marnie laughs, shaking her head at him, never a dull moment when she was in his company. “ you’d think i’d be like immune to it by now, but apparently not. well, having the alcohol tolerance of a child is a good thing sometimes. means i’m a cheap date. ” she smirks, moving towards the bar. “ so, do you wanna go all out with salt & limes, or just drink it straight from the bottle like some sort of savage ? ”
“it depends. i prefer an expensive date but i’m sure a lot of dudes out there see it like you do.” kai shrugs, sneaking the bottle from behind the bar, seeing as the bartender seemed rather busy. his lips pursed for a second. “guess i am the savage type but since i got to pick the poison, we can go with salt and limes. all it’s missing is a stripper to drink bodyshots from and this party would be seriously lit.”

“ okay, rude. my ass is amazing & you know it. don’t even deny it. ” she laughed, rolling her eyes at him. “ because i’ve had like six glasses of champagne & i can’t be responsible for my actions. ” she shrugged, her tone teasing as always. “ dangerous. but i’ll oblige. let’s go get thoroughly tequila’d. ”
“you’re delusional and i know it, yes. i’d never deny that.” he grins, tongue darting across his lips. “literally, nobody gets buzzed from champagne other than you. that’s what happens when you don’t even have the right height to go on the big-boy’s rides.” he teased, titling his head towards the drinks. “c’mon, ladies first.”

Tanya hummed to herself as the Christmas music filled her shop,she stood on a ladder placing some baubles on the top of the Christmas tree. She loved this time of year but this year she had so much to do and decorating her shop was top of her list before doing anything at home to get for her family.
“Hey,could you hand me one of those baubles.”She asked the customer that just came .
kai had been roaming around aimlessly when he had stepped inside of the shop, a bit less bothered than usually by all the christmas songs and lights. it was overwhelming and he hated it with all his heart. peeking around, his brow rose at the other’s words, a smirk crossing his lips shortly after. “you know, it’s not very professional to ask help to a costumer.” yet, he obliged, reaching out one of the baubles as requested.

“ yeah, but i didn’t. so your point is invalid. ” marnie shrugged, not willing to take responsibility for something that barely even happened. especially not in her current state. “ okay, please never say anything like that to me ever again. i may have to throw a drink at you if you do. ” she warned, only half teasing. “ ugh, fine ! what were you thinking ? ”
“your ass is invalid. mainly because it’s nonexistent, but y’know.” he replied back, holding the biggest smirk ever across his lips. always attempting to get under her skin, without a doubt. “why not? i’ve said worse things and you’ve kept your cool.” his brows furrowed. “hm, tequila? i saw a bottle a few minutes ago practically shinning at me.”

“not that i’ve talked to any of them since high school,” she muttered, shifting her gaze back to the laptop screen in front of her. she needed to submit this paper to her professor within the hour, and she was just finishing up the final touches. “you act like you didn’t completely shatter the world that i knew. for a while i couldn’t tell the difference between people being genuine or people were just taking bets like you did,” she admitted honestly. daniela knew that he didn’t care about the fact that he had hurt her, but it almost felt good to admit it. “mm, lets’ see. taught me to not trust anyone’s motives, taught me that high school movie tropes could become reality?”
“probably for the best.” whilst he couldn’t remember every single one of them, he had gotten around in high school, with or without a girlfriend. seemingly, everybody was attracted to the musician, even more so with a imaginary leash around his neck. “exactly. i taught you a valid lesson — trust no one.” kai shrugged nonchalantly, unable to see the error in his actions. feelings had to be messed around with, sometimes, in order for people to learn; and he didn’t mind being the bad guy. letting her babble on for a while, he took a seat on the empty chair across from her. “but people like you don’t change. i bet you’re just as innocent as you once were. — do you still believe in santa, too?”

“we were in high school, you weren’t that good. just because you were probably the best fuck everyone else in that school has ever had doesn’t mean you were mine,” she hated that he got to know her so well. hated that she let him get under her skin. “i was over being the better person when i had to start going to therapy because of you,” she smiled in a faux sweet fashion. “i’m sure you’re proud of that fact, though. i’m sure i’m also not the only girl to have that happen to them,” she looked at her cup, which did happen to be empty. “go ahead then, get a tea for me.”
“of course you’d say that. your girl friends might disagree with you on that.” kai pointed out, half wondering if he could get under her skin with a low comment or another. she did seem pretty worked up but could he make her blood boil? that could be something to peak his interest. “therapy? seriously?” his brows raised in shock, a quiet chuckle following that lead. not in a million of years, could he ever guess that he had gotten through her that much. “if anything, you should be happy for having me in your life. i bet you learned a couple of things from me... and i’m not talking sexually.” his lips pursed, however, a grin quickly evaded his features. “but that too, i suppose.” he shrugs nonchalantly, raising up a hand as he called up one of the staff’s attention.

