The school year is just starting and my parents are already hounding me about what I’m going to do after graduation. Someone just please put me out of my misery.
“Man, I hear you. My mom is asking me what jobs I have lined up for after graduation already.”
Apparently surfing is going to be added to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. My day is officially made. Seriously - do you know how awesome that is gonna be to see?
“Between that and skateboarding, the Olympics are gonna be super chill now.”

“Yeah it sounds pretty chill.” She nodded. “Maybe I’ll see you there.”
“If you swing by I’ll show you some of my fancy bartending moves.”
“Maybe because we’re actually not. Can we skip to the part where you tell me what the hell do you want? I’m kinda in the middle of something important that’s called sleeping. Don’t know if you ever heard of that but people like me need it.”
“Hey, I like to sleep just as much as the next guy but there’s no need to get nasty about it.” He pulled the letter out of his jacket, reaching out to give it to the girl. “This letter ended up in my mailbox. I guess the mail guy got them mixed up but I figured you might want it.”
“Oh, you work at a bar? That’s pretty cool.” She smiled. “I’ll definitely text you, and see you later?”
“A whiskey bar to be exact. It’s pretty chill.” He grinned back at her. “For sure. See you around.”

“Oh, oh yeah. That’s that’s a good idea.” She grinned and pulled her phone from her bag and handed it to him. “Put your number in, and I’ll text you?”
Nino smiled back at her, pressing his phone number into the phone. “There. If you get out late and can’t find me at the library, I might be at my other job. I can text you the address of the bar if you really want to return it.”
You know, when you say shit like that you make me wish your mother was a virgin.
“And when you say shit like that I wonder why I’m your friend. The sass is too real sometimes.”

There may be, but I’ll still bring it by there before I head to my dorm. Hopefully I’ve have my last unprepared run in with storms for awhile though.
“I have an idea. What if I give you my number that way you can find out if I’m still at the library. Just in case you walk all the way there and I end up not there.”
“Vibe? Dude, who are you?”
“Nino Fiore. Nice to meet you.”
“If the other person takes it as a compliment.”

“I guess, I still feel bad though. Where will you be after my class gets out? I’ll bring it back to you.”
“I should be in the campus library. But, feel free to keep it as long as you need. There might be more storms that napkins won’t help with.”

“I’ll have to Google these things. You’ve opened a whole new world to me, Winnie.”
“Yes, but most compliments are easily identifiable as such.”
“You’ve got a point there. Though, ambiguous compliments can be better.”
“And that is why we get along so well. We just get each other, man.”

It is in bubble tea.
“Is it only in bubble tea or other things as well?”
Jordyn rolled her eyes but laughed. “Well thank you for the compliment, I guess.”
