This takes place vaguely pre-war in my personal continuity, what will become the Decepticons are emerging as a distinct faction of the collective revolution, and Megatron and Soundwave are forming a bond. Soundwave is on the tail end of emerging from a much more vulnerable period in his life, not quite able yet to fully rise above deeply ingrained insecurities. He’s never been like any other mech, and his failures to connect with others has been a weight on his self esteem for a long time. Megatron has his simultaneously blunt and dismissive way of showing he cares, but being a mind reader Soundwave doesn’t need constant verbal reassurance. He knows Megatron’s spark is true, and that’s all that he needs. All this to say I’m soft for their relationship and unique form of care they show for each other.
Anyways IM FINALLY FREE I PROCRASTINATED THIS STUPID CONIC FOR ACTUAL MONTHS IM FREE FREE AS A BIRD!!!! I certainly learned a lot about the comic making process from this, mainly that if I want to make longer comics then this I’m gonna need to simplify the rendering and crack down on my urge to fully render it. Also next time don’t set your comic in a dark bar when you’re still figuring out how to do this. Yay for learning!

I’m kinda surprised that nalbinding isn’t as popular as crochet and knitting tbh because it has an even lower barrier of entry tools wise and unlike crochet and knitting it makes fabric that you can cut.
I feel like part of it might be casual people are generally aware of the existence of crochet and knitting, even if they don’t know very much about either, but have never heard of nalbinding
Yeah I hadn’t heard of it until recently and I ordered a big bone needle for myself to try it out and that should be arriving soon.
I was surprised that I’d never heard of it though. It’s older than knitting and crocheting and even though it’s been done all over the world it’s super relevant to Nordic culture and my grandmother and I are both into keeping in touch with our roots a bit so I’m surprised I’ve never heard of it.
It seems like the sort of thing that would be popular even if not as popular as crocheting and knitting, considering the low barrier of entry.
You also don’t need a bunch of different sized needles for nalbinding or whatever. The size of the stitch is controlled either completely freehand or by pulling it against one of your fingers. Most people who have a lot of nalbinding needles seem to either have tried out wood, bone, and metal ones to see which kind they liked or they enjoy carving wood or bone and like making their own needles as an extra hobby.
It’s also a lot easier to freehand and adjust as you go than crochet or knitting and you mostly go by inches instead of rows and number of stitches so a large number of accessories like stitch markers or whatever isn’t really necessary.
Maybe the lack of accessories also makes it unpopular idk. People do like collecting things in their nests.
I've been wanting to do so, I cannot find anyone who can teach me, and any books I can find on it are Ass in the Visual Learning department. Otherwise I'd be making the hell outta some nalbinded fabric

I go into the tag for epilepsy and its all flashing lights. We can’t use our own tag because people without epilepsy fill it up with improper warnings.
Use ‘flashing’ in place of ‘epilepsy’ in your tags. You aren’t warning people of epileptics, you’re warning us of flashing lights. Please please tag properly. Epileptics say this endlessly and constantly and it’s ignored. You are risking lives by doing this.

Or maybe I, someone on the aroace spectrum, prefer to engage with romance and sex from the perspective of a character similar to me, as my relationship with romance and sex can't be separated from being aroacespec even as I'm usually favorable to the concepts, because my experiences are not those of someone who isn't aroacespec and using a character who isn't aroacespec is a different experience that does different things. I think people shouldn't forget he's ace when writing, and I do think there should be a discussion on what asexuality and aromanticism mean in fandom and how to treat them respectfully, but the blanket statement that everyone who ships him is erasing his asexuality is in turn erasing my own engaging with my asexuality
