carmen grew quiet. what could she say after hearing that kind of answer? she thought this whole time they were on the same page but now it was obvious they weren't. “that's–…” she hesitated in responding, feeling uncertain about where they stand now. “that's nice.” her head shook before continuing, “no, i didn't. i couldn't. i tried, but i didn't feel as comfortable and stopped the whole thing before it happened.”

amara either hated or loved going to events. unfortunately, when it came to formal events, she thought they were a bit snobbish and dull. she would have avoided them completely, if it weren't for her public relations manager thinking it'd be great for her image if she made an appearance and mingled. eventually finding out ruy was going to be there, he was the only reason she was looking forward to going.

knowing they would be there, she avoided bringing a date and didn't expect him to bring one either, thinking it would give them an opportunity to sneak out. she arrived to the party with a bright smile but it quickly faded the moment she noticed ruy with a stranger by his side.

as hours passed, amara did her best to stay calm. she stuck to anyone else she recognized and kept her distance. everything had been going well, until she came across them kissing. she kept telling herself not to say anything, that causing a scene could end up everywhere on social media. the longer she stood there, the more she wondered if this was the other person he was seeing. every ounce of restraint slipped as she made her way toward ruy, and her hand moved before she could think twice. “if you wanted to bring someone, you should have told me. instead i feel like an idiot thinking we'd end up together!” she raised her voice, loud enough for others nearby to hear them. at this point, the young brunette didn't care who paid attention.

she asked him the wrong question, he absolutely felt no guilt. no regrets. if she knew better and knew him she'd know how much he loved playing with fire not minding getting burned a billion times. ❝ no, i feel none of that. ❞ truly, he'll never understand why she doesn't call off her relationship. clearly the guy didn't satisfy her like he does. angelo stepped closer to her, slowly grabbing her by the waist. ❝i'll answer that for you since you can't. ❞ he says softly, his gaze falling on her lips, at first he caught the hesitation coming from her but that didn't stop him from doing the rest. at least one of them knew what they wanted. ❝ you came all this way to do the same thing we've been doing all this time. isn't that what you want? waking up next to me. ❞

after hearing his response, she didn't feel that much better, unfortunately. instead more thoughts entered and made her wonder if he felt that way because of her, or because of the situation itself. “why not?” she couldn't help inquiring, not showing any expressions to display how serious she meant. maybe she just wanted the reassurance.

being pulled close to him, she allowed it and didn't push back. her stare remained fixed on him, quietly admiring his physique and the way he carried himself. he was honest and didn't shy away from saying what he wants, unlike her. sighing, juniper finally broke eye contact before leaning her head against him. "i wish things were different," she mumbled, the words barely audible.

she opened her mouth, about to let another venomous statement leave her lips. but her expression suddenly became serene. "...you know what? i'm happy i told you. because i feel so much... god, i feel so much lighter!" shaking her head, she laughed. "dream you is not the real you. every time i spend time with the real you, i get reminded of how utterly repulsive you are."

the sudden change in her expression left him feeling confused, before giving a roll of his eyes due to her statement. “i'm not that bad, you just choose not to see it that way. ask other people and you'd know.” then again, he purposely annoys her more than others for his own amusement. “but whatever. dreaming of this version of me is still dreaming of me," he teased. "try not to think about it while we're working together.”

it wasn't often he felt annoyed around trudy. they always had a good time when it was just the two of them. no worries in their world, no one else to think about often. it felt like a safe space for them. when finding out they were supposed to meet, but she had been elsewhere with someone, he couldn't stop the jealousy. he knew he shouldn't feel this way, considering they weren't together and there weren't any plans to be in a relationship anytime soon. however, he thought they were on the same page, that they would keep things casual but honest with one another. in a way, it felt like a betrayal. “yes, you do,” dante spoke with an irritated tone before taking a deep breath. he didn't want to yell or start a huge argument, but he felt like they were heading toward there soon. “why didn't you just text me saying you were busy?”

michael didn't consider himself a great person when it came to relationships. he didn't have huge issues with commitment, but the fear of going through heartbreak didn't seem worth it. however, after spending time with atlas, he wanted to give this a chance for the first time. keeping his arms wrapped around his waist, he couldn't resist squeezing a bit tighter before nuzzling against his back. he didn't expect to be so cuddly with him, but was glad he didn't mind. “thanks, but so are you,” he muttered before pressing a kiss on the shoulder. without waiting for more to be said, he couldn't help thinking about food. “do you think we can have pancakes for breakfast?”

while soobin may be saying that, victor didn't believe it at all. it was obvious she was acting out of the ordinary and would have brought it up sooner, but didn't have the time to until now. giving a confused look, he didn't want to argue too much on it, so he simply replied, “right. are you trying to convince yourself or me? because it's not really working.” plus, if she didn't want to talk about it, he wasn't going to push yet. “you should try to get more sleep. maybe that'll help.”

miray knew if she didn't send the invitation with her writing, she'd regret it forever. even if elanor didn't show up, she at least gave it a shot. however, seeing her now, she became speechless. she expected her to throw away the card and never speak to her again. “i–” during their time together, she understood things weren't perfect, but she still treasured what they had more than anything. “i missed you,” she muttered the confession. “i know we didn't work, but maybe this time around, it might happpen, right?” at least she tried being optimistic.
