Personally, I can only describe this movie with two words... Messed Up!

The above movie review however has been written in a lot more detail than my two words, and not only do I feel it is an accurate description of the feel, but is also quite entertaining to read! 

I personally would give this film a 5.5/10, it's not really a film i would, or could, watch over and over again, but why not give it a go and be... well... confused?

Noah ~ The Notebook

The Notebook, what can I say but the best love story of all time (in my opinion anyway). I love this quote, it represents real love completely. I am lucky enough to have found love like this already in my life, it is hard and needs work but it is completely worth it. To feel that way about someone, to want to be with them forever, the two of you everyday for the rest of your lives, it's the best feeling in the world, to love is to live.

I love this movie, tear up every time that I watch it. There's not all that much more that I can say about it, cause what I have already said is enough.

Watch it, you wont regret it!

Easy A… Well, this is a movie that never gets old. I’ve watched it almost a gazillion times and loved it each and every viewing. It’s a movie great for teens – girls and guys alike. It explores many issues surrounding the young people of today and does it in an entertaining and hilarious way.

  The cast is lead by Emma Stone as central character Olive and explores her life as one seemingly small lie turns into a huge rumour that circulates her school and affects her friendships, relationships and strangers alike. It uses many references to other films and books, which helps the ‘appeal factor’ for audiences if they are familiar with the stories.

  The film is filled with many monologues by the main character Olive in the form of online video posts which present her thoughts and ideas of the rumour in her life that has been blown out of proportion, and this film technique also helps to appeal to it’s intended target audience.

  I love this film, it is great! It’s filled with laughs, romance and drama. I recommend this for viewing for everyone!

The MTV Movie awards are an annual event hosted by MTV. This year they were held on Sunday April 14 in Los Angeles, California,  hosted by Australia’s own Rebel Wilson. The event rewards outstanding movies and performances from the past year with the awards all leading up to the presentation of Movie of the Year!

The MTV Movie of the Year 2013 was awarded to Marvel’s The Avengers! The film was nominated for the award amongst other movies like The Dark Knight Rises, Django Unchained, Silver Linings Playbook and Ted. I believe that this award could not have gone to a better film!

The Avengers is filled with an AMAZING cast with performances by names such as Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Robert Downey Jr.. The quality of acting within the film is outstanding and the storyline is even better. It incorporates stories and characters from multiple other films created by Marvel and Marvel Comics.

The film is filled with suspense, entertainment, comedy, and action and comes close to being the best movie I have ever seen, and obviously the best movie of 2012/2013!

I recommend this film for anyone and everyone!

I give this film a 10/10!!! :)

When I saw this film sitting on the shelf in the video store while searching the racks for something that appealed to me, it instantly jumped out and reminded me of the Aussie film Tomorrow, Where the War Began (2010). The cover art mainly jumped out and I thought of how similar it looked to that of TWtWB – a group of teenagers holding guns and other deadly weapons. After reading the blurb on the back of the cover I decided to give the film a watch.

The film is filled with many big name current actors, which is always a bonus and makes the film attract not only fans of the genre (Action) but fans of the actors as well. Actor’s like Thor’s Chris Hemsworth, Hunger Games’ Josh Hutcherson and Drake and Josh’s Josh Peck feature in the film. The movie's tagline however is quite ironic "Heroes are made in America"... well actually, one of your characters featured on the movie poster is played by AUSTRALIA'S  Isabel Lucas. Aside from that small error you could say, the above actors help fill the film with an all star cast.

The storyline appealed to me personally with the relationships between the characters creating real interest for viewers, and the action scenes very attention grabbing. The film has also been filled with tear jerkers which really draw the viewers into the story and create sympathy for the central characters.

I find this a really good movie that I recommend is worth watching for any movie lover. Give it a go, why not? You wont be disappointed.

10 Things I Hate About You (United States, 1999)

Despite being named by most people as one of the best romantic comedy movies, I decided to pass over watching this one. Basically because I’m not a fan of current works of Julia Stiles and I’m not familiar with Heath Ledger’s works besides Dark Knight. So I highly doubt if the two can create a romantic chemistry as a pair. (Fyi, Chemistry bet. two leads in romantic movies is a criteria for me in watching it.)

But one random night, I finally decided to give this film a chance. All the aversions that I’m having suddenly flew out of the window as the film progresses. The actors that I have issues before watching this suddenly become adorable in my eyes. I appreciated Julia’s character and beauty. Heath Ledger’s swag in this film is infinite! Joseph Gordon-Levitt at a young age already shows his flair in acting. The girl opposite the latter is also beautiful and smart. 

This movie is well-written. Short but concise. It’s about a new student in school who had a crush in one girl. He gets to date his crush if he will be able to come up a date to his crush’s eldest (and terror) sister and the magic continues.

The dialogues are hilarious. The music is upbeat and very 90’s. The locations are appropriate. The actors and the story is the greatest asset of this film. All of them did great! I’m actually feeling a hint of regret while watching Heath. I just hope I appreciated him earlier when he’s still alive. But whenever he is, He will surely be remembered with the help of this light, funny and romantic movie. Very cool indeed. Deserving to be included in one my best films.

