This, this is the kind of scene that makes me love a character with all my heart
Bart is after a villain right now, yet he still stops to give this little guy his balloon back and apologises for his speed making the boy lose it in the first place.
Does the “I’m gonna get a good grade in” person know the impact they’ve had. Do they know they did in fact got a good grade in post, something that’s both normal to want and possible to achieve,
Every day I pray for Bart & Thad fics about redemption and forgiveness, change and the need for love. Fuck, Thad's introduction was a kid so incredibly abused he was incapable of accepting help because he couldn't handle the feelings it came with.
Damn you, Fastest Man Alive. But at the same time... What does death mean to you when you have already died a few times? When you have become the Speedster Grim Reaper and the White Flash?
I need those two to be the most insane twin duo because no one will understand them the way they could understand each other. Let's talk about being the Allen-Thawne kids, the living embodiment of a centuries old feud. Nobody else speaks their mother tongue. They were raised in machinery, their lifespans completely unnatural...
One was born out of the suffering inflicted on the other.
One was born out of love. The child of Romeo & Juliet. And ended up taken away from it, ripped from his family with no chance to get back... Feeling alone, strange, left out in ways hard to articulate even amongst the family he has.
The other was made. Engineered by a narcissistic megalomaniac. Starved of all human affection at every step. And the only time he was loved was when he pretended to be someone else. And the one time he was truly offered love, he couldn't take it, he couldn't trust it. He couldn't jump over the horrible wall of pain to reach for it, so he walked away.
Give me those two learning to care about each other, to love each other, to change each other. Let me see them be happy.
Tornado Twins 2.0. if you will.
Ykw? If you throw Jenni into the mix, let the Tornado Cousins take down Thaddeus Thawne Sr. THEY DESERVE IT.
I already reblogged this once, but Bart deserves to be angry. He deserves to be angry at his grandfather - who murdered his dad, whose machinations kept him away from his mother, who created a clone-brother and then abused him horribly in order to turn him into a weapon to hurt Bart, most likely to try to turn Bart into a weapon to hurt others.
If anyone could drive Bart to homicidal anger, it would be Thaddeus Thawne I.
As for his interactions with Thad - the complexity of that is what would matter. He would be angry at Thad, but ultimately? Thad is as much victim as villain. And also, Bart would be well aware that the intervention of others (WALLY) only made things worse. Wally tortured Thad - something Bart wouldn't condone, even though Thad did get him killed. And then when Thad did get broken out, Hunter Zolomon messed with him more in some hamfisted attempt to turn him into a hero, which ended in Thad's death, only for them both to get revived... somehow.
Because in the end, Bart would know no amount of violence is ever going to stop Thad, really; it only reinforces that he's a reject, that he's worthy of nothing but hatred and pain.
And the first step toward Thad's redemption isn't connecting with him as a brother - that comes later, if at all, it's making Thad realize that the choices are his to make. That if he wants to be Bart's enemy, fine - but that's his decision, not their grandfather's call, not some calling in the blood.
"Dude, Thad, stop. Stop talking about the Thawnes and the Allens like that, because if you haven't noticed, I'm the one that looks like mom. You? These days you look so much like our dad that looking at you makes my heart hurt."
And then there's Thad, holding a hologram in his hand and realizing except for his eyes he does look UNCANNILY like Don Allen.
And looking at Don and Meloni and asking Bart, "Would they have wanted me?"
"Do you want them?"
"Desperately."
"Well there's your answer. If you came from them, and you want them, why do you think mom and dad would've looked at you and thought 'Ew, what a freak, throw him in the garbage chute and keep the cute brown haired one'."
𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: headcanons on how tim drake's physical touch would be with his partner
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: none, pure fluff, kissing (? is that a warning)
<𝟑: ive never done hcs before so i hope you like it! tysm for requesting :)
✷ ━━━ KISSING
✷ Tim almost always initiates a kiss by brushing his thumb over your cheek or jaw first, like he's checking that you're really there.
✷ He tends to cradle the side of your face with one hand rather than grabbing both cheeks.
✷ If he's been working for hours, he'll absentmindedly kiss your forehead before he even says hello.
✷ His favorite kisses are the quiet ones between conversations. You're both reading, you look up, he leans over, quick kiss, then goes right back to what he was doing.
✷ When a kiss lasts longer, one hand usually settles at the small of your back, pulling you just a little closer. Not possessively, just because he likes you close.
✷ If you're shorter than him, he'll instinctively duck his head instead of making you reach up.
✷ ━━━ HUGS
✷ Tim loves hugs where he can wrap both arms around your waist and just... rest.
✷ After patrol, he'll almost melt into you. His chin ends up on your shoulder, eyes closed for a few seconds while he finally lets himself relax.
✷ He's surprisingly clingy when he's exhausted. If you hug him first, he'll tighten his grip without thinking.
✷ He doesn't always ask for comfort verbally. Sometimes he'll just stand beside you until you open your arms and wrap him in your warm embrace.
✷ Back hugs become a habit. If you're making coffee or cooking, you'll suddenly feel his arms around your middle and hear a sleepy, morning.
✷ ━━━ CASUAL TOUCHES
✷ His hand naturally finds the middle of your back whenever you're walking through crowds.
✷ If you're sitting together on the couch, he'll lean until your shoulders touch. Physical contact without demanding attention is his comfort zone.
✷ He absentmindedly plays with your fingers while thinking through a case.
✷ When you're talking, he listens better if one of his hands is resting lightly on your knee or forearm.
✷ ━━━ WHEN HE'S TIRED
✷ This is when he's the most openly affectionate.
✷ He'll flop onto the couch beside you and immediately lean his head on your shoulder.
✷ If you're lying down together, he'll tuck his face into your neck and stay there, half asleep.
✷ One arm ends up draped around your waist almost every time.
✷ If you run your fingers through his hair, he's gone. Any attempt to keep working lasts maybe thirty seconds before he starts dozing off.
✷ ━━━ AFTER PATROL
✷ The first thing he usually does isn't kiss you, it's check that you're okay if you were waiting up. Once he knows you're safe, he'll let himself accept affection.
✷ He likes when you cup his face while checking for injuries. He'll lean into your hand without realizing it.
✷ If you're helping clean up cuts and bruises, his free hand almost always finds yours or rests lightly against your hip. It grounds him.
✷ He'll quietly rest his forehead against yours after everything's patched up, enjoying the silence more than trying to fill it with words.
✷ ━━━ SLEEPING TOGETHER
✷ Tim insists he doesn't move much in his sleep.
✷ Tim is a liar.
✷ He gravitates toward your warmth, so sometime during the night he'll end up with an arm around your waist or tangled with your legs.
✷ If he wakes before you, he doesn't immediately get out of bed. He'll spend a minute just watching you sleep, smoothing a stray strand of hair behind your ear before carefully slipping away to make coffee— or to inevitably get distracted by a case.
Say you break your ankle. You could know everything there is to know intellectually about the injury. Even with this vast knowledge, you will still experience physical pain.
Now take this logic and apply it to things like ADHD, autism, clinical depression, and other less visible/divergent disabilities. You cannot think your way out of feeling.
That is to say: you are not a bad, lazy, or selfish person for struggling, even if you know why you are struggling.
I feel like my body is the robber, just trying to get by in a difficult situation, and all my various diagnoses are members of the Justice League. Like, “one of you is more than enough to stop me from trying to do the thing. You don’t have to gang up on me!”