she could already feel her cheeks heat as she got angry. seeing him after all this time brought back a rush of feelings – the first guy she ever thought she loved, the first guy to break her heart. before she met kai, she was shy, innocent, had never been on a date. daneila could admit her brought her out of her shell at first, but it was not for the better by a long shot. “sorry, why would i miss you? what did you ever give me that benefited me?” she said with an eye roll. “bleach? some kind of poison? i know you usually have some handy, being a snake and all,” a smirk crossed her lips as she twirled her pen in her hands.
“self-esteem? the best fuck of your life? i mean, i could go on.” those words slipped down his tongue as mere others would. anyone that knew him well enough, knew that shame wasn’t a word he was familiarized with. and whatever thoughts occupied his mind, weren’t held back for too long. thinking twice wasn’t his thing. “ouch — that one almost hurt, dani. i thought you’d try to be the better person here.” an act he has seen thousand of times before. still, it was funny to watch people attempting to put on a facade for him. “maybe some tea? you could probably use some. no need to get all worked up over nothing.”

daniela had never really been one to lose her temper easily, it usually took repeated offenses for someone to get on her bad side. one person in particular could always push her buttons – a ghost from her past. the last time she saw him she was sure it’d be the last. little did she know he’d appear in front of her almost two years later, saying her name – or his version of her name and making chills run down her spine. she didn’t even have to look up to know who, rather what was standing in front of her. but she did anyways, “kai. i can confidently say that i haven’t missed you at all.”
quite frankly, what had gone down, wasn’t his fault entirely. the thrill of the bet ran through his veins and before his brain could catch up with, the damage had been done. besides, who didn’t enjoy messing up with someone else’s innocence? it was almost one of his hobbies, something which he wasn’t ashamed of, at all. “now, that i know that it’s not true at all. — you were never a good liar.” his tongue darted across his lips, hand resting on top of the empty chair, supporting half of his weight there. “can i buy you a drink? for old time’s sake.”

marnie steadied herself, about to thank kai for saving her until he brought her glass to his lips. eyebrows raised at him, a slightly shocked expression on her features. “ i can’t believe you just did that ! well, i can, but i’m mad about it. ” she shook her head at him, arms folding across her chest. “ you’re the worst ! come on, let’s go get a whole bottle since you’re so into sharing. ”
“you almost fell on me! you might be tiny but that would still count for some lasting bruises.” kai retorted, arms crossing before his chest, mirroring her actions. finding her drunk off of her heels wasn’t a surprise, but being the one paying for such consequences, wasn’t exactly anticipated. “actually, i do mind. i only share women... and only when i’m feeling nice. besides, that champagne bullshit tastes like juice. can’t we drink something else?”

kai didn’t have much of a turn off switch and when he’d decide on something, not even god himself would be able to stand in the way. it helped that his conscience was almost nonexistent and when brown hues settled upon a well known figure from afar, his steps shortly led him into her direction. a rough path would be describing their relationship lightly, at least from her end but from his point of view, both had gotten some fun out of it and nothing else mattered. “dani,” he calls out, letting the familiar name fall down his tongue easily. it had been a while but she hadn’t changed much from what he could see. “missed me?” a smug grin occupied his lips, fingers scratching his scruff lightly — a quirk that he has always had.

it’s not a party unless marnie is doing something a little ridiculous & tonight she was dancing on a table. it’s stability is questionable, but the champagne in her hand means she couldn’t care less. she doesn’t quite realise what’s happening until it’s too LATE — until the heels she’s wearing cause her to lose her balance & she’s fallen on top of the person nearest to her. “ oh ! i’m so sorry, are you okay ? ” she giggles, still not quite sure what had exactly happened. “ at least i didn’t spill my drink ! ”
kai wasn’t paying much attention to his surroundings, much more interested in the drink in his hands yet his subconscious was, arms stretching up and catching up the girl before she could fall flat on her ass. his drink, obviously, crashing down on the floor. “are you sure?” he pondered, lifting her arm some enough to pour her drink between his lips, a smug grin evading his lips then. “seems like you’ll need another drink after all.”

“would it be completely wrong of me to order in some pizza to this party? i need some food to soak up the liquids and i’m starving.” liam sat on a table, legs dangling without touching the floor and as always his phone right in his hand. “or else i have to leave. get some food. come back unless i’ve passed out in a ditch. duude, i’m too lazy for that. help me out, should we?”
“i don’t know how everybody else would feel about it. i’m pretty sure somebody else would catch up the pizza delivery dude and you wouldn’t even get to smell the pizza.” he shrugs, scratching the back of his head. “you’d be safer drinking water in between every alcoholic drink or move your lazy ass and go to the nearest open shop. honestly, i do want pizza now that you brought it up but i doubt that we’ll get to eat it.”