I have seen this movie on a number of occasions and agree with this review by dzoantheexplorer in every way. I love the comedy, romance and drama captured within this film. This is a favourite film of mine and recommend it for anyone to see!

Gollum - The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012)

  Overall, not a bad movie. I am a fan of The Lord of the Rings trilogy and as it's practically the prequel, I had high expectations. It wasn't bad, felt that it dragged on a bit, but was still quite good. I haven't seen it since it was in the cinema in January, so I can't really remember every detail, so not the best analysis here. I did enjoy the movie but I feel more could have been done with it.

A great movie, full of great laughs and great music, what more can I say?

Pitch Perfect (2012) is a film I have seen around 4 or 5 times and it never gets old. The jokes are hilarious and the musical arrangements are so catchy and current it is a great movie for our time. The top billed cast include Anna Kendrick as Beca the central character, Skylar Austin as Jesse the love interest, Anna Camp as Aubrey the nagging group leader, Brittany Snow as Chloe the nicer ‘side kick’ and Australia’s Rebel Wilson as Fat Amy the source of most of the films jokes.  

This film fits into the comedy, music and romance genres and I see evidence of all three genres at once for the majority of the movie. I personally cannot stop laughing every time I watch this movie. It is a musical and the whole cast has been casted really well to fit both their own individual characters and the ensemble as a whole. All of the characters have beautiful singing voices, which make the movie soundtrack really good to listen to. All of the songs used within this film (minus one or two) are very current and on the charts when the film was produced and still high up there to this day.

The only thing I can really fault this movie for is the occasional predictable storyline, especially the love story between Beca and Jesse. Although it is predictable, it’s still a valuable part to the film and a nice touch.

I do highly recommend this film to everyone who likes comedies, musicals and to watch an average love story play out.

I give this film an 8.5/10 :)

Today I am reviewing a movie that I have now seen 2 or 3 times. All the Boys Love Mandy Lane is a horror, mystery and thriller film made in 2006 staring Amber Heard and Michael Welch as the two main characters.

The film is filled with twists and turns and at the end the plot is twisted upside down with an unexpected ending, which is normally a good thing - having an unexpected outcome rather than predictable. In the case of this film, I must say it does not work well. The storyline is just weird. One second you think you know the murderer, then you think its someone else, then the original person and just continuously goes back and forth and by the end when you realise its some disturbing pact thing you are too confused to actually understand the events that have taken place.

Usually I am quite a fan of the horror genre, and the idea of a storyline where people are picked off one by one with a showdown at the end. This film just does not do it for me. I am not a fan. Unless you are into making yourself completely and utterly confused and disappointed, probably not the best film for you.

Sorry to say I give this film a 2.5/10 :(

My film review today is on the 2012 hit film The Hunger Games. It stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson as the main characters Katniss and Peeta and is based upon the 2008 novel written by Suzanne Collins.

This film would have to be one of the best movies I have ever seen. It combines action with adventure and sci-fi with fantasy, which makes it appealing to a varied audience group.

The film starts by setting the central theme and ideas of the film by presenting the audience with a run down of the ‘hunger games’ and why they occur and instantly makes the audience interested in the storyline.

I stayed connected with the story for the duration of the film because of the quick paced storyline and the connection that I formed with the characters – a sign I feel makes a good film.

I really enjoy watching this movie and can watch it over and over again with out getting bored of it.

I give this movie 9/10 :)

Warning for all those thinking of watching this film…. It’s a real tear jerker! This is the only movie I have ever cried in, so if you’re not willing to she’d a tear, then maybe this isn’t the best movie for you. If you don’t mind the feeling of teary eyes then please read on :)

This is an Australian film made in 2011 and based on a true story. It follows the life and adventures of the Red Dog who roamed the Aussie outback in search of his long lost owner. This film is filled with drama, adventure, romance and has a touch of comedy twisted in.

I must say that this film would have to be one of my favourite movies I have seen. I teared up on more than one occasion, meaning I became attached with the characters - which is always a sign of a good movie.

I highly recommend this film to any and all movie lovers

So a few nights ago I was over at my boyfriends house and we decided to pass time by watching the 2008 film The Rocker starring Rainn Wilson, Josh Gad, Christina Applegate, Teddy Geiger and Emma Stone and the main characters.

The storyline takes off with Robert “Fish” Fishman (played by Wilson) as the drummer in a band who soon disown him (for lack of better word). After fast forwarding 20 years into the future viewers follow this characters journey to the ‘Rock ‘n Roll’ hall of fame by joining his teenage nephew’s band.

This movie is perfect for anyone who loves music and a good laugh. The film is constantly filled with memorable one-liners that have you laughing for ages. The film’s only downfall is the predictable plot line where much of the movie, the outcome can be presumed.

Overall it is a good film and packed with laughs

I give this film 6.9/10 :)
