The Sign Of Good Character Is In Ten Qualities

Al-Haafiz `Abdur-Ra-oof Al-Munaawee [رحمه الله] [D. 1031 H] said: Yoosuf Ibn Asbaat said: 

❝The sign of good character is in ten qualities:

1. Rarely arguing,

2. Treating others fairly,

3. Abandoning seeking out people’s faults,

4. Seeking to rectify and improve any evil qualities which appear,

5. Seeking excuses for people,

6. Bearing harm,

7. Blaming oneself,

8. Occupying oneself with awareness of one’s own faults and not with the faults of others, 

9. Having a cheerful face,

10. And being mild in speech.❞

How could I gather the strength to answer my Lord?

إذا قالَ: يا رجلُ، ما الذي أغواكَ عنّي؟

When He says: “O man, what turned you away from Me?”

بأيِّ لسانٍ أعتذرُ عمّا جنيتُ

With what tongue shall I apologize for what I have done?

وهو العليمُ بما أخفيتُ وما أُبدي

When He already knows what I concealed and what I revealed.

There's a book by Farid Bahrani " Martyrdom of Al-Husayn (radhiAllahu anhu" and in al-Bidaya wa an-Nihaya by Ibn Kathir (rahimahullah), he has a section of Imam al-Husayn (radhiAllahu anhu) and Minhaj as-Sunnah by Shaykh al-Islam Ahmad ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah), however it's a refutation of rafidha. It's translated into English. U can find the pdfs of all 3 above books in shaa Allah . May Allah be pleased with our beloved husayn

Actually it's what you should know there's a lot of exaggeration in other ones. These one and Allah knows best are closer to the truth

After watching and reading u may think al-Husaynn (radhiAllahu anhu) went to Karbala for being a ruler. No! Rather the truth is he went there to protect Islam. Subhan Allah!

Some nights, sickness sits beside you so quietly that even your soul begins to speak differently.

The room is the same, the walls are the same, but suddenly the heart starts thinking about Allah with a strange sincerity it never carries in comfort. You begin to wonder what state your soul is in, and whether you have spent too much of your life attached to people who only knew how to stay when it benefited them.

Maybe this world was always this temporary.

Maybe we just notice it more when loneliness slows everything down.

And maybe pain is not always punishment.

Sometimes it is Allah removing the noise of the world long enough for you to finally hear your own heart.

al-ʿAllāmah Abā Buṭayn said:

O Allah, since You have guided us to Islām, do not take it away from us, and do not take us away from it until You cause us to die upon it while You are pleased with us.

“Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from Yourself; indeed, You are al-Wahhāb (the Bestower).” [Āl ʿImrān: 8]

Do not let your trials make you doubt Allah. The delay is not abandonment, the hardship is not hatred, and the test is not proof that you have been forgotten. Allah knows what you do not know. Hold firmly to obedience, remain patient, and trust His decree. The One who controls every affair is fully capable of changing your situation in a single moment.

Islam never changes but hearts do. The religion of Allah remains perfect, yet people weaken in their īmān and begin changing themselves to fit the dunya instead of changing themselves for Allah. Do not measure Islam by Muslims; measure yourself by Islam. Hold firmly to the truth even when others let go. The path of Allah does not change only those who walk away from it do.

إذا أرهقتكَ همومُ الحياةِ

ومسَّكَ مِنها عظيمُ الضرر

If the worries of life have exhausted you,

And its profound hardships have touched your soul.

وذُقت الأمرينِ حتى بكيت

وضجَّ فؤادُك حتى انفَجر

And you have tasted bitterness until you wept,

And your heart cried out until it burst.

فَيَمِم إلى اللهِ في لَهفةٍ

وبُثْ الشكاةِ لربِّ البَشر

Then turn to Allah in deep longing,

And pour out your grief to the Lord of mankind.

“If bees only gathered nectar from perfect flowers, they wouldn’t be able to make even a single drop of honey.” ~ Matshona Dhliwayo

"الأمور التي لا تعنيك اتركها، فان هذا من حسن إسلامك، وهو أيضًا فيه راحة للإنسان، فكون الإنسان لا يهمه إلا نفسه هذا هو الراحة، أما الذي يتتبع أحوال الناس ماذا قيل؟ وماذا حدث لهم؟ ... فإنه سوف يتعب تعبًا عظيمًا، ويفوّت على نفسه خيرًا كثيرًا".

"Matters that do not concern you—leave them be, for this is part of the perfection of one's Islam, and it is also a source of rest for a person. For a man to concern himself only with what pertains to him—that is true rest. But whoever pursues the affairs of others—what was said about them, what happened to them—will surely exhaust himself greatly and miss out on much good."

If this dunya was blind, who would you impress? It's who you are when no one is looking. If you're everything in the eyes of the creation but nothing in the eyes of Allah, you have lost.
