Hello, my name is Nadin. I’m from Gaza. I’m a graphic design graduate, a wife—and now, a mother.

I finished my design studies just before the war began. I had dreams of starting a small studio, of creating art that told stories. I used to think about colors and fonts and the future.

Then, the war came. And the future became something we tried to hold onto, moment by moment.

On October 22, 2023, I learned I was pregnant when a missile destroyed my husband’s family home, killing 25 members—his mother, siblings, nieces and nephews—entire branches of our family in seconds.

We were displaced twice. Everything was gone—home, safety, routine, rest.

A few weeks later, I gave birth to our daughter. There was no crib, no celebration—not even stillness. But she arrived, quietly and beautifully. In her eyes I saw something I hadn’t felt in weeks: life that still wanted to grow.

Now, our days are shaped by decisions that could dismantle the future we are trying to build together.

Today, Israel’s government is discussing plans for a full military occupation of the Gaza Strip, including Gaza City and southern regions. The stated aim: to eliminate Hamas and later hand governing control to allied Arab forces—not Israel—but with no clear path to peace or normalcy.

The humanitarian fallout is devastating. More than 61,000 Palestinians have died in this war; hunger and malnutrition are rising sharply. Hospitals in north Gaza have shut down, and 193 people have now died of starvation, nearly half of them children.

Aid remains blocked, water is scarce, and many risk dying of hunger or disease long before future promises arrive.

We Don’t Know What Comes Next There’s no clear path forward—only uncertainty for our daughter’s life and our ability to survive another day.

“Oh? Why a sudden question, Kuroo-kun?” you asked while walking beside him.

“Looking at that kid who’s being hugged by her mom earlier makes me think a lot, I mean we’re 25 so it’s normal to daydream about the future, yea?”

“Hmm. Yeah, if you said that so…” you answer him.

You enter the cafe and find empty tables. You sat down alongside him, picking foods and drinks from the menu. While waiting for the food, Tetsu continues your current conversation.

He looks beside him, staring at people walking from the window, “From my sight, all I think about having kids is like continuous KPI (Key Performance Indicator), and the numbers and changes will be changed, their education needs, their emotional needs, everything. Somehow I look at having a kid as having many tremendous challenges, unpredictability, prepared to be hurt and cry.” he sighed.

You smiled, fascinated by how this conversation turned into an interesting topic to discuss, “Hmm, I think you forgot one most important indicator, Kuroo-kun”

“What is it?” he titled his head, asking you.

“Happiness”

“Huh?” he frowns.

“Kuroo-kun, you’re so funny. A scene that you looked at earlier is a mother who gives their kids comforts and affection, it’s a form of happiness too, you know?”

“Hm, yeah. But I don’t know, for me, raising kids is also a new fear to deal with,” he said.

You stared at him, “I don’t know about kids, either, they are tiring and unpredictable, but I know there are a lot of happiness possibilities in having a family. Kids may be a drag but their parents have to be happy through the process of raising their kid.”

“Hmm, I agree about that then. So, what kind of mom would you like to be, Y/N? Like, a mom who prefers to stay at home, or something else?” he asked.

“Well I think being a wife and a mom must be linear in roles. Well, first I want to discuss this with my husband, the future father of my children when we can settle on co-parenting tasks for our children, for example maybe I make them food every day and my husband has to play with them after work. I don’t know whether I can survive being a full-time mom, but when my kids grew big enough for childcare. If I could, I want to work again.”

“Whoa, so even after you gave birth, you still thinking about working after that, heh?” he smirked. 

You gave him a real answer because of his playful expression, “Well, we have to be realistic about our future needs, right? It is possible that our family expenses increased year by year. And if I stayed as a full-time mom for 20 years, I’m afraid I can’t take my kid to a proper school-”

“Yeah. But Y/N san, you won’t ever know who will be your husband, right? Of course, he has to support his family financially” he asked, looking at the table.

You stopped your answer, staring at him with a blank expression, “Ah… right hehe. Maybe I’m focused too much on my side as a future mom. Yeah, but of course, I will discuss that with my future husband. Who knows the decision will be different?”

“Yeah yeah,” he said. 

“Well, how about you, Kuroo-kun?” you asked him.

