On Writing

One of the worst things about being worldbuilder is having one skill, and one skill only. I like to think I am fairly decent in art. I can design a character or a location when needed, but the moment it gets to writing, my max becomes bullet points. I cannot publish a respectable series which conveys the importance of my world with BULLET POINTS. It’s infuriating. Why can’t I, for once in my life, figure out how to write either dialogue, plot, or any sort of narrative. I don’t understand it. I know writing takes practice, but I hate not being good at it. I wish there was a way for me to learn narrative writing like one learns painting. Not just a general “oh this is what you should do, but it’s entirely up to you,” NO! Too vague. I need a step by step how-to like how to block in colors first, then shadows, then highlights, etc, but the writing equivalent. I need examples MADE with said explanation. I want to SEE the process, not just read final products. I think it’s probably best that I start writing shitty little things here and there to improve, but GOD that’s embarrassing. I refuse to be bad at something. I’m gonna have to write in this blog, so apologies in advance.
