Say what you will about Danganronpa (and believe me I have, can, and will) but you can’t deny that its general premise/format kicks so much ass.

You take 16 characters, all of which are the best of the best at what they do, and you trap them all in one place. They aren’t allowed to leave unless they can kill one of the other characters and get away with it.

From there you have the murder mysteries of each case, giving you a limited pool of suspects that decreases over time. As it decreases, you learn more and more about the larger mystery of “why is this all happening?”

It’s a compelling as hell format that you could easily just churn out over 50 games of this thing if you wanted, and it’s why the RP community is so huge, and also why there are so many fangame projects. Making 16 characters and having them Do That is really really fun!!!
