Thoughts about Six of Crows: A Darker Shore Novella

since the latest editions (The Dregs edition) has made the ages of the characters ambiguous, will they do the same for this novella?

if so i’ll be so devastated, i know it’s not a big thing but i hate that they changed their ages!

Six of Crows: A Darker Shore cover reveal!

The novella is set to release in summer 2026 and is now available for preorder!

The description on the Instagram announcement reads:

kaz being wylan’s “father figure”

“inej and kaz were not together at the end of crooked kingdom”

Random assortment of small but canon Six of Crows facts that you may have forgotten

1) Jesper shaved Matthias’ face for him on the Ferolind

2) Kaz bought the boat for Inej from Wylan

3) Accounts of Nina’s childhood before being taken and raised to become a child soldier are slightly inconsistent because she can’t actually remember it

4) The crows did shots before the Ice Court heist

5) The first time Wylan tried brandy he threw up

6) Inej had her tattoo removed by a butcher and the closest thing she had to pain relief was a mouthful of whiskey

7) Jesper is really good at sewing

8) When Kaz told them to exclusively bring essentials on the trip to Fjerda, Nina packed toffees

9) Van Eck casually lists tonics, beatings, and hypnotism as abusive actions he committed against Wylan

10) Matthias sleeps with his back to a wall because it wasn’t safe not to in Hellgate

Things that i’m hoping are in the Six of Crows: A Darker Shore Novella

- differences in handwriting (we know Kaz’s is really messy)

- a mention of Nina and Matthias hopefully

- some sort of idea of the progression of Kaz and Inej’s relationship

- the fate of Jan Van Eck and Tante Heleen

- if Nina still keeps in touch with the rest (we know she sees Inej at the end of Rule of Wolves)