“Hmm… I can’t put it in detail. But rather than focus on having children, regardless of happiness or not, I want to make my future wife happy first. I mean, if she is happy about having a kid maybe I will agree to it. My mother left me when I was little because of fights with my dad. That reason is the cause I never focused on having a kid, I want to focus on giving happiness and memories to my future wife, first”

“Hmmm, is that so”

“What if your husband somehow doesn’t want to have kids, Y/N?”

“Hm? Do you mean, I will not have any kids ever? Adopted or biological” you asked him. 

“Uh-huh. What do you think about that?”

“I don’t know Kuroo-kun, again, it depends on who will be my husband. Egoistically, of course, I want them. But if there is a reason that my husband can explain well to me, I can think over it again. To be truthful, I can’t imagine raising my kid without a father figure, especially when they’re still teenagers. So, of course, if I’m that ambitious about having a kid, I have to select a proper father for my kids. However, as I said, I want a significant role as a wife and a mother equally. In short, I want to be happy in both roles, not just being a mom, but also as a wife”

“So, you don’t know too huh?”

“Yeah, I guess so. But again, everything could be changed. At least I have based principles on my own, about the decision of having kids I believe married couples have to intensively discuss that. But if both individuals can’t have a solution or negotiation, it hurts, and separation is a possible solution.”

“So, the core must be fixed first, right?” he asked with a little laugh.

“Yeah, again, Kuroo-kun, but if you talk about step by step, I want to settle first as a wife.”

Finally, our food arrives, and when we have full of our orders, he suddenly told me not to eat first. He grabbed both of my hands and told me he want to confess something. 

“What if you marry with me?” he suddenly asked.

“Hah? Kuroo-kun what-” Your face suddenly went red. Even though you have a 10-year friendship with him you understand this is a romantic proposal. You can’t help but answer him with a stammered tone. 

“You know all of my weaknesses for the past 10 years of friendship, do you think I will fit as a father and husband?”

“Well if it’s about that, in father’s roles I think you’ll fit to be one, Kuroo-kun. We saw how you can lead your juniors at Karasuno. In terms of leadership, I think you’re a perfect fit for a father because you can put love and wisdom equally. For a husband, hm… I don’t know, somehow you never date anyone, so I don’t know..” you answer him while tilting your head to another side, unable to look at him.

“I believe that’s the general answer. what I asked is, am I worthy to be your future children’s father?”

“Huh?! Come again?” you were startled, and finally your eyes met his. 

“Am I suitable for being your husband and future father in your family?” he said with a smiling face. You hate when Tetsu’s confidence never weakens.

“No!… I mean, I don’t know, Kuroo-kun” you answer him.

“Is that so… So you don’t know or you don’t want to?” he frowns, wishing you said yes, yet you are still confused by his sudden confession. 

“We-well, you talk about future family, and currently I’m not dating anyone. I don’t know, the proper standards of a husband, to be honest…Kuroo-kun”

“I will get straight to the point then,” he said, grabbing your hand tightly.

He told you to look at his face, “I want to marry you, Y/N.”

“What? How? Why me? We’ve been best friends for a decade…”

“I believe there’s a proverb said you have to be best friends when you marry your wife. In my case, I have a best friend who I loved for a long time and I want her to be my wife.”

“This is not serious, isn’t it?” you laugh, looking beside you whether there’s a camera on, somehow hoping this is a joke that Tetsu always does in pranks.

“Y/N, When it comes to serious discussion, I never joked about it, you know me so well” he answers you.

“What do you see me as a potential wife then, Kuroo-kun?” you asked, hoping he gave up on his pranks.

“You took care me for almost 10 years as a best friend, I could say my loneliness from losing my mom was reduced intensively when you asked me to accompany you to the bookstore, grocery stores, and many other activities. Hmm, also kinda hurts when you have a boyfriend at that time, but you still replying to my messages, even saying to introduce me to your ex-boyfriend. Your talent and potential in professional also encourage me more that you’re going to be a lovely partner or even a mother”. Okay, his answer shows that he’s not playing around anymore. 

Somehow it turns silent, and both of you haven’t touched the food yet, “I’m not hurrying you about marriage terms.”

“If you want to date first, I’m okay with it. But my end goal with you is marriage, so I’ll wait for your answer no matter how long it is” You tilted your head up. He said that with a genuine heart. You know Tetsu so well, you just denying him for being serious this time. He’s not the same playful Tetsu that always played with you when you were little.

