finale and I've been referring to it half-jokingly as "the only Gundam for boys" because it has very strong middle-grade kid adventure novel vibes.

I think the way this manifests in a more serious way is Jamil and Lancerow, an Amuro and Char dynamic that as far as I can tell does not have a Lalah to contextualize their relationship.

The longing and yearning for a divine feminine idol as was the case throughout Charmuro and represented through Lalah is replaced with an interpretation of their relationship as a "Warrior's Bond" type of situation

Currently playing Gihren's Greed: Menace of Axis (a mostly complete fan translation of it anyway). It's a very complicated and slowly paced Gundam war simulator and it fills me with anxiety making any choices in the game so I restart often.

Event that has happened in nearly every run is that Char gets killed off early in the campaign by some Core Fighters.

Major 'DIY' hormone hub shuts down as the anti-trans brigade targets more sites

One of the biggest DIY HRT hubs in the UK appears to have permanently shut down just days after being targeted by right-wing outlets.

HRT Cafe, a grassroots database of tutorials, resources, and information on hormone replacement therapy (HRT), closed its doors earlier this week.

The website, which was maintained by a small, anonymous group of developers, was considered one of the biggest resources for ‘DIY’ HRT in the UK.

It is not illegal to possess non-controlled hormones for personal use without a prescription in the UK.

Developers shuttered the site unexpectedly earlier this week. No official statement has been published, only that its developers were no longer accepting donations.

Its closure came just days after a number of right-wing news outlets, including The Daily Signal, published articles on ‘DIY’ vendors citing HRT Cafe and other resource sites.
