Dragons Rising S4P1 is PEAK

I just relogged into this old account after watching all 10 episodes at once. I meant to space them out but the writing animation everything was just TOO GOOD

The themes were on point. characterisationw as beautiful. pacing was fast but energetic I dont mind the switching of scenes its like a return to the old days of A plot B plot C plot etc

It also teaches embracing failure to make way for change, to let go of the past but hold on to the connections

its just so goooooood

I've been watching and keeping up with Ninjago with some fan content on the side but oh man this season makes me wanna get back into being more of an active fan

Watching Ninjago Dragons Rising for the past few days as I gradually upgrade the screen size to be bigger and bigger- I love it so damn much it's so good!! Maybe cuz I'm a Lloyd kinnie (so sorry Jay Cole and Zane fans) and he's like... a star in this first half

I really find it absolutely hilarious how a lot of the scenes felt like this. (Filthy dragons may not eat here for example lol) and I do hope that the writers have not forgotten about it/retconned it cuz I do think it explains why Lloyd was the one who was able to be the source dragon's conduit - it makes sense in a way.

Dragons rising season 3 raised the bar and sets up more stuff for the Oni side… I wonder if Lloyd will become conduit for all source dragons in the series finale? After all, Ras needs all 7 icons… really good season, will rewatch later today!

anyways it’s so funny to hear similar things this time, like Frak saying: “The Oni were this race of super-evil demons” and how Thunderfang targetted Lloyd for the conduit power instead of him being part Oni. Kinda sad how Lloyd still hates the Oni side of him, but it’s really neat how he tells the lore of the first realm.

Also the Oni markings feels like it would be important in the future, and the Oni chalice creeps me out

Sorry for not uploading this sooner! I actually did finish this on day 4 but kept procrastinating to upload it, I'm just lazy lol

I find it so intriguing that the green cousins started from seemingly different paths which are actually the same, but ended on different paths. One child thought to have found saviour in the light, but was turned to the dark. The other wanted to walk along the shadows, but was casted into light. All by destiny. All by fate. 50 years apart.

@morrotober Day 2: I was better

When I saw the prompt I instantly knew which scene I was going to recreate. I made Morro larger because I wanted him to be more imposing but I also wanted the viewer to be on Lloyd's side like the actual scene. The end result is a little wonky but I don't have the time to change stuff.

Doodled the thumbnail on my Math 1 Paper last Friday and spent time (2h 48 min) drawing instead of revising for chem and physics finals for Monday 3 Oct lol (honestly my fault for procrastination/lack of motivation but I'm so done with school right now)

Have a speed paint btw! Might reblog this one month later when the paper comes back with the original sketches (I did 2 because I had time)