You bury your head in the table, sighing “I hate you when you’re serious like this… Damn you Tetsurou…”

“So, when will you give me your answer? If you ask about rings and money, I have it already, you know me, Y/N” He smirked.

“Stop it, Tetsu!” you smack his hand with your bag.

“I can’t wait to tell this story to our future kids”

“Dear God… help me” You cover your face with your hands, unable to see his smirking face.

In the end, you give your life and soul by marrying your best friend, you knew from the start he’ll be a great husband and father to your children. He still calls you “best friend and best wife” every time he wakes up.

“Yes, honey, what’s wrong?” Toshi asked.

“Takio, he’s..” you’re trembling staring behind Takio’s room door.

“What’s happening? I heard Kio’’s screaming in your background sound” he stood up from his seat, and quickly sign his driver to prepare his car for him.

“He… he hurt himself Toshi…, like I did when I was little, I don’t know now how to make him stop. He unintentionally scratched my arm when I tried to stop him…” you sat on the table, searching for a medkit to wrap the scratch. 

“I’m in the car right now. Is the scratch bad? Do you need an ambulance?”

“No, I’m okay but mentally not because I can’t stop him, Toshi…” 

“Okay, wait, I’m on my way home, 15 minutes, wait for me, okay honey?”

“Y-yes, thank you, Toshi” you closed his call.

He arrives, quickly enters the entrance door, and found you treating your hand

“Toshi” you look at him.

He quickly grabs your hand, and takes a good look at your wounds, “let me see”

“Okay, it looks not serious, thankfully” he sighed, glad that his wife was okay.

“Is he in his room?”

“Okay, don’t stress yourself, let me take care of him” he patted your head.

He enters the room and looks at Takio. His son’s hair is messy, his dark eyebags are visible, and his eyes are swollen because of screaming and crying.

“Takio,” he said, with a firm tone.

“D-dad..” Takio was startled, staring at his father walking towards him.

Your kid is pretty scared of Toshi because of his cold gaze 

“I’m sorry dad, I-I think I hurt mom a little bit back then, I-I’ll apologize to mommy later”

He just stares at him and takes a deep sigh. He sits on your son’s bed, straightly staring at his son who’s sitting on a chair.

“Mom is fine. But I’m not here to talk about that. Why did you hurt yourself?”

The moment he heard that his tear slowly began to flow.

“If Kio had something in mind, or even disappointed Kio, just cry it out. Did I and mom ever angry when you cried? No, right? We never taught you to hurt yourself”

“I don’t know dad, I’m so dumb at school. Mrs. X always said that I will never be as successful as you or mom”

Toshi’s eyes widen, and with his flat expression, he tried to calm himself down. 

“Okay, so, Mrs. X told you that?”

“Yes, dad…”

“How long had she been saying that?”

“Uh… I don’t remember when… But she always said that when I finish my volleyball extracurricular, I and other teammates somehow met her by coincidence when we want to go home. When we got to the school’s entrance gate, she always mock me with those words…. I was embarrassed because my teammates heard that out loud”

He stared at your 8-year-old kid, and can’t imagine if his self-hurt got worsened. He pulls his son’s chair closer so he can see him closer, “From now on, tell me and your mom if you experiencing bad things, okay? And don’t hurt yourself. I may be not as lovely and feely as your mom but we love you so much and it hurts us so much if you hurt yourself like this.” he grabbed your son’s hand.

The night ended with you hugging your son tightly, giving him multiple words of comfort. You’re glad your husband can help your son through his hardship.

You squeezed Tetsuro’s hand for the 20th time, unable to sleep. You have been struggling with 17 hours of contractions, waiting for your baby to arrive in this world. However because this is your first pregnancy and you also experience vomiting and dizziness, the doctor suspects this has to do with your asthma. It went well for 8 months, and at week 34 you felt a cramp in your belly. Kuroo went panicky after that and took you to the hospital.

Sometimes pregnant women who are in labor scream, cry, cursing at their husbands to relieve stress and pain. However, you felt tired and hard to breathe most of the time. It worries Kuroo the most because you looked paler minute by minute. Also, you minimize conversation with your husband because you just want to close your eyes and bear the pain.

“Honey if you want to cry, scream, or punch to relieve the pain, you can do that to me” he worriedly stares at you. You lay weak in the hospital bed, with IV drops punctured in your wrist. 

