I've been seeing so many artists doing renditions of not only the Rebel Loons, but also other state Rebel Birds, and I'm loving this trend so much. I had to do a Rebel Loon of my own 💙🩵🤍 using our Minnesota state flag colors. Also, charging up the laser eye just because I'm obsessed with laser loon. 🤣 Minnesota cannot be stopped, we cannot be silenced. Our communities are too strong for the feds to overcome. We will not back down. We stand with our immigrant neighbors and community members.
Laser Loon says, NO MINES IN MINNESOTA'S BOUNDARY WATERS. Yesterday, the US House voted to lift a ban on mining in Minnesota's Boundary Waters, following this administration's Crusade of chipping away at a myriad of environmental protections. This mining ban protects one of Minnesota's most treasured wilderness areas, and losing these protections puts this beautiful land at risk of toxic runoff pollution.
The Boundary Waters are sacred land for the Anishinaabe People, and the water is vital to growing and harvesting wild rice. There is rich Native history in this land, and our government is trying to sellout for a quick buck and corporate interests at the expense of fresh water and many people's way of life.
"This heartbreaking vote shows that under the Trump administration no place in America is safe from toxic mining, including the spectacular Boundary Waters wilderness. Rep. Stauber and everyone who voted for this reckless, unprecedented attack have completely ignored the Forest Service's own science and the overwhelming public support for protecting the Boundary Waters from copper mining. We'll keep fighting this terrible bill in the Senate, and we won't stop until the Boundary Waters are permanently protected from toxic mining." –Marc Fink, an attorney representing the Center for Biological Diversity.
The bill to remove the ban now moves to the Senate for a vote. It's not too late to save the Boundary Waters from this environmental disaster. Contact your senators, tell them to keep this land protected. I know there's so much going on right now, in this country and Minnesota alone, but they want us overwhelmed by their chaos—that overwhelm benefits them.
We've been witnessing ice on ICE violence in Minnesota. 🤣 You know how it is—"some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses." ICE agents are wearing full face coverings for the same reason the KKK wore their dorky little hoods, don't get it twisted.
I'm not here to argue with anyone, so if you're mad about this, go argue with your momma.
Resources for aid in Minnesota can be found at standwithminnesota.com. If you're looking for ways to help, and especially if you're out of state and feeling helpless and looking for ideas, this website has a bunch of links in a well-organized list for different ways our communities could use assistance. Please also never stop talking and thinking about the Black and brown people who have been dying and tortured in ICE facilities. ilcm.org is a law center based in Minnesota doing work for immigrants—they have resources on their website, details on your rights, and are taking donations for their cause.
Matthew and I carved pumpkins last night. :^) This was actuality harder than it looks to do, lol. Wild that we've been together 10 and a half years, and this was the first time we've carved pumpkins together. 🤣 I just did a basic skull because I couldn't really think of what to do tbh, lol.

PRIDE CLAWS PRIDE CLAWS PRIDE CLAWS. My yellow turned out very pastelly (you can barely tell it's there in the nonbinary nail in the pics ughh) & the circle in the progress pride flag is very off-center, but oh well. 💀 https://www.instagram.com/p/DK8i7dotNf1/?igsh=MnR0ZWs1Y3M1M2c3

Y'all know what the deal is.
Finished this dead tree back in Dec of 2020. Lower half (trunk & roots) is healed, upper half with the branches is fresh in these photos. Tbh, the roots on the hand could use some touchups, but that's the gamble you play sometimes with hands when your client does manual labor. 😅
[Image Descriptions: 1-3: Photos of a forearm over a solid black background, slightly varied angles. Along the full length of the forearm is a gray wash tattoo of a realistically styled dead tree, with bare branches spanning the upper half, and roots flowing down onto the hand. 4: The first 3 photos combined as a collage in a row.]
Here's a lil custom flash piece I did back in Nov 2020. I did a series of flowers with obscene & goofy sayings in the stem.
[Image Description: Forearm on black background. On the forearm is a tattoo of a seeded dandelion, with three seeds floating away in the breeze. Cursive writing, incorporated in the stem reads, "blow me." The tattoo is in grayscale with a pop of color in the head of the dandelion.]
This was a memorial piece that I did back in Nov 2020 for a very sweet gal. ❤️🩹 Her skin got pretty sick of me by the end, but she was a rockstar & sat like a champ. 💪🏻
Splashy & colorful elephant tattoo on the riblets from fall of 2020. :^)
Lil nip tattoo I did a few years ago.
