Long post alert: I want to thank everyone for coming out for our double qualifier this past weekend. In my mind, it feels like it was a successful event. I didn't realize what a huge under taking it would be. I wanted it to work out for everyone involved. I was determined to make it happen though. I tried my best to make it as smooth as possible. Between the cold weather, rain, small space, covid safety measures, course designing, and well everything else with planning, organizing, running a double qualifier weekend, and post competition duties. . Firstly, and most importantly, I want to thank my volunteers: The England's, Sabrina, Emma, Chris, Kristen, Krystal, Jaime. I believe I have everyone down. And Randy who basically stole the show with his MC skills, ESPECIALLY for the elite runs. He def gave Mike and Bruce Buffer a run for their money. Another big thank you to Dan and Jason who held it down behind the scenes with the ninjaworks software, abby mistakes, and with video reviews. I basically would have not had the comp if it wasn't for all of them helping me. It's a group effort to having a successful competition. . To all the out of town people /competitors that came in thank you for complying with the safety precautions, hand sanitizing, and wearing masks, etc. If not for yourself, do it for others. And also being patient with the whole competition day process. Had a few bumps on the road, but we got through it. . I still have not caught up on rest. Today completes day 21 that I haven't had a day off. I said I would never do a double comp again. Buuuut never say never. This past weekend was def a huge learning experience. And there is talks of possibly doing more comps this season. I do it for everyone that wants to compete. I do it to grow the sport. Also, I def wanted to make it worth it for my out of towners. We had A LOT of people qualify for regionals. Congratulations to all that competed. It takes a lot of courage to compete. I'm hoping we have many more athletes give NMP a visit and more competitions.