"Crying wastes much energy, you know once I cried I barely stop,” you answered.

He leans closer to the bed, put his hand on your forehead, and felt cold sweat drenched in your pale face. "I know, but you don't have to bottle up your feelings now. You're tiring your emotions too hon. Crying may be exhausting physically but it relieves your stress"

You still close your eyes, eager to open them. In the end, you slowly talk to him, grabbing his hand tightly because your belly is contracting again, "... It hurts"

"Go on, tell me more," he said, grabbing your hand tightly and rubbing your knuckles slowly. "It feels like he grow bigger, but pushing the birth canal" you cried with your eyes closed. "It's been 17 hours of contraction so you'll improve a lot, hon. It's already 6 cm dilated"

For the past 17 hours, you keep thinking if you ever survive this birth labor. Because this pain also increases your overthinking, and that is the reason why you don’t want to talk to Kuroo because you are worried to make him sad. "What… if I don't make it" you finally asked with your half-opened eyes.

He took a deep sigh and smiled, "You're the strong woman of hell I have ever known. You never give up on every misery in your life, right? Then so do you now. I believe you’ll survive this"

"..." you slowly closed your eyes and remained silent.

"Keep talking. Don't be silent honey, you can't sleep now. It’s time to take a walk again, 20 minutes walk okay?" Kuroo encourages you to keep awake. For the past 17 hours, doctors suggest you take a walk for 20 minutes per hour. You barely did it because it hurts like hell when she walks for the first 3 minutes. Kuroo struggles to convince you, he didn't dare to force you in your pale gaze.

“I don’t want to….” you cried, this time you cried deeply. Your tears suddenly flow a lot. “Hey hey honey, don’t cry.” He hurriedly hugs you in your sleeping position. He rubs your back gently. 

“This time, just 5 minutes, okay?” he negotiated, "No no no I don’t want to Tetsu:((" you still cried, this time you gripped his hand tightly because the contraction goes on again. Suddenly you felt out of breath, because of the contractions and sudden crying, Kuroo calms you down and told you slowly breathe.

"Honey, please for our Hiro, just 5 minutes, okay? Hiro will be happy if his mother quickens the birth, he can't wait to see his mama and papa, remember?" he encourages you. Tenderly stares at you, which also worries you. Tetsu has been accompanying you for 17 hours straight in the hospital, you know his anxieties increased since you ask him if you didn't survive. He still shows you that smile even though he’s damn more worried. He wants to fully support you emotionally.

He rubs your knuckles with his trembling hand, you felt it, and notice he’s extremely worried. Worried if you may not survive, worried if he loses you.

You tried to sit up from the bed, and Kuroo helps you. You stare at him who’s sitting beside the bed, still staring at you. “Okay…. 5 minutes. I’m going to survive this and take care of our baby together. Okay, Tetsu?”

“I could have not been prouder than that, babe” he smiles.

"I can't get out from this sadness" he quietly said, still crying on your shoulder.

"It's okay, let's go to the bed, shall we? you're probably dizzy to thinking those things, okay?"

"Okay...." you drag him to his bedroom, lying him on the bed. You want to make instant hot ramen for him, but he doesn't want to let you go.

"You probably not eating for a day, I'll make quick ramen then we can cuddle again, ok?"

“Don’t leave…” he said, hugging you more tightly than before. Hearing those, you remained sleep beside him.

In the end, he sleeps in your arms, hearing your amazing word of affirmation, comfort him as much as you could.

In the end, she only uses base foundation, lips, brows, and eyeliner, a full complete package she always used when she went out with Tobi.

After finishing his morning run, he enters their apartment door and looks at his girlfriend already preparing herself looking on full makeup. “Oh hey, hon,” he said, he hugs her dearly and almost kiss her forehead, quickly Y/N stopped him otherwise he have to taste some foundation in his mouth.

“Hi- Wait there, mister, I already put my foundation on so don’t kiss me anywhere on my face” she closes his mouth with her hand. Kageyama chuckles and just kisses her hand instead. 

They have their breakfast together, it’s Kageyama’s favorite sandwich menu. He takes his first big bite, another bite, and last bite until he realizes the moment he enjoyed his sandwich was not accompanied by his girlfriend’s appearance. Her sandwiches remained still because she haven’t gone out of the bathroom yet.

