please make sure that wherever you’re at in life, you don’t treat it like a transitory period. don’t waste your college years wishing to already be graduated & have a job. don’t waste your single years wishing for someone to be in love with. if/when those things come, they will come in due time and they will be good. but there is nothing like looking back and feeling empty because you wasted literal years ignoring what you had because you were hoping for something better. while it’s important to better yourself and reach for your goals, don’t neglect the present because that’s where you are now and it’s your now that determines your future.

There’s something utterly dazzling about being young and wandering thru an unfamiliar neighborhood in the city at a balmy night, holding hands with a boy who’s as clueless about his future as you are. Idk how to describe what it feels like when the boy suddenly kisses you in front of strangers in a strange neighborhood in a strange land thousands of miles away from home, yet you feel so warm and you know it’s not because of the balmy air. Anyways I was at a dsa party last night (which sounds crazy for a political group to be throwing parties, but they’re basically all hipsters so) and my boy toy who’s a member kissed me on the nose and people kept asking us how long we’ve been together lmao and i had to awkwardly stammer “uh..... we’re not like, together” which delighted the skinny white hipster boys who then would proceed to try to hit on me in front of him and boy toy would glare at them lmao

And then in the uber on the way back boy toy said “I can’t believe you’re still seeing me I mean you’re so pretty and I’m... white” and I bursted out laughing so hard