He opened the bathroom door and found her staring at the mirror, looking at lots of cottons she used for re-applying her makeup. Looking at her situation right now, he knows something’s off with her.

“Is something the matter?” he asked leaning his shoulder to the bathroom door, looking worriedly at her.

She sighed, putting her brushes down, “I’m weird, am I?”

“Well you look good, but I prefer your bare face. But if your current look is okay with you, I’m fine with it”

She was confused hearing his answer, ‘bare face’ is the most unconfident point level of Y/N's appearance, “Why do you like my bare face?”

“I mean, you don’t have to use that tints in your eyes, or even a colorful thing on your lips, I guess, and those red cheeks?” he means; eyeliner, eyelashes, lipstick,, and blush 🙂

“But I think I look awful on not using them…” she was confused about what looks she should use today, it’s a special day for Tobi as well. 

He walks to her, stroking her head indicating it’s going to be okay because deep down Tobi really doesn’t care about how bold her makeup is. Somehow he wants to help her, “Can I have one more request then, hon?” he asked.

She looks at him with a pout, “Uh, sure… But, what request? I mean it’s 8 AM babe, you’re going to be late, you have to go to the gymnasium at 9 AM, right?”

“Nope, I know you’ll make it quick,” he said while pouring her makeup removal water into cotton.

He gave the damp cotton to her, “Okay, now, clean your face from that makeup”

“Wha- why? C’mon Tobi it’s not fun to go to your match in the bare face” she took the cotton but urge to wipe her face.

“Trust me, okay? It’s my day babe, please?” he asked nicely with a sincere smile. She just can’t help because Tobi rarely smiles, in the end, she trusts him, wiping her face clean.

“Okay, first. I will instruct you about your makeup things because I often observe you doing this tiring thing” he said. Wow, he ‘observed’ her, should we assume he’s possessive and nasty? Lol.

“Can you just.. Apply that creamy thing, the first thing you use on all surfaces of your face?” he asked

“Uh… do you mean foundation?” she picks up her foundation bottle so he can look closely, and he nodded.

“Ah yeah. That thing.” He instructs her to put her face with foundation. She puts them nicely on her face and waits for him for his next instruction.

“Next, uh, I don’t know but your whole face is pale right now. Can use that thingy looks like a brown stick”

“Uh… you mean, bronzer? Well you’re right, it could make a little shape in my face” she puts them nicely, blending them so they didn’t look to contrast in her face. After applying those, Kageyama instructs her to stop.

“Okay, stop there, look at me” she shift from the mirror to him, moved facing him, so he can take a better full look at her.

He look at her for 10 seconds and said “You look pretty fine to me. Just using this. Okay, next I think I have seen some TikTok videos showing how to make your lips not too colored. Like using your lip product first after that they just dab their lips? I don’t know babe”

“Oh, wait a minute” she do what he said. You use your lipstick around your lips on the inside, and blend the color so it doesn’t make your lips too pink.

“Like this?” she faced him, showing her lips too close to his face, which startled Kageyama and make him blush.

“Uhh… Ye-Yeah, okay. You good, just like this” he tries to hide his face, it’s a stupid idea that he insists to look at her makeup steps, she’s just already pretty with just no makeup.

“Wha- I don’t see the difference in my face, Tobi. It’s just like my bare face but with no black spots or acne” she pouted, it’s really not like her/

“Ha-? Of course, it’s you. There is no difference, because it’s you, right?.” he asked, confused because she’s still pretty, okay?

“No, honey, I mean my face now is similar to a baby with no makeup on. It’s just a foundation covering my black spots and toned up my skin a little” she explains to him by pointing at her face.

“Well, you’re not weird. I prefer you to go out like this anyway on every date or even if you come to my matches” he appears closer behind you, so you can see him in the mirror as well.

“Huh? Do you prefer me to look like this? No eyelashes, or no eyeshadows?” she asked.

“Well- Hon, First of all, I don’t know what that thing is. I mean, this face is more than enough fulfilling my request right now. You look pretty babe, seriously. I don’t want any guy to see you prettier than this!” he said in a little high tone, actually upset because he slip something he should not say.

She remained silent for a second, frowned after hearing his sentences before, “Wait… what did you say?”

He quickly went outside the bathroom, picking up his jersey and towel, “Uh- no. Forget it, I’ll just take a shower and we’ll leave at 8.30 okay?”

She follows him outside the bathroom and still questions him, “Wait. Can you repeat the last sentence?”

Finally, after circling around picking things so he can go to the bath, he reaches the bathroom again, “Yeah, I want to take shower” he said.

When Kageyama closed the bathroom door, she blocks the door, still grieving for the answer, “No! Before that, Tobi. You said you don’t want any guy to what?”

“Okay FAQ is closed, now Babe, I will take a shower and please, just don’t add anything again to your face” he kissed her on the lips, making her startled because worrying that her thin lipstick fading.

“Hey! Wha- Tobi… Wai…” in the end, she waits for him until he dresses up, picking up his things. They didn’t discuss further this makeup until they were already in their shoes outside.

“Hon… Are you sure?” she asked when they walk, while Kageyama walks grabbing her hand.

He stares at her, the looks that she got right now it’s fine, not too bold, definitely Kageyama’s type. Stopping their walk, he asked, “Am I too much asked for this, Babe? I’m sorry if this is really essential to you, but from what I read, just using base face things and lips, especially since you’re going to be in the crowds with so many people… I just don't want you to worry to do your ‘touch-ups?’ yeah, that ‘re-applying thing’ too much in the arena, that's why…” he explains.

She has no idea that he’s actually observing girls’ things that much. “Am I pretty now, Tobi? I mean in your eyes..” she asked him.

“Babe, I have a match next Saturday,” Tobio said while he helps you while carrying dirty plates.

“Oh? Okay then, is there anything you want me to prepare before d-day?” she asked him. Usually, when he has a match to play, he requests special things, such as his favorite breakfast before going to the gym, spraying his jersey with your perfume, and packing his things into his bag (when he can do it by himself, but it’s so essential for him when you packed his things) and many else.

“Uh.. no, I can prepare myself. I just want to inform you” he answered her.

“Would you like to have your favorite sandwiches for breakfast then? I can make some of them before you leave for the match” she offered while washing the dishes.

“That would be nice” he smiled, looking at her. Because he actually wants something for her this time.

“Babe” he called her again.

“Yeah?” she answered while still washing the dishes.

“Would you like to come to watch me play this time?” he asked politely. When the ‘Kageyama Tobio’asked politely, then it was a serious thing.

“Uh- what? Why?” she was shocked because it’s the first time he ask her about that.

“Why? I mean… To support me? Girlfriends mostly do that, am I wrong?” he answered her.

“Uh… Yeah. I’m just surprised, I never came to your matches before…” she said.

“Speaking of that, I never introduce you to my teammates, they only know your name though” Kageyama sat on the couch while playing with his phone.

“Is that necessary, Tobi…? It’s not that important, right?” She walks closer to him, giving him his usual blankets because he’s going to watch volleyball playthrough all night, since today is weekend, he can do whatever he wants until tomorrow.

“It’s necessary, what makes you think our relationship is not necessary?” he asked her.

“No. I mean, they don’t really have to know me” she answered him while tidying up their laundry.

Thinking back again, Tobio also asked himself why he never asks her to visit his practices, or even watches his big games beforehand. So many of his fans and teammates brag about his private life, he also thinks about how you would think about his play, is he cool enough, is he strong enough? “But if you don’t want to, it’s okay though, I don’t want to force you,” he said, of course, he doesn’t want to force you, more likely that would make you uncomfortable as well.

She thinks hard, Kageyama really wants her to come then. It’s his first polite request towards her, outside of his teasing and salty personality. The night was long and she slept first while Kageyama is still watching volleyball matches in the living room.

When she woke up, she didn’t see Kageyama around. How come he still jogs when he slept so late in the morning? When he enters the house, he greets her with good morning kisses. Walk over to the bathroom to take a shower.

After he finished showering, “I’ll come to your match…” she said to him.

His eyes widened, shocked hearing your answer, “Really? You mean it?” his shocking expression is actually a happy expression though.

“Yeah, I think it’s important for me to know your teammates, they’re like your brothers too, right? And they might know you well than me” she said, walking closer to him.

“Well, yeah, like usual groups of boys filled with an annoying, salty, but professional person. You’re a much nicer and kind person, unlike me. So I know you’re gonna easily understand them.” He hugs her, indicating his happiness that you really going to watch him next Saturday.

“I have one request as well, but if you don’t mind,” he asked her with a polite tone. He took her hand to his wardrobe, searching for his spare jacket.

“But, is this a jacket you’ll use on Saturday?” she asked while trying the jacket, its so big to her fit.

“No, this is my previous jacket manager bought wrong size for me. It’s pretty tight on me because… Well, I think I gained too many muscles in the last 2 years.” he explained to her shyly. He didn’t mean to flex but he always shy when he told her about his ‘muscle’ to his dearest one.

“Okay… But… Is it okay? I mean… I’m going to sit around the crowd, knowing this is yours…” She also worried as well, that his fans talking about this jacket, because it’s a real athletes’ jacket, and not just ‘athletes’ it’s Kageyama Tobio’s real jacket.

“Uh… yeah.” Kageyama just realizes she will be sitting around the crowd, she can’t come to the playing arena, of course.  “Well, sorry for not remembering about you’ll stand in the tribune, but still…” he cleares his throat, took her hand, and shyly answered her again, “I want you… to use this… while cheering me up. I mean, it’s okay not to shout or be loud like the other crowds! I just want to see you from the playing arena, that’s all”

He’s blushing so hard right now, he even didn’t look at her. She only smiled because he blushed so hard, understanding that he was really serious about offering this request.

“Is this what you really want?” she asked again, teasing him.

“Yeah, I dare not having my favorite sandwiches if you come to my match” He answered her with a real damn serious tone.

“Ahaha, no, it’s okay babe, I still will make sandwiches for you, it’s just, I’m nervous okay, it’s my first time to come to your big match” She laughed because of his serious answer.

“I mean, I want to ask you for a long time… But since you were not into sports, I thought you would reject my invitation to my game because you will be bored.” He was nervous that he have to play really well so Y/N can see how have been well Kageyama Tobio in his profession as a volleyball athlete.

“Well Mr. Kageyama, now you’re my boyfriend so I guess it’s a real honor to be invited, right?”

He blushes, hugging her tight because she teased her too much, “Yeah, I can’t wait until next week” he said, dragging her to the bed. "Thank you... For accepting my invitation" he said by caressing her hair.

She only smiled, stroking his head, makes him to close his eyes. He must be much relaxed now because Y/N is accepting his request.

"And why are you sleeping right now? Not practicing?" She poked his cheek playfully.

Akaashi is a really great person, he has a part-time contract as a model and also he’s studying at Tokyo University majoring in Science. But thanks to you, he managed to achieve all of them. When he was 17, he was a shy person, charismatic, yet he tends to take a normal life, just playing volleyball as he likes, and studying normally, he didn’t even think a little to be the best in his class. He just managed it equally. When he met you, you didn’t have many friends back then, with your tall-chubby appearance, 178cm tall, with about 70kg weight, you always find girls shorter than you, it’s rather 2; they are scared of your height, or just find you not pretty.

They were dating since she was 18 and he was 17, Y/N is the reason behind Akaashi’s success, she is one year older than him. Y/N tries really hard to be pretty, to be skinny, a standard that Keiji never agrees to. She really wants to be better to deserve him, but Keiji never forcing herself to that. Just having the spirit to always enlighten his mood, always comfort Keiji when he's sad, always supporting him with meals and kisses when he goes to work late or coming home late because of college projects, more importantly her willingness not to give up on challenges at their lowest point on their relationship. All of them are more than enough to make him want to stay with her until the end of the day.

He looked her in the eye and start praising her, through their sadness and joy,

“For last 5 years of relationship, each day I woke up for 3 years living together, I never think twice when I look at you, you know?” he tells her, it’s true, he never look at Y/N physically as standard for being a girlfriend.

“I know, girls are fragile and insecure, its our job as men to always comfort and make you secure. I am lucky to have you because I always feel enough, just us, even if I’m not a model or a science student that so many people praised my successful journey, they would never know that behind those, there is you, the only reason I survive through my journey, the only reason why I’m still happy going through my journey”

“Okay Keiji, stop- we’re in the middle in-” she almost cries herself up.

“I love you, my sweet. And I always will. I know my words of affirmation are only helping you temporarily, but I’m here permanently for you. I’ll explore many things to make you feel better so you can go through your sadness. Don’t feel bad about making me tired because of your insecurity, I choose to comfort you, it’s my duty.” He hugs her because she literally crying right now :(. For 5 years she still has insecurities and sadness, but she tried her best to always comfort herself through that. She is happy to accompany him, happy to create crafts with him and she is happy to cook for him.

“Keiji you’re so bad… Making me cry and my tears are freezing my face right now :(“ she releases her head from his hug. 

“Haha, sorry sweet” he caresses her cold tears, her face swollen that quick because of the cold weather.

Crap, it’s already 10 PM and the lights around the street start to turn off.

“Well, I guess bakeries already closed up right now, I’m really sorry I ruin your birthday into a fountain of tears, hon,” he said, still hugging her tight.

“Nah, it’s okay. Your words of affirmation is just more than enough for my 23rd birthday. Thank you, hon” she answers him, giving him a peck of a kiss.

“Shall we go home now?” He grabs her hand tightly.

“Yeah! Sure” she happily walks with him.

Today it’s your birthday and you act cold towards, him. Why? Because it's Q4 of the year, you have many jobs to do at the office. Kuroo didn’t mind that, it is just how it is, you’re a pretty busy career woman but still trying hard to be at home punctual because Kuroo often asks “going home late again? Can I have you 1 hour earlier today :(“

2 days have passed but somehow, it’s November. Huh? That’s weird, in October they are supposed to celebrate only 1 important day: your birthday. Kuroo was confused and checked his phone again, and he just receive a notification entitled “Y/N’s birthday” has passed 2 days late!

He was confused, and called her, “hon, you’re okay, right?”

“Uh? Really Tetsu, don’t mention your stupid prank/confusing questions now I’m still in the middle of work”

“Wow honey, you changed a lot” he pouted, well she forgot her own birthday and she didn’t even remember something missing around her? Okay this woman is pretty something

“Sorry honey, I’m just pretty stressed, I’m going back late again okay:( I’m so sorry for not cooking for you a whole week”. Ok but Tetsu is like, ‘honey sweetie please be sad a little that I forgot your birthday 🙁

They end up their conversation at 8 PM

He goes to the nearest bakery/convenience store/okonomiyaki stand, just anything to make a little surprise for his girlfriend, even tho it’s just a little. 

“I’m home, Tetsu?” the room was pitch black, and she didn’t see anything

He showed up, bringing a self-made pancake with waffles and ice cream, decorated with candles, and a piece of paper written “Happy Late 25th Birthday Kitten! Sorry your man here didn’t find any cakes left on the streets”

“Oh….?” she was confused while Kuroo is singing her happy birthday, and she checked the calendar. “Oh my dear, thank you for remembering it, Tetsu...”

“Seriously? You didn't remember? Even a little?” he asked

“Uh… yeah, well it's late for 2 days... so....”

“No one said happy birthday to you? Last 2 days?” he asked again.

“No one, hon” she said sadly. Well, Kuroo does know that Y/N hates birthdays because she didn’t have any friends, and also her parents were not remembering her day much because of financial problems since she was little, she always stays with her grandma yet she never celebrate her birthday. Not even once. She often sad when she saw her friends celebrating their birthday with their parents and relatives. that’s why before she met Kuroo, she always forgets her birthday. At first she just dont want to remember, but later she just forgets it. poor woman:(

“Kitten you have me now, okay? Please just let me spoil you with any stupid gifts, even I will give you a car on your special birthday” He strokes her head, hoping her to just depending on him more, it's her special day.

“Nuh-uh, no thank you mister rooster there. Car it's too expensive including maintenance, tax, and insurance. Just you remembering is more than enough for me” she answered him, kiss him on the cheek, and hugs him tightly because it's her 1st birthday to celebrate.

"Whatever then, that's really you. But remember if you forget your birthday again I will forcefully spoiling you" he hugging her back. She remembers Tetsu's important dates such as matches, birthday and even his cat's death anniversary. So he feel wrong not celebrating his darling girl.

“okay then, blow up the candles first please, don’t forget to make a wish” he laughs, stroking her head, leading her to blow the candles.

“Should I say my wishes out loud?” she jokingly asked him

“Well I will be glad to hear it, but if you don’t it’s okay. It’s your day, honey” he answered, with a smile, so many couples were angry when their partners forget their days but this time, it’s not so bad.

“My wish is you’ll stay remember again like this, even if it’s 2 days late” she blew up the candle.
